基于交叉相位调制的时间透镜可实现精确的二次相位调制, 但是它在光脉冲压缩领域的应用受到了抽运光脉冲的峰值功率过高的限制. 对该峰值功率的表达式进行了推导, 提出使用带有正色散的传输介质来实现输出段色散, 从而降低了抽运光脉冲的峰值功率.并进一步指出, 可以将基于交叉相位调制的时间透镜应用于4f系统, 来实现光脉冲压缩, 从而更有效地降低了抽运光脉冲的峰值功率. 推导了该系统的抽运光脉冲的峰值功率和分辨率的表达式, 并进行了光脉冲压缩的仿真分析.研究结果表明, 在基于交叉相位调制的4f系统中, 可以利用峰值功率较低的抽运光脉冲产生飞秒量级超短光脉冲; 随着压缩系数的提高, 输出光脉冲的脉冲宽度主要受到4f系统分辨率的限制, 并对4f系统分辨率的提高进行了讨论.  相似文献

A phase modulator is employed in the scheme of soliton pulse compression with dispersion shifted fiber (DSF). Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) effect, as a negative influence here, can be dramatically suppressed after optical phase modulation. The experimental result shows that the launched power required for high-order soliton pulse compression has been significantly increased by 11 dB under the condition of 100-MHz phase modulation. Accordingly, the experiment of picosecond pulse compression generated from electro-absorption sampling window (EASW) has also been implemented.  相似文献

We demonstrate a new technique for femtosecond-pulse generation that employs ultrafast modulation of a laser field phase by impulsively excited molecular rotational or vibrational motion with subsequent temporal compression. An ultrashort pump pulse at 800 nm performs impulsive excitation of a molecular gas in a hollow waveguide, and a weak delayed probe pulse at 400 nm is scattered on the temporal oscillations of its dielectric index. The resultant sinusoidal phase modulation of the probe pulse permits probe pulse temporal compression by use of both positively and negatively dispersive elements. The potential of this new method is demonstrated by the generation of a periodic train of 5.8-fs pulses at 400 nm with positive group-delay dispersion compensation.  相似文献

Frequency conversion of a continuous light wave based on multistage phase modulation has been investigated both analytically and numerically. The proposed frequency-conversion process consists of three stages: (i) phase modulation and chirp compression to generate a pulse train, (ii) Doppler shift of the pulse center frequency in a second phase modulation, and (iii) demodulation of the pulse train. By controlling the modulation power we can select the destination frequency from an equally spaced grid separated by the modulation frequency. A conversion efficiency of approximately 40% has been numerically confirmed with respect to a destination frequency of +/- 50 channels. Carrier frequency conversion of an analog data stream is numerically demonstrated.  相似文献

提出等离子体波对光脉冲产生相位调制的观点,把光脉冲在背景等离子体波中传播时的频率移动与脉宽压缩效应统一起来。给出了脉宽演化的方程,它类似于在势阱中运动的经典粒子的能量守恒方程;估算了脉宽压缩对应的等离子体波振幅阈值。数值计算进一步证实这些结论。最后指出实验上用等离子体波压缩短脉冲激光脉宽的可能性。 关键词:  相似文献

We show that in the presence of a bandwidth-limiting component intracavity selfphase modulation in high power mode-locked and Q-switched lasers is accompanied by interesting pulse-shaping phenomena. If the phase modulation is properly controlled the pulse duration can approach the limit given by the frequency bandwidth of the laser. For example, for a Nd: YAG laser our calculations predict an intracavity pulse compression by approximately a factor of ten over the typical pulse duration of conventional mode-locking.  相似文献

提出一种新的抑制离散效应的方法——非对称脉冲对法,并对采用该方法和采用非同步耦合法在基于脉冲对交叉相位调制对脉冲进行压缩过程中,对离散效应影响的抑制效果进行了研究.数值模拟的结果显示:对于峰值功率为10mW、半极大全宽度为5ps的高斯入射脉冲,采用非对称脉冲对法,可以获得压缩比为137、基座能量比为0122、峰值功率为116mW的压缩脉冲. 关键词: 交叉相位调制 离散效应 非同步耦合法 非对称脉冲对法  相似文献

