This paper provides an asymptotics look at the generalized inference through showing connections between the generalized inference and two widely used asymptotic methods, the bootstrap and plug-in method. A generalized bootstrap method and a generalized plug-in method are introduced. The generalized bootstrap method can not only be used to prove asymptotic frequentist properties of existing generalized confidence regions through viewing fiducial generalized pivotal quantities as generalized bootstrap variables, but also yield new confidence regions for the situations where the generalized inference is unavailable. Some examples are presented to illustrate the method. In addition, the generalized F-test (Weerahandi, 1995 [26]) can be derived by the generalized plug-in method, then its asymptotic validity is obtained. 相似文献

This paper proposes a novel numerical method for predicting the probability density function of generalized eigenvalues in the mechanical vibration system with consideration of uncertainties in structural parameters. The eigenproblem of structural vibration is presented by first and the sensitivity of generalized eigenvalues with respect to structural parameters can be derived. The probability density evolution method is then developed to capture the probability density function of generalized eigenvalues considering uncertain material properties. Within the proposed method, the probability density evolution equation for the generalized eigenvalue problem is established accounting for the sensitivity of generalized eigenvalues with respect to structural parameters. A new variable which connects generalized eigenvalues to structural parameters is then introduced to simplify the original probability density evolution equation. Next, the simplified probability density evolution equation is solved by using the finite difference method with total variation diminishing schemes. Finally, the probability density function as well as the second-order statistical quantities of generalized eigenvalues can be predicted. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed method yields results consistent with Monte-Carlo simulation method within significantly less computation time and the coefficients of variation of uncertain parameters as well as the total number of them have remarkable effects on stochastic characteristics of generalized eigenvalues. 相似文献

We give some convergence results on the generalized Newton method (referred to by some authors as Newton's method) and the
chord method when applied to generalized equations. The main results of the paper extend the classical Kantorovich results
on Newton's method to (nonsmooth) generalized equations. Our results also extend earlier results on nonsmooth equations due
to Eaves, Robinson, Josephy, Pang and Chan.
We also propose inner-iterative schemes for the computation of the generalized Newton iterates. These schemes generalize popular
iterative methods (Richardson's method, Jacobi's method and the Gauss-Seidel method) for the solution of linear equations
and linear complementarity problems and are shown to be convergent under natural generalizations of classical convergence
criteria.
Our results are applicable to equations involving single-valued functions and also to a class of generalized equations which
includes variational inequalities, nonlinear complementarity problems and some nonsmooth convex minimization problems. 相似文献

In this paper,we review some results on the spectral methods.We frst consider the Jacobi spectral method and the generalized Jacobi spectral method for various problems,including degenerated and singular diferential equations.Then we present the generalized Jacobi quasi-orthogonal approximation and its applications to the spectral element methods for high order problems with mixed inhomogeneous boundary conditions.We also discuss the related spectral methods for non-rectangular domains and the irrational spectral methods for unbounded domains.Next,we consider the Hermite spectral method and the generalized Hermite spectral method with their applications.Finally,we consider the Laguerre spectral method and the generalized Laguerre spectral method for many problems defned on unbounded domains.We also present the generalized Laguerre quasi-orthogonal approximation and its applications to certain problems of non-standard type and exterior problems. 相似文献
