仿真说明了单模光纤(SMF)中瑞利散射(RS)的机理, 指出纤芯掺杂的不均匀性以及拉丝过程引起的光纤几何尺寸的随机变化是光纤中RS产生的主要原因, 并以此为基础制作了损耗为0.54 dB/km的散射光纤. 在通信波段, 5 km该散射光纤的瑞利背向散射(RBS)强度高于相同长度的SMF-28近5 dB. 在基于RBS单模随机激光器的数值模拟中, 大量的具有随机幅度和相位的纵模在经历不平坦增益的多次放大之后, 只有在增益最大点附近的模式能够克服损耗成为输出模式. 实验中以掺铒光纤作为增益介质, 500 m散射光纤提供随机反馈, 窄带布拉格光纤光栅(FBG)作为波长选择器件, 得到线宽约3.5 kHz、对比度近50 dB的单模激光输出. 与采用相同长度SMF-28的随机激光器相比, 其阈值电流降低了80 mA, 相同抽运条件下的最大输出功率提高了3 dBm. 该单模窄线宽随机激光器的输出波长的调谐特性仅由FBG的中心波长决定.  相似文献

A theoretical model is derived by which the occurrence of the single and multiple emission line spectra of tunable microcrystal lasers is described. These spectra in general exhibit several emission lines, arising from the Stark-split atomic levels of the lasing ions in the crystal field. The model is based on the shift of the resonator frequencies due to the thermally induced shift of the optical resonator length and demonstrates that the coincidence of the resonator frequencies with the laser gain lines leads to the emission of single or multiple line spectra of microcrystal lasers. These spectra can be described by the model. The model is given as a set of criteria. In this way not only can predictions of the single emission-line tuning range be made but also resonator lengths can be optimized in order to obtain a maximum tuning range. Furthermore, Q-switched operation can be achieved for specific parameters by periodically shifting the resonator frequencies. The linewidth of the gain used in this model depends on the laser threshold and is folded with the thermal shift of the atomic transitions. Therefore the centre wavelength of the gain is assumed to be constant. The advantage is that this experimentally relevant linewidth can be measured easily with microcrystal lasers themselves, whereas spectroscopic data do not take laser threshold behaviour into account. It is shown that the results of the model are in good agreement with experimental data measured for two different Nd: YAG crystals. Simply by inserting other material and laser parameters, the model can easily be applied to other laser crystals and other wavelengths.  相似文献

 结合环形腔理论,运用蒙特卡罗法模拟了光子在介质中的随机行走。研究了倍频Nd:YAG(脉宽6 ns,频率20 Hz)脉冲激光器作为泵浦光,在TiO2 / 若丹明 B有机增益介质中,散射微粒的颗粒密度和泵浦光面积对随机激光器阈值强度的影响。模拟结果表明:随机激光阈值和光子在增益介质中的随机行走路程长度和光子通过边界返回增益区和非增益区的几率有关。随着泵浦光面积的增加,随机激光器阈值降低;增益介质中散射颗粒密度的增加降低了随机激光器的阈值。  相似文献

报道作者对单频窄宽光纤光栅外腔半导体激光器的一些研究结果。理论上分析了外腔的引入对激光器的阈值增益和光谱线宽的影响,实验上用自行研制的光纤布拉格反射滤波器(FBR)与普通多纵模半导体激光耦合,在1.55μm波段,得到边模抑制比大于25dB,线宽小于60kHz的激光输出。  相似文献

A multimode model of a continuously pumped atom laser is shown to be unstable below a critical value of the scattering length. Above the critical scattering length, the atom laser reaches a steady state, the stability of which increases with pumping. Below this limit the laser does not reach a steady state. This instability results from the competition between gain and loss for the excited states of the lasing mode. It will determine a fundamental limit for the linewidth of an atom laser beam.  相似文献

Intrinsic Brillouin linewidth is one of the essential parameters to optimize the gain spectrum of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). A novel method for the measurement of the intrinsic Brillouin line-width based on SBS slow light is proposed and demonstrated. In this method, an implicit model based on the transient SBS theory is developed, and a data processing method is designed to obtain the value of the intrinsic Brillouin linewidth from the model. The measured results show that the method is effective for studying SBS slow light.  相似文献

