We investigate the upper $$FC-$$ central series of the unit group of an integral group ring $${\mathbb Z}G$$ of a periodic group G. We prove that $${\mathcal U}={{\mathcal U}}_1({\mathbb Z}G)$$ has $$FC-$$ central height one if and only if the $$FC-$$ hypercenter of $${{\mathcal U}}_1({\mathbb Z}G)$$ is contained in the normalizer of the trivial units. Further, in these conditions, the $$FC-$$ hypercenter of the unit group is non-central if and only if G is a $$Q^{*}-$$ group. Let $$H \vartriangleleft {\mathcal U}, H$$ contained in the normalizer of the trivial units, suppose that either the elements of finite order form a subgroup or H is a polycyclic-by-finite (polycyclic) subgroup, then H is contained in the finite conjugacy center of $${{\mathcal U}}_1({\mathbb Z}G)$$ .  相似文献

A transformation semigroup over a set X with N elements is said to be a near permutation semigroup if it is generated by a group G of permutations on N elements and by a set H of transformations of rank N - 1. In this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions for a near permutation semigroup S = ‹G,H›, where H is a group, to be inverse. Moreover, we obtain conditions which guarantee that its semilattice of idempotents is generated by the idempotents of S of rank greater than N - 2 or N - 3.  相似文献

In this paper the idea of an intrinsic extension of a ring, first proposed by Faith and Utumi, is generalized and studied in its own right. For these types of ring extensions, it is shown that, with relatively mild conditions on the base ring, R, a complete set of primitive idempotents (a complete set of left triangulating idempotents, a complete set of centrally primitive idempotents) can be constructed for an intrinsic extension, T, from a corresponding set in the base ring R. Examples and applications are given for rings that occur in functional analysis and group ring theory.  相似文献

Let D be a division ring with center F and K a division subring of D. In this paper, we show that a non-central normal subgroup N of the multiplicative group $$D^*$$ is left algebraic over K if and only if so is D provided F is uncountable and contained in K. Also, if K is a field and the n-th derived subgroup $$D^{(n)}$$ of $$D^{*}$$ is left algebraic of bounded degree d over K, then $$\dim _FD\le d^2$$ .  相似文献

In this paper, we explore the nature of central idempotents of Schur rings over finite groups. We introduce the concept of a lattice Schur ring and explore properties of these kinds of Schur rings. In particular, the primitive, central idempotents of lattice Schur rings are completely determined. For a general Schur ring S, S contains a maximal lattice Schur ring, whose central, primitive idempotents form a system of pairwise orthogonal, central idempotents in S. We show that if S is a Schur ring with rational coefficients over a cyclic group, then these idempotents are always primitive and are spanned by the normal subgroups contained in S. Furthermore, a Wedderburn decomposition of Schur rings over cyclic groups is given. Some examples of Schur rings over non-cyclic groups will also be explored.  相似文献

The notion of a simple ring DGderived from a group ring KG is introduced in case K is a field and G is an infinite residually finite group. The close link between DGand KG is exploited in both directions: first, for a simple proof of the Kaplansky's conjecture concerning direct finiteness of KG. Second, to show that DGprovides counter-examples to some conjectures dealing with von Neumann regular rings and the rings all of whose one-sided ideals are generated by idempotents.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group and $$\psi (G)=\sum _{g\in {G}}{o(g)}$$. There are some results about the relation between $$\psi (G)$$ and the structure of G. For instance, it is proved that if G is a group of order n and $$\psi (G)>\dfrac{211}{1617}\psi (C_n)$$, then G is solvable. Herzog et al. in (J Algebra 511:215–226, 2018) put forward the following conjecture: Conjecture. If G is a non-solvable group of order n, then $$\begin{aligned} {\psi (G)}\,{\le }\,{{\dfrac{211}{1617}}{\psi (C_n)}}, \end{aligned}$$with equality if and only if $$G \cong A_5$$. In particular, this inequality holds for all non-Abelian simple groups. In this paper, we prove a modified version of Herzog’s Conjecture.  相似文献

Suppose that G is a finite group and D(G) the double algebra of G. For a given subgroup H of G, there is a sub-Hopf algebra D(G; H) of D(G). This paper gives the concrete construction of a D(G; H)-invariant subspace AH in field algebra of G-spin model and proves that if H is a normal subgroup of G, then AH is Galois closed.  相似文献

Let $$K:=\mathbb {Q}(G)$$ be the number field generated by the complex character values of a finite group G. Let $$\mathbb {Z}_K$$ be the ring of integers of K. In this paper we investigate the suborder $$\mathbb {Z}[G]$$ of $$\mathbb {Z}_K$$ generated by the character values of G. We prove that every prime divisor of the order of the finite abelian group $$\mathbb {Z}_K/\mathbb {Z}[G]$$ divides |G|. Moreover, if G is nilpotent, we show that the exponent of $$\mathbb {Z}_K/\mathbb {Z}[G]$$ is a proper divisor of |G| unless $$G=1$$. We conjecture that this holds for arbitrary finite groups G.  相似文献

Let G be an additive group and C k be the additive group of the ring Z k of residues modulo k. If there exist a (G, k, ) difference family and a (G, k, ) perfect Mendelsohn difference family, then there also exists a difference family. If the (G, k, ) difference family and the (G, k, ) perfect Mendelsohn difference family are further compatible, then the resultant difference family is elementary resolvable. By first constructing several series of perfect Mendelsohn difference families, many difference families and elementary resolvable difference families are thus obtained.  相似文献

In this paper we are interested in the special case where the family of subgroups consists of just one subgroup, andM is the -module . The invariant will be denoted byE(G, S). In this paper,two kinds of skew derivations of a type of Nichols algebras are introduced,and then the relationship between them is investigated.In particular they satisfy the quantum Serre-relations.Therefore,the algebra generated by these derivations and corresponding automorphisms is a homomorphic image of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra μq(g),which proves the Nichols algebra becomes aμq(g)-module algebra.But the Nichols algebra considered here is exactly μq+(g),namely,the positive part of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra μq(g),it turns out that μq+(g)is a μq(g)-module algebra.  相似文献