通过数值模拟,分析了脉冲离散效应对单模光纤正群速色区基于暗孤子交叉不相位调制的脉冲压缩的影响,并提出了减轻这种影响的办法,作者发现,即使暗孤子与被压缩脉冲的中心波长相差很小,离散效应对脉冲压缩的影响也很大,离散效应不仅导致脉冲压缩比的减小和压缩后脉冲峰值功率的降低,而且还导致脉冲压缩所需最佳光纤长度的增加以及压缩后的脉冲呈现不对称性,还发现,若采取本文提出了的非同步耦合法,则可以明显地弥补离散效应  相似文献

The intracavity self-phase modulation in a picosecond Nd : glass laser and the external pulse compression in a grating pair arrangement is simulated. Fast-Fourier transforms are applied for the determination of the frequency spectra caused by self-phase modulation and the temporal shapes caused by grating pair pulse compression. We numerically study the pulse compression approaches based on atomic or molecular gases in a hollow-core fiber.From the perspective of self-phase modulation(SPM), we give the extensive study of the SPM influence on a probe pulse with molecular phase modulation(MPM) effect. By comparing the two compression methods, we summarize their advantages and drawbacks to obtain the few-cycle pulses with micro- or millijoule energies. It is also shown that the double pump-probe approach can be used as a tunable dual-color source by adjusting the time delay between pump and probe pulses to proper values.  相似文献

We show how an optimal control approach can be combined with the pump-probe technique for pulse compression by molecular phase modulation in hollow-core fibers to generate single 1-fs pulses in the visible. Varying the intensity and duration of the Gaussian-shaped pump pulse at the input induces optimal rotational response of the molecules. The probe pulse, which scatters off of the resulting time variation of the refractive index, is shaped at the input for optimal compression at the output, including dispersion to all orders.  相似文献

利用螺旋波导对频率调制脉冲进行压缩可大幅度提高脉冲峰值功率。利用所编Matlab程序对螺旋波导的色散特性进行了计算和分析,获得了波纹幅度和纵向周期长度等结构参数对其色散特性的影响规律;给出了脉冲功率压缩比的计算公式,对不同脉宽和频带宽度、不同频率调制形式的微波脉冲通过螺旋波导后的功率压缩比进行了计算和分析。计算表明:脉冲的频率调制形式对功率压缩比影响较大;相同频率调制形式下,脉冲长度越长,工作频带越宽,功率压缩比越高。为了获得尽可能高的功率压缩比,需对脉冲的频率变化方式进行调节,使其与螺旋波导色散特性匹配。同时还需要在高的功率压缩比和高的压缩效率之间做出权衡。计算得到,当注入脉冲的脉宽为40ns、工作频带为8.8~9.5GHz、频率调制形式与螺旋波导色散特性匹配时,功率压缩比达到了15,压缩效率约为40%。  相似文献

The dynamics of nonlinear pulse propagation in an average dispersion-managed soliton system is governed by a constant coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation. For a special set of parameters the constant coefficient NLS equation is completely integrable. The same constant coefficient NLS equation is also applicable to optical fiber systems with phase modulation or pulse compression. We also investigate MI arising in the cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation for ultrashort pulse propagation. Within this framework, we derive ordinary differential equations (ODE’s) for the time evolution of the amplitude and phase of modulation perturbations. Analyzing the ensuing ODE’s, we derive the classical modulational instability criterion and identify it numerically. We show that the quintic nonlinearity can be essential for the stability of solutions. The evolutions of modulational instability are numerically investigated and the effects of the quintic nonlinearity on the evolutions are examined. Numerical simulations demonstrate the validity of the analytical predictions.  相似文献