为提高液体介质中受激拉曼散射的输出能量,提出了通过温度调控来抑制受激布里渊散射的方法,设计了532 nm多纵模宽带脉冲激光泵浦的受激拉曼散射发生系统,测量了不同温度下水中前向受激拉曼散射及后向受激布里渊散射的输出能量,分析了水温、泵浦激光线宽及热散焦效应对受激拉曼散射输出能量影响的物理机制.实验结果表明:通过降低水温可实现对受激布里渊散射过程的有效抑制,同时减小热散焦效应带来的光束畸变,从而有效提高受激拉曼散射的输出能量.研究结果对液体介质中的受激拉曼散射多波长转换具有重要意义.  相似文献

We report on peculiar dynamic features of laser oscillation in a cavity with a semiconductor junction as the gain medium and an intracavity atomic absorber. The output face of the semiconductor is antireflection coated, and lasing action is achieved by using a diffraction grating to close the laser cavity. The spectral analysis of the laser emission evidences a stable emission with narrow linewidth when the oscillating frequency is resonant with the atomic absorber. We also observe frequency bistability and instability. The change between these regimes is controlled through the bias current in a very reproducible way.  相似文献

We report on the first observation of stimulated Raman scattering from a Lambda-type three-level atom, where the stimulation is realized by the vacuum field of a high-finesse optical cavity. The scheme produces one intracavity photon by means of an adiabatic passage technique based on a counterintuitive interaction sequence between pump laser and cavity field. This photon leaves the cavity through the less-reflecting mirror. The emission rate shows a characteristic dependence on the cavity and pump detuning, and the observed spectra have a subnatural linewidth. The results are in excellent agreement with numerical simulations.  相似文献

We have demonstrated stimulated Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering at a wavelength of 1.064 microm , using an injection-seeded Nd:YAG laser as a pump laser and a tunable diode laser as a probe laser. Spectra with a good signal-to-noise ratio are obtained despite the low probe-beam power and small gain coefficient in the infrared. Stimulated Rayleigh scattering is readily observable in organic and many other liquids because of absorption by the OH and CH overtone or combination bands. The absorption also causes an asymmetry in the stimulated Brillouin peak. A Rayleigh linewidth of 8 MHz is measured with this approach.  相似文献

基于简单的主振荡功率放大结构,演示了一种高功率窄线宽线性偏振全光纤激光器,其最大输出功率为3.08 kW,3 dB线宽为0.2 nm。在整个功率缩放过程中,偏振消光比约为94%,光束质量M 2约为1.4。这是国内外首次实现3 kW全保偏光纤激光输出,与基于相位调制的窄线宽激光器相比,该激光器可实现近似的线宽,同时具有受激布里渊散射阈值高、系统结构简单、成本低等特点。  相似文献

基于四能级受激准分子宽带泵浦碱金属激光器(XPAL)的工作机理建立了连续波半导体激光器泵浦的四能级XPAL理论模型,该模型基于速率方程,考虑泵浦光线宽与伴峰吸收线宽,采用迭代算法求解,主要用于分析半导体激光器连续泵浦四能级XPAL系统的泵浦阈值特性。讨论了温度、蒸气室长度、泵浦光线宽、输出耦合率和惰性气体粒子数密度对泵浦阈值的影响,结果表明激光器存在一个最佳温度可以使泵浦阈值达到最小,且在最佳温度附近较大范围内泵浦阈值不会有较大变化。除此之外,对蒸气室长度、输出耦合率、泵浦光线宽和惰性气体粒子数密度的分析表明,相较于惰性气体粒子数密度,其他参数的变化对泵浦阈值的影响较小。而较高的惰性气体粒子数密度可以有效提升增益介质对泵浦光的吸收从而降低阈值。  相似文献

窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤拉曼放大器在非线性频率变换、遥感探测和量子信息等领域有广泛的应用前景.综合考虑受激拉曼散射(stimulated Raman scattering,SRS)、受激布里渊散射(stimulated Brillouin scattering,SBS)、自相位调制(self-phase modulation)和交叉相位调制(cross-phase modulation)等非线性效应,建立了窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤拉曼放大器的非线性动力学模型.仿真分析了放大器中脉冲激光的时频演化特性,对比研究了抽运脉冲宽度、光纤长度和信号光功率等因素对放大器性能的影响.研究发现,上述因素会影响放大器的SRS阈值、SBS阈值、输出激光线宽、激光转换效率等.例如,当脉冲宽度为800 ns时,SBS随着抽运功率的增加而发生,限制了激光功率的提升;减短抽运脉宽可以抑制SBS,但是输出激光的线宽易于展宽到数百MHz以上;增加光纤长度可以获得更低的SRS阈值和更高的转换效率,但是SBS效应和光谱展宽程度也随之增强.系统搭建中需要平衡各非线性效应,选择合适的系统参数.研究内容可以为窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤拉曼放大器的设计搭建提供参考.  相似文献

