In 2000,Wu presented two new types of generalized Ball curves,one of which is called an NB1 curve located between the Wang Ball curve and the Said Ball curve.In this article,the authors aim to discuss properties of NB1 curves and surfaces,including the recursive algorithms,conversion algorithms between NB1 and Bézier curves and surfaces, etc.In addition the authors compare the computation efficiency of recursive algorithms for the NB1 and above mentioned two generalized Ball curves and surfaces.  相似文献

This paper presents the dual bases for a new family of generalized Ball curves with a position parameter K, which includes the Bezier curve, generalized Said-Ball curve and some intermediate curves. The generalized Ball curves of Wang-Said type with a position parameter L not only unify the Wang-Ball curves and the Said-Ball curves, but also include several useful intermediate curves. The appriximation properties of generalized conic curves are studied in this paper. A generalized conic curve is defined as one of the following curves or their affine and translation e-quivalent curves:(i) conic curves i including parabolas, hyperbolas and ellipses;(ii) generalized monomial curves, including curves of the form x=yr,.r R.r=0,1, in the x-y Cartesian coordinate system;(iii) exponential spiral curves of the form p=Apolar coordinate system.This type of curves has many important properties such as convexity , approximation property, effective numerical computation property and the subdivision property etc. Applications of these curves in both interpolation and approximations using piecewise generalized conic segment are also developed. It is shown that these generalized conic splines are very similar to the cubic polynomial splines and the best error of approximation is or at least in general provided appropriate procedures are used. In this paper, curve shortening flow in Euclidian space R^n(n≥3) is studied, and S. Altschuler's results about flow for space curves are generalized. We prove that the curve shortening flow converges to a straight line in infinite time if the initial curve is a ramp. We also prove the planar phenomenon when the curve shortening flow blows up.  相似文献

How to increase the speed in drawing and recognizing curves has always been a major concern. From the Breshenham Algorithm and DDA Algorithm in the sixties to the double-step and quadruple-step line generation iu the eighties, curves were all dragon point by point. The algorithm in this paper fully utilizes machine commands to accelerate the generation of lines and curves. We introduce and prove for the first time characterization theorems of the segment code order of digital lines and curyes. These theorems give new methods in the recognition and the measure of smoothness of lines and curves.  相似文献

Applying the distance function between two B-spline curves with respect to the L2 norm as the approximate error, we investigate the problem of approximate merging of two adjacent B-spline curves into one B-spline curve. Then this method can be easily extended to the approximate merging problem of multiple B-spline curves and of two adjacent surfaces. After minimizing the approximate error between curves or surfaces, the approximate merging problem can be transformed into equations solving. We express both the new control points and the precise error of approximation explicitly in matrix form. Based on homogeneous coordinates and quadratic programming, we also introduce a new framework for approximate merging of two adjacent NURBS curves. Finally, several numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness and validity of the algorithm.  相似文献

The monotonicity of a rational Bézier curve, usually related to an explicit function,is determined by the used coordinate system. However, the shape of the curve is independent of the coordinate system. To meet the affine invariant property, a kind of generalized monotonicity, called direction monotonicity, is introduced for rational Bézier curves. The direction monotonicity is applied to both planar and space curves and to both Cartesian and affine coordinate systems, and it includes the traditional monotonicity as a subcase. By means of it,proper affine coordinate systems may be chosen to make some rational Bézier curves monotonic.Direction monotonic interpolation may be realized for some of the traditionally nonmonotonic data as well.  相似文献

A cubic trigonometric Bézier curve analogous to the cubic Bézier curve, with two shape parameters, is presented in this work. The shape of the curve can be adjusted by altering the values of shape parameters while the control polygon is kept unchanged. With the shape parameters, the cubic trigonometric Bézier curves can be made close to the cubic Bézier curves or closer to the given control polygon than the cubic Bézier curves. The ellipses can be represented exactly using cubic trigonometric Bézier curves.  相似文献

A unifying representation for the existing generalized Ball bases and the Bernstein bases are given. Then the dual bases for the Bézier-Said-Wang type generalized bases (BSWGB for short) are presented. The Marsden identity and the mutual transformation formulas between Bézier curve and Bézier-Said-Wang type generalized curve (BSWGB curve) are also given. These results are very useful for the applications of BSWGB curves and their popularization in CAGD. Numerical examples are also given to show the effectiveness of our methods.  相似文献

An algorithmic approach to degree reduction of rational Bézier curves is presented. The algorithms are based on the degree reduction of polynomial Bézier curves.
