In this work, we introduce a new measure for the dispersion of the spectral scale of a Hermitian (self-adjoint) operator acting on a separable infinite-dimensional Hilbert space that we call spectral spread. Then, we obtain some submajorization inequalities involving the spectral spread of self-adjoint operators, that are related to Tao's inequalities for anti-diagonal blocks of positive operators, Kittaneh's commutator inequalities for positive operators and also related to the arithmetic–geometric mean inequality. In turn, these submajorization relations imply inequalities for unitarily invariant norms (in the compact case).  相似文献

In this paper, the authors generalize the concept of asymptotically almost \linebreak negatively associated random variables from the classic probability space to the upper expectation space. Within the framework, the authors prove some different types of Rosenthal''s inequalities for sub-additive expectations. In this paper, a new class of solutions of the vacuum Einstein''s field equations with cosmological constant is obtained. This class of solutions possesses the naked physical singularity. We apply the method of [J. Demange, From porous media equation to generalized Sobolev inequalities on a Riemannian manifold, preprint, http://www.lsp.ups-tlse.fr/Fp/Demange/, 2004] and [J. Demange, Porous Media equation and Sobolev inequalities under negative curvature, preprint, http://www.lsp.ups-tlse.fr/Fp/Demange/, 2004], based on the curvature-dimension criterion and the study of Porous Media equation, to the case of a manifold M with strictly positive Ricci curvature. This gives a new way to prove classical Sobolev inequalities on M. Moreover, this enables to improve non-critical Sobolev inequalities as well. As an application, we study the rate of convergence of the solutions of the Porous Media equation to the equilibrium.  相似文献

In this research, we try to improve Bracken's and Chen's work to significantly better fit our extended Lanchester model into the Ardennes Campaign live data. Essentially, we adopt the concepts of the tactical factor variable and the shift time variable to improve the original Lanchester's model. Moreover, we use the Lanchester square law model instead of Lanchester linear law model to reflect the fact that the Ardennes Campaign was not an indirect-fire but a direct-fire combat. According to our numerical experimental result, we improved Bracken's work by 39.26%, and Chen's work by 19.51%. The contribution of this research is that we propose a much better qualitative analysis model for the explanation of modern combat.  相似文献

A super-twisted Dirac operator is constructed and deformed suitably. Following Shubin’s approach to Novikov inequalities associated to the deformed de Rham-Hodge operator, we give a for mula for the index of the super-twisted Dirac operator, and Novikov type inequalities for the deformed operator. In particular, we obtain a purely analytic proof of the Hopf index theorem for general vector bundles.  相似文献

In 1974 Cruse gave necessary and sufficient conditions for an r × s partial latin square P on symbols σ12,…,σt, which may have some unfilled cells, to be completable to an n × n latin square on symbols σ12,…,σn, subject to the condition that the unfilled cells of P must be filled with symbols chosen from {σt + 1t + 2,…,σn}. These conditions consisted of r + s + t + 1 inequalities. Hall's condition applied to partial latin squares is a necessary condition for their completion, and is a generalization of, and in the spirit of Hall's Condition for a system of distinct representatives. Cropper asked whether Hall's Condition might also be sufficient for the completion of partial latin squares, but we give here a counterexample to Cropper's speculation. We also show that the r + s + t + 1 inequalities of Cruse's Theorem may be replaced by just four inequalities, two of which are Hall inequalities for P (i.e. two of the inequalities which constitute Hall's Condition for P), and the other two are Hall inequalities for the conjugates of P. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We consider the Brascamp–Lieb inequalities concerning multilinear integrals of products of functions in several dimensions. We give a complete treatment of the issues of finiteness of the constant, and of the existence and uniqueness of centred gaussian extremals. For arbitrary extremals we completely address the issue of existence, and partly address the issue of uniqueness. We also analyse the inequalities from a structural perspective. Our main tool is a monotonicity formula for positive solutions to heat equations in linear and multilinear settings, which was first used in this type of setting by Carlen, Lieb, and Loss [CLL]. In that paper, the heat flow method was used to obtain the rank-one case of Lieb’s fundamental theorem concerning exhaustion by gaussians; we extend the technique to the higher-rank case, giving two new proofs of the general-rank case of Lieb’s theorem.