We present a multi-population rate equation model for the analysis of the static and dynamic characteristics of a quantum dot (QD) semiconductor laser. The model is applied to the extraction of the differential gain and linewidth enhancement factor of the QD laser simulating the same kind of experiments usually done in the laboratory. Coherently with the experimental results, we show the difference between the values of the differential parameters extracted in below and above threshold characterizations. We demonstrate that such discrepancy is due the complex dynamics of the carriers in those energy states, whose carrier concentration is not clamped by the stimulated emission process above threshold.  相似文献

以速率方程为基础建立理论模型,采用迭代计算方法,对单程端面泵浦铷蒸气激光器的阈值特性进行了详细研究。研究表明,铷室温度和长度对阈值泵浦功率密度的影响具有等价性,存在使阈值功率密度达到最小的最佳铷室长度与温度组合。泵浦光线宽对阈值功率密度的影响基本呈线性;泵浦光线宽越宽,泵浦光中心波长与铷原子吸收波长的偏移量对阈值功率密度的影响越小;存在最佳的铷原子吸收线宽,使阈值功率密度达到最小;为减小阈值功率密度,铷室窗口片应尽量考虑镀膜,谐振腔输出耦合率不宜大于80%。  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental study was conducted aimed at achieving laser oscillation in the (a-X) electronic transition of oxygen molecules. Although this transition is highly forbidden by rigorous selection rules, it may nevertheless concede stimulated emission, if the population inversion is high enough. The idea is based on a recently developed apparatus, namely, a porous pipe type high-pressure chemical singlet oxygen generator. A numerical model which describes the characteristics of this generator was developed to estimate the population inversion and small-signal gain achievable in a laser cavity using this source. The calculations showed that the small-signal gain ought to be sufficient to achieve laser oscillation. Preliminary experiments were conducted, but lasing was not yet observed. It is shown that the scattering losses caused by water droplet aerosols are mainly responsible for preventing our system from laser oscillation.  相似文献

We measured the amplified spontaneous emission and laser emission from high-gain media of laser-dye encapsulated dendrimers. A highly branched poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM-OH) dendrimer formed a guest-host complex with a conventional laser-dye (DCM), resulting in a high optical-gain. Of particular note was the appearance of a laser threshold, above which a super-narrowed laser spectrum was observed, although laser feedback was caused without any mirror cavity devices. The optical feedback was attributed to spatial confinement of the light due to gain guiding under optical excitation. The laser spectrum clearly indicated a resonant laser-mode with a spectrum linewidth of less than 0.1 nm. This order of spectrum narrowing is comparable to that seen in the laser emission from ordinary laser devices.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power single-frequency master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) fiber laser.The central wavelength of the single-frequency fiber laser seed is 1 063.8 nm,with a linewidth narrower than 20 kHz and output power of 120 mW.By using two-stage amplification,a single-frequency fiber laser with an output power of 122 W is obtained,and the optical-optical conversion efficiency is 72%.No significant amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) or stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is observed.The output power can be further increased by launching more pump power.  相似文献

利用低官能度的丙烯酸酯单体进行全息液晶/聚合物光栅的制备, 获得了具有聚合物支撑形貌的光栅结构. 由于这种光栅内部不存在液晶微滴, 当作为分布反馈式激光器的谐振腔时, 可以有效降低光栅内部的散射损失(<4%), 降低激光腔损耗. 此外, 选用的高折射率单体提升了光栅的折射率调制量, 增强了光栅的反馈增益. 在以上两种因素的共同作用下, 采用染料DCM为激光工作物质, 以532 nm的Nd:YAG脉冲激光器作为抽运光源, 最终获得了中心波长为635 nm, 转化效率为1.2%的高性能激光, 在以阈值能量0.8 μJ/pulse抽运下获得激光线宽0.3 nm, 较之国内外同类激光器的报道, 在阈值、线宽、转化效率三方面均有不同程度提升.  相似文献
