Subnormality in linear groups

This paper investigates subnormality and its generalizations in the universe of linear groups. Among other results, it is proved that in any periodic linear group serial subgroups are ascendant, while descendant subgroups are subnormal. Moreover, the join of subnormal subgroups of linear groups is studied.

On finite soluble groups in which Sylow permutability is a transitive relation

A characterisation of finite soluble groups in which Sylow permutability is a transitive relation by means of subgroup embedding properties enjoyed by all the subgroups is proved. The key point is an extension of a subnormality criterion due to Wielandt. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.

Finite Groups with Subnormal Schmidt Subgroups

We study finite groups some of whose Schmidt subgroups (the minimal nonnilpotent subgroups) are subnormal.     

Finite groups with seminormal Schmidt subgroups

A non-nilpotent finite group whose proper subgroups are all nilpotent is called a Schmidt group. A subgroup A is said to be seminormal in a group G if there exists a subgroup B such that G = AB and AB₁ is a proper subgroup of G, for every proper subgroup B₁ of B. Groups that contain seminormal Schmidt subgroups of even order are considered. In particular, we prove that a finite group is solvable if all Schmidt {2, 3}-subgroups and all 5-closed {2, 5}-Schmidt subgroups of the group are seminormal; the classification of finite groups is not used in so doing. Examples of groups are furnished which show that no one of the requirements imposed on the groups is unnecessary. Supported by BelFBR grant Nos. Finite groups with S-permutable n-minimal subgroups

We study the supersolvability of finite groups and the nilpotent length of finite solvable groups under the assumption that all their exactly n-minimal subgroups are S-permutable, where n is an arbitrary integer.     

Finite groups with Hall supplements to primitive subgroups

Using the classification of finite simple groups, we establish the solvability of every finite group with solvable Hall supplements to primitive subgroups. We prove also that if those supplements are Ore dispersive then so is the group itself.     

Conjugately Dense Subgroups of Locally Finite Chevalley Groups of Lie Rank 1

Of interest are the subgroups of various groups which have nonempty intersection with each class of conjugate elements of the group under study. We call these subgroups conjugately dense and study Neumann's problem of describing them in the Chevalley groups over a field. The main theorem lists all conjugately dense subgroups of the Chevalley groups of Lie rank 1 over a locally finite field.     

弱SS-半置换性极小子群对有限群超可解性的影响

引入弱SS-半置换子群的概念,介绍了弱SS-半置换子群的性质,结合有限群G的极小于群的弱SS-半置换性,并结合C-正规性来讨论有限群的超可解性及幂零性,得到了有限群超可解及幂零的若干充分或充要条件,同时推广了某些著名结果.     

有限$p$-幂零群的一个判定准则

A Criterion of p-Nilpotency of Finite Groups

Let G be a finite group and p a prime. In this article, we give a criterion of p-nilpotency of G by means of the normalizer and a generalization of normality of subgroups.     

Finite Groups with Given Quantitative Non-Nilpotent Subgroups

The aim of this article is to give a new characterization of the solvability of finite groups by some quantitative properties of their non-nilpotent proper subgroups.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">τ</Emphasis>-primitive subgroups of finite groups

We study the influence of τ-primitive subgroups on the structure of finite groups. As applications, we give the structure of the finite groups whose every subgroup is an intersection of subgroups of prime power index and the structure of finite groups whose every subnormal subgroup is an intersection of subnormal subgroups of prime power index.     

On Subgroup Separability in Hyperbolic Coxeter Groups

We prove that certain hyperbolic Coxeter groups are separable on their geometrically finite subgroups.     

交换自同构群的若干结果

借助于环论的方法研究了具有交换自同构群的有限群,提出了一种新的自同构构作技术,并用之证明了这样的非交换有限群具有非循环的中心子群,以及其每个极大子群的中心子群也都非循环.     

Locally minimal topological groups 2

We continue in this paper the study of locally minimal groups started in Außenhofer et al. (2010) [4]. The minimality criterion for dense subgroups of compact groups is extended to local minimality. Using this criterion we characterize the compact abelian groups containing dense countable locally minimal subgroups, as well as those containing dense locally minimal subgroups of countable free-rank. We also characterize the compact abelian groups whose torsion part is dense and locally minimal. We call a topological group G almost minimal if it has a closed, minimal normal subgroup N such that the quotient group G/N is uniformly free from small subgroups. The class of almost minimal groups includes all locally compact groups, and is contained in the class of locally minimal groups. On the other hand, we provide examples of countable precompact metrizable locally minimal groups which are not almost minimal. Some other significant properties of this new class are obtained.     

Groups in which every subgroup of infinite rank is almost permutable

In this paper, the structure of locally finite groups of infinite rank whose subgroups of infinite rank are permutable in a subgroup of finite index is investigated.
