An analytical expression was proposed to analyze the influence of group-delay ripple (GDR) on timing jitter induced by self-phase modulation (SPM) and intra-channel cross-phase modulation (IXPM) in pseudolinear transmission systems when dispersion was compensated by chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG).Effects of ripple amplitude, period, and phase on timing jitter were discussed by theoretical and numerical analysis in detail. The results show that the influence of GDR on timing jitter changes linearly with the amplitude of GDR and whether it decreases or increases the timing jitter relies on the ripple period and ripple phase. Timing jitter induced by SPM and IXPM could be suppressed totally by adjusting the relative phase between the center frequency of the pulse and the ripples.  相似文献

分析了光纤光栅不理想特性的产生机理,对以啁啾光纤光栅为色散补偿器的10Gb/s光传输系统中,啁啾光纤光栅的不理想特性包括群时延纹波、反射纹波及光栅通带带宽对采用归零码(RZ)、非归零码(NRZ)以及载波抑制归零码(CSRZ)三种调制格式传输系统性能的影响进行了详细的数值分析和比较. 同时进行了基于光纤光栅色散补偿的1500km无误码传输实验,通过对啁啾光纤光栅由于不理想特性的差别而导致对实际传输系统不同信道性能影响的比较,进一步验证了仿真分析的正确性. 关键词: 光传输 啁啾光纤光栅 不理想特性 调制码型  相似文献

利用啁啾相移光纤光栅狭缝的中心波长对应变点和应变量的波长敏感性,实现应变与应变点精确定位的传感.当啁啾光纤光栅上的某一位置产生微应变时,该应变点会产生相移,其频谱则会出现一个与之对应的狭缝,且狭缝的深度和中心波长与应变的大小和位置相关.当串接不同中心波长的啁啾光纤光栅后,即可实现一定范围内的分布式应变与应变点精确定位检测.本文通过V-I传输矩阵法建立了狭缝深度和中心波长关于应变量和应变位置的理论模型,分析结果表明理论上可以实现微米量级的精确定位.搭建了级联啁啾相移光纤光栅的分布式应变传感装置,实验获得的最大应变灵敏度为0.19 pm/με.该精确定位传感装置在先进制造、精密加工、航空航天、铁路系统等高新技术领域具有重要的应用前景.  相似文献

An all-fibre multi-parameter sensor for composite structures based on a chirped optical fibre Bragg grating (CFBG) has been studied theoretically and experimentally. The principle of multi-parameters sensing with a single CFBG is based on that the centre wavelength and the FWHM (full width at half maximum) in the reflection spectrum of a CFBG vary linearly with the temperature and/or the axial stress. A wavelength matched optical fibre long period grating (LPG) and another wavelength matched reference CFBG (CFBGR) have been used to interrogate the signal of the sensor CFBG (CFBGS). The temperature and strain of the composite structure have been monitored real-time with one CFBG as a single sensor head. The temperature resolution of 0.12°C and the strain resolution of 1.1μ? for a composite structure have been realized in experiments. The experiment results agree well with the theoretical analyses.  相似文献

To fabricate chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) with high reflectivity and accurately controlled chirp profile with low cost, we develop the CFBG fabrication technique based on strain gradient: fabricating CFBG using fabricated fiber Bragg grating (FBG) by establishing strain gradient along the length of grating. We theoretically analyze the form of such CFBGs, and study the characteristics of gratings using piecewise-uniform approach. It is shown that increasing UV-induced index change or the length of the grating or both are the efficient ways to obtain high quality CFBG with high reflectivity and good reflection spectrum. The dispersion of this grating is decided by and varies inversely with the slope of the strain gradient along the length of the grating, not decided by UV-induced index change or by the length of grating. One can control the dispersion and the chirp profile by adjusting the slope of the strain gradient. Based on the theoretical analysis, we have fabricated CFBG whose reflectivity is maintained at 100% in a large range of strain gradients.  相似文献

设计了一种基于啁啾光纤布喇格光栅的新型液位传感器,该传感器主要由矩形悬臂梁构成的传感机构和光纤光谱仪组成。导出了啁啾光纤布喇格光栅的反射谱带宽与液位的关系;通过光谱仪检测啁啾光纤布拉格光栅反射谱的带宽,就可以得到被测液位的高度。并对设计的传感器系统进行了实验验证,实验结果表明,该啁啾光纤布拉格光栅反射谱带宽对温度变化不敏感,且在测量范围内,反射谱带宽与被测液位间有很好的线性关系。  相似文献

A high efficiency compact Yb:KGW regenerative amplifier using an all-fiber laser seed source was comprehensively studied. With thermal lensing effect compensated by the cavity design, the compressed pulses with energy of 1 m J at 1 k Hz and 0.4 m J at 10 k Hz in sub-400-fs pulse duration using chirped fiber Bragg grating(CFBG) stretcher were demonstrated.A modified Frantz–Nodvik equation was developed to emulate the dynamic behavior of the regenerative amplifier. The simulation results were in good agreement with the experiment. Numerical simulations and experimental results show that the scheme can be scalable to higher energy of multi-m J, sub-300 fs pulses.  相似文献

