报道作者对单频窄宽光纤光栅外腔半导体激光器的一些研究结果。理论上分析了外腔的引入对激光器的阈值增益和光谱线宽的影响,实验上用自行研制的光纤布拉格反射滤波器(FBR)与普通多纵模半导体激光耦合,在1.55μm波段,得到边模抑制比大于25dB,线宽小于60kHz的激光输出。  相似文献

Frequency tunable semiconductor laser has potential applications in resonator integrated optic gyro (RIOG) for its small size and easy to be integrated. An alternative construction of frequency tunable semiconductor laser with planar waveguide external cavity is proposed in this paper. The frequency tuning section, which is placed between the active section and Bragg grating section, is designed to be one part of the waveguide external cavity. The slab etched grating, based on the silicon-on-isolator ridge waveguide, is adopted to narrow the width of reflectivity spectrum. After the theoretical analysis and simulations, the frequency modulation coefficient of 2.1 MHz/mA is obtained, and the power change is less than 3.6 × 10−4 dB/1.6 GHz. The proposed configuration combines the advantages of wavelength tunable laser and external cavity laser, and it can realize precision frequency tuning, ignored power fluctuation and narrow linewidth, which contribute much to RIOG.  相似文献

Frequency locking (FL) in a semiconductor laser with double incoherent optical feedback is experimentally studied, and the characteristics of the locking states are analyzed through comparing the RF spectrum of double incoherent optical feedback and single incoherent optical feedback. Moreover, by varying the external loops length ratio, different orders of frequency locking states are observed. The influence of feedback strength and cavity length on locking performance is preliminarily investigated and the optimized FL state is obtained. This experimental investigation may offer a method to obtain frequency spacing tunable discrete broad-band signals.  相似文献

本文由速率方程出发分析了带调谐光纤F-P腔的光纤环形腔半导体激光器的频偏特性,结果表明在低频时的频偏功率比自由运转激光器低,而在高频时则趋于一致。改变调制频率和F-P腔的腔长可以改变激光器的频偏功率比,选择适当的调制频率和F-P腔参数就能获得不同的频偏特性。  相似文献

In this paper, the performance of the wavelength conversion based on a tunable external cavity semiconductor laser (ECL) was studied. The static wavelength conversion was achieved in the tunable wavelength range of the ECL. The dynamic wavelength conversions of 155 Mb/s and 622 Mb/s nonreturn to zero (NRZ) signals were realized. The simulation of the ECL output characteristics using modified compound cavity rate equation shows that the higher bit rate wavelength conversion can be realized by increasing the relaxation oscillation frequency of the ECL. When the modulated bit rate is much lower than the relaxation oscillation frequency, under a fixed input signal power, there is an optimal bias current for the wavelength converter based on ECL.  相似文献

In this paper, a narrow-band tunable external-cavity semiconductor laser with the Littman set-up is reported. The laser system consists of a semiconductor laser, a blazed grating and an external mirror. Its sideband suppression ratio over 20 dB was obtained. Conveniently tuning in wavelength region of 797.38 - 807.26 nm was achieved. The laser is operating in single frequency with narrow linewidth smaller than 0.06 nm. The output beam has good directional stability when tuned.  相似文献
