We demonstrate simultaneous spectral and coherent combining of a three-tone nine-channel all-fiber amplifier array with a total output power of 1.8 kW in a master-oscillator power-amplifier (MOPA) configuration. Three single-frequency seed lasers are spectrally combined and employed as a master oscillator for an all-fiber power amplifier array, which provides robust performance on suppressing of the stimulated Brillouin scattering effect. Three-stage power amplifiers are employed to scale the power from tens of mW to more than 300 W. Active phase locking of the nine-channel spectrally combined amplifiers is implemented by using the stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm. In the experiment, a nine-channel spectrally combined MOPA array is coherently combined with a total output power of 1.8 kW. The power in the main lobe in closed loop is 4.6 times the value in open loop, and an average visibility of more than 85 % of the interference pattern at the receiving plane is obtained. By only adding pump power in the main amplifiers, the total power of the array could scale up to more than 3 kW. 相似文献

We demonstrated active phase locking a nine-element 1.1 kW all-fiber master-oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) array using the stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) blind optimization algorithm. Two spectrally combined single-frequency seed lasers, which provide potential ability to suppress the stimulated Brillouin scattering effect, are employed as a master oscillator for the nine MOPA channels. The nine laser beams are tiled side by side into a 3×3 laser array with a fill factor of 40% in the near field. When the SPGD controller is enabled, the metric function is increased 4.1 times, and a visibility more than 90% of the interference pattern at the receiving plane is obtained. The computed phase residual error is less than λ/15, despite the phase fluctuation of each channel. 相似文献

In this paper, we studied incoherent and coherent beam combining for the master oscillator/power amplifier (MOPA) system with stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) mirror. Optic field intensity distributions in the near and far field are numerically calculated for the two kinds of system. The results show that good beam quality in the far field could be obtained. A novel scalable architecture for coherent beam combining with hybrid phase control involving passive phasing and active phasing in master oscillator-power amplifier configuration is presented. Wide-linewidth mutually injected passive phasing fibre laser arrays serve as master oscillators for the power amplifiers, and the active phasing using stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm is induced. Wide-linewidth seed laser can suppress the stimulated Brillouin scattering effectively and improve the output power of the fibre laser amplifier, while hybrid phase control provides a robust way for in-phase mode coherent beam combining simultaneously. Experiment is performed by active phasing fibre laser amplifiers with passive phasing fibre ring laser array seed lasers. Power encircled in the main-lobe increases1.57 times and long-exposure fringe contrast is obtained to be 78% when the system evolves from passive phasing to hybrid phasing. 相似文献

We report on the development of a fiber-based laser transmitter designed for active remote sensing spectroscopy. The transmitter uses a master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) configuration with a distributed feedback diode-laser master oscillator and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. The output from the MOPA is frequency-doubled with a periodically poled potassium titanium oxide phosphate crystal. With 35 W of single-frequency peak optical pump power, 8 W of frequency-doubled peak power was achieved. The utility of this single-frequency, wavelength tunable, power scalable laser was then demonstrated in a spectroscopic measurement of diatomic oxygen A band. 相似文献

对自行研制的主振荡功率放大结构短脉冲双包层光纤激光系统(2W,30ps)的偏振特性进行了研究.分别研究了种子源激光和经过包层泵浦放大后输出激光在连续工作和脉冲输出情况下的偏振特性,结果表明在不加偏振控制措施情况下,系统输出为椭圆偏振光,偏振度和偏振角都容易受到光纤扰动的影响;在激光腔内加入起偏器后,输出线偏振光,偏振态相对比较稳定,但是偏振角度仍然容易受到光纤扰动的影响.实验证明:经过高功率放大后,输出激光的偏振态稳定性有一定程度的下降,在进行激光相干合成前需进一步加以控制. 相似文献

报道了一台全光纤结构主振荡功率放大(MOPA)型掺镱脉冲光纤激光器,以光纤光栅为腔镜,光纤型声光调Q的光纤激光器为种子源,通过两级掺镱双包层光纤放大器实现功率放大。对声光调Q的光纤激光器输出特性进行了研究,比较了不同泵浦波长、不同重复频率对激光输出功率和脉冲宽度的影响,并实现了最短脉冲宽度25 ns、单脉冲能量45 μJ的脉冲激光输出。在重复频率50 kHz时,对脉冲宽度130 ns、平均功率0.6 W的种子光进行放大,得到了平均功率102.5 W、脉冲宽度约240 ns的激光输出。 相似文献

Based on polarization state conversion, a technique for coaxially coherent combination of laser beams is introduced. Laser beams can be coaxially coupled into one beam with high combination efficiency and perfect beam quality. A polarized laser beam combination system based on master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) configuration is developed and the efficiencies of both unit combination and the whole system are investigated. In the experiment of combining four beams with single longitudinal mode, a combination efficiency of 85.3% is achieved. It can be further enhanced by improving the stability of experimental environment and the quality of optical and mechanical components. 相似文献

A high-power all-fiber single-frequency polarization-maintained(PM)laser operating at 1 083 nm is demonstrated using a master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA)structure.The seed source of this MOPA laser system is an in-house-built ring-cavity fiber oscillator.Four-stage amplification configuration is employed, in which the maximal output power of the main amplifier is 90.4 W,corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 72.5%.The polarization extinction ratio of the output light is 13 dB.The amplified spontaneous emission is suppressed by a factor of over 25 dB,and no stimulated Brillouin scattering effect is observed when a large-mode-area and high absorption coefficient PM gain fiber is employed. 相似文献

the homogenous absorption distribution, a composite short Nd:YAG rod has been employed as the amplification medium and the
rod side was well polished to cause total internal reflection (TIR) at the internal wall of the rod. Because the axes of pump
LDs and the seed laser occupy the same position, it is relatively easy to obtain both the satisfied mode-matching efficiency
and the high absorption efficiency by using two stacked-LD modules. A seed laser, with the input energy of 15 mJ and the pulse
width of 46 ns, was amplified through the MOPA structure with the one-pass gain of about 1.2. We have not found any parasitic
oscillations from both ends of the amplifier rod until the total pump LD power reached 420 W. The proposed scheme is thought

A theoretical study for ultraviolet upconversion fiber master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) based on the transition from the 4f5d state to the 3H4 ground state in Pr3+:ZBLAN fiber is performed by using steady population rate equations and propagation equations. The variation of the output power with the fiber length of master oscillator and MOPA and the launched pump powers, the dependence of the slope efficiency on the fiber length of master oscillator and MOPA, and the optimum fiber length of MOPA as a function of the launched pump powers, are calculated. Both the output power and the slope efficiency of MOPA are 2-3 times those of the simplex oscillator. It is found that the UV upconversion fiber MOPA system can effectively improve the output power and the slope efficiency of laser. 相似文献