A simple and very precise group delay ripple (GDR) measurement technique for linearly chirped fiber Bragg gratings (CFBGs) is proposed. It is based on real-time optical Fourier transformation of an ultrashort pulse directly induced by the CFBG dispersion. We have experimentally demonstrated highly accurate characterization of the GDR profile of a commercial 10-m-long CFBG with a dispersion of +2000 ps/nm, having achieved a remarkably small standard deviation in our measurements of about 4 ps over a bandwidth of 28 nm. The proposed method has the unique potential to provide real-time GDR monitoring (in the MHz range) by use of commercially available high-speed sampling electronics.  相似文献

We present the novel all-fiber optical delay line that can be realized by exploiting the fundamental distributive reflection characteristics of a chirped fiber Bragg gratings (CFBG). With the assist of a strained CFBG and a designed fiber stretcher, the proposed delay line could perform the function (such as attainment of variable large enough optical delay without dispersion mismatch) of the conventional optical delay line within the optical fiber. While the strained CFBG produced 3.1 mm optical delay, the pair of CFBGs in the opposite direction can manage dispersion imbalance of the delay line. The use of the PZT-based fiber stretcher can enable depth scanning at a high repetition rate for real-time imaging. The performance of the delay element is demonstrated with measured experimental results. OCT system embedded with the all-fiber variable optical delay line showed the axial resolution of 100 μm and the dynamic range of 50 dB. The implemented system was used for the imaging of a biomedical sample, which proves the utility of the proposed delay element as a promising alternative of optical delay line.  相似文献

We investigate a flexibly tunable multiwavelength semiconductor-optical-amplifier-based fiber ring laser with continuous wavelength spacing controllability incorporating a superimposed chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG). The wavelength spacing of a superimposed CFBG can be continuously controlled by symmetrically modifying the chirp bandwidth of the grating with the specially designed apparatus. We achieve a wide and continuous tuning range of the wavelength spacing from 0.35 to 0.78 nm. The continuous tunability of the wavelength spacing is measured to be ~ +/-0.033 nm/mm. By controlling the reflection bandwidth of the tunable CFBG, we can independently adjust the number of lasing channels from 2 to 23 at the wavelength spacing of 0.51 nm.  相似文献

Gray-level data pages enhance the storage capacity of holographic data storage systems. A balanced three gray-scale data page in phase mode produces a homogenized Fourier spectrum which is regarded to be necessary for suitable exploitation of the holographic recording medium. A commercially available transmission type twisted nematic liquid crystal display has been characterized for use as a phase spatial light modulator with phase modulation in the range 0–3π/2 at 532 nm wavelength, such that it may be used for holographic data storage with binary as well as three gray-level phase-modulated data pages. Experimental results of the phase and amplitude modulation characteristics of the SLM, Fourier plane homogeneity, and recording of phase-modulated binary, three gray-level data pages and their reconstruction with a real-time holographic interferometric method are presented.  相似文献

A new method of phase-modulated excimer laser crystallization is adopted to fabricate the patterned nanometer-sized crystalline silicon (nc-Si) dots within the sandwiched structure (a-SiNx:H/a-Si:H/a-SiNx:H) films. The results of transmission electron microscopy, electron diffraction and Raman scattering show the ultra-thin and single-layer nc-Si films were patterned in the lateral direction and the size of crystallites is controlled by the thickness of as-deposited a-Si film in the longitudinal direction. The effects of the laser energy density on the structures of the samples and the crystallization mechanism are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, Direct Tabu Search (DTS) is proposed to synthesize the physical parameters of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) numerically from its reflection response. A reflected spectrum is being calculated by using the Transfer Matrix Method (TMM). Direct search based strategies are used to direct a tabu search. These strategies are based on a new pattern search procedure called Adaptive Pattern Search (APS). In addition, the well-known Nelder-Mead (NME) algorithm is used as a local search method at the final stage of the optimization process. Direct Tabu Search (DTS) is applied for reconstruction of a raised cosine chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) and a Gaussian multi channel fiber grating. The method is then used to synthesize a CFBG from its reflectivity taken at different temperatures. It gives a good estimate of the thermal expansion coefficient and the thermo-optic coefficient of the fiber.  相似文献

利用级联长周期光纤光栅与具有宽带反射功能的啁啾光纤光栅,构成了一种反射型的光纤光栅梳状滤波器.由于光在输出前经过两次干涉滤波作用,所以该梳状滤波器的消光比与透射输出型(即反射前)相比,增加了一倍.而且,通过调节啁啾光纤光栅的反射带宽,可以改变滤波器输出信道的数目.实验中利用弹性梁弯曲的方法,获得了两个可调的光纤光栅梳状滤波器,其信道数可分别在1~5和3~9之间的奇数间调谐(如果改变啁啾光纤光栅的初始中心波长,也可以获得偶数信道间的调谐).  相似文献

A theoretical and numerical analysis of the transmission of phase-modulated laser pulses through a thin film with excitonic nonlinearity is performed. We study the transmission of phase-modulated radiation from a Mössbauer source through an absorber, assuming that the transition frequencies of the absorber nuclei fluctuate according to a dichotomic Markov process. The relaxation affects the transmission characteristics strongly both for a thin and a thick absorber. In the latter case the phases of the Fourier components of the transmitted intensity allow for a direct access to the relaxation mechanism of the absorber.  相似文献

We report a new transmission that can be used for quantum key distribution. The system uses single-sideband-modulated light in an implementation of the BB84 quantum cryptography protocol. The system is formed by two integrated unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometers and is based on interference between phase-modulated sidebands in the spectral domain.