在高重复频率的光窄脉冲源中,为了获得更窄的脉冲,需要增加泵浦功率|但泵浦功率的提高会使光放大器的增益趋于饱和,放大的自发辐射噪音增强,脉冲光信噪比下降.为此,提出了利用啁啾管理和光纤光参量放大相结合的脉冲压窄方案.将强度调制后的泵浦光通过相位调制引入线性负啁啾,由于经参量过程后在新的闲频光上啁啾会加倍,从而进一步增大了信号的谱宽,并通过色散补偿介质实现了光脉冲压缩.实验给出了10 GHz速率下的结果,通过泵浦光的相位调制在0.5 W平均泵浦光功率条件下得到了脉宽19 ps的光脉冲,结果与理论分析基本吻合.  相似文献

提出一种基于互逆光纤色散的微波光子雷达系统设计方案,既可以产生宽带线性调频信号,又可以实现线性调频信号的光域脉冲压缩.在发射端利用互逆色散光纤产生线性调频信号.在接收端,雷达回波信号通过马赫-曾德调制器调制到预啁啾的光信号上,然后经过色散光纤的进一步色散.最终在探测器端可以得到目标回波信号脉冲压缩后的结果.该方案无需脉冲压缩过程中数字化和离线处理,且具有脉冲压缩比的调谐作用.理论、数值仿真和实验证明了该设计方案能有效进行线性调频信号的光域脉冲压缩.实验产生了C波段下时宽1.2ns,带宽3.2GHz的线性调频信号,并通过互逆色散光纤将该信号压缩到了0.09ns,脉冲压缩比达13.3.  相似文献

Peculiarities of the process of spectral compression through sum-frequency generation are discussed for the case when nonlinear-dispersive similariton generated from a part of the signal is used as a reference pulse. The compression efficiency depending on the initial pulse intensity is studied. The possibility of spectral compression is discussed in the absence of self-phase modulation, when the reference and signal pulses have the same durations and spectral bandwidths.  相似文献

本文从理论上分析了具有自相位调制的光脉冲在色散介质中的传播特性,从而解释了超短光脉冲的压缩机理;并用严谨的数学步骤,将各种文献中形式各异的非线性薛定谔方程归结为统一的形式,避免了因符号定义不同而易于引起的混淆。针对该方程的特点.找到了合适的数值求解法,利用微机获得了在不同色散的介质中,光脉冲振幅、频谱、相位、啁啾等沿光纤方向变化的定量关系曲线。结果表明:在正色散介质中,脉宽及带宽均展宽,而在负色散介质中,脉冲沿传播方向越来越窄,表现为孤子效应。最后结合光栅对,给出了用光纤、光栅对获得1.06μm超短光脉冲时系统各部分的最佳参量。  相似文献

The temporal Radon-Wigner transform (RWT), which is the squared modulus of the fractional Fourier transform (FRT) for a varying fractional order p, is here employed as a tool for pulse compression applications. To synthesize the compressed pulse, a selected FRT irradiance is optically produced employing a photonic device that combines phase modulation and dispersive transmission. For analysis purposes, the complete numerical generation of the RWT with 0 < p < 1 is proposed to select the value of p required for pulse compression. To this end, the amplitude and phase of the signal to be processed should be known. In order to obtain this information we use a method based on the recording of two different FRT irradiances of the pulse. The amplitude and phase errors of the recovered signal, which are inherent to the recording process, are discussed in connection with the RWT production. Numerical simulations were performed to illustrate the implementation of the proposed method. The technique is applied to compress signals commonly found in fiber optic transmission systems, such as chirped gaussian pulses, pulses distorted by second and third-order dispersion and nonlinear self-modulated pulses.  相似文献

In this paper,we report on the enhanced pulse compression due to the interaction between the positive third-order dispersion (TOD) and the nonlinear effect (cross-phase modulation effect) in birefringent fibres.Polarization soliton compression along the slow axis can be enhanced in a birefringent fibre with positive third-order dispersion,while the polarization soliton compression along the fast axis can be enhanced in the fibre with negative third-order dispersion.Moreover,there is an optimal third-order dispersion parameter for obtaining the optimal pulse compression.Redshifted initial chirp is helpful to the pulse compression,while blueshifted chirp is detrimental to the pulse compression.There is also an optimal chirp parameter to reach maximum pulse compression.The optimal pulse compression for TOD parameters under different N-order solitons is also found.  相似文献
