The second-order nonlinear optical properties of green fluorescent proteins (GFPs), such as the photoswitchable Dronpa and enhanced GFP (EGFP), have been studied at both the theoretical and experimental levels. In the case of Dronpa, both approaches are consistent in showing the rather counterintuitive result of a larger second-order nonlinear polarizability (or first hyperpolarizability, beta) for the protonated state, which has a higher transition energy, than for the deprotonated, fluorescent state with its absorption at lower energy. Moreover, the value of beta for the protonated form of Dronpa is among the highest reported for proteins. In addition to the pH dependence, we have found a wavelength dependence in the beta values. These properties are essential for the practical use of Dronpa or other GFP-like fluorescent proteins as second-order nonlinear fluorophores for symmetry-sensitive nonlinear microscopy imaging and as nonlinear optical sensors for electrophysiological processes. An accurate value of the first hyperpolarizability is also essential for any qualitative analysis of the nonlinear images.  相似文献

A series of alpha,omega-diarylpolyynes has been synthesized. In addition to the synthesis of three hexaynes (3a-c), a notably improved synthesis of 1,16-diphenylhexadecaoctayne (5) is described. The third-order nonlinear optical characteristics for these molecules have been studied and show a substantial increase in molecular hyperpolarizability (gamma) as a function of increasing length. The unusual solid-state structures of compounds 3a and 3b are reported.  相似文献

The synthesis, photophysical and nonlinear optical properties of several new multi-octupolar tris(bipyridine) ruthenium complexes are reported. The preparation on these complexes is based on the initial construction of multipodal 4,4'-dialkylaminostyryl-2,2'-bipyridine ligands (DAAS-bpy). Thermally stable polyimides featuring octupolar ruthenium trisbipyridyl complexes have been readily obtained by a polycondensation reaction. The controlled coordination strategy of dipodal and tripodal bipyridines to ruthenium(II) has also been successfully used to build bimetallic, trimetallic as well as the first metallodendrimer made of seven metallo-octupoles. These polymetallic species exhibit very intense absorption bands in the visible and long-lived luminescence. The quadratic NLO-susceptibilities beta of these macromolecules have been characterized by harmonic light scattering at 1.91 microm and compared with those of the corresponding monometallic species. The NLO studies clearly demonstrates a quasi-supramolecular ordering in the metallodendrimer.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] Two types of trisaza-bridged [60]fulleroids have been synthesized for the first time. By means of (13)C NMR, (1)H NMR, MALDI-TOF MS, FTIR, UV-vis, and 2D-NMR (gHSQC, gHMBC, and NOSEY) spectroscopy, they have been shown to be tris[6,5]-opened-aza-bridged adducts with substituents on the same five-membered ring with C(s)() symmetry. Catalytic asymmetric 1,4-addition (conjugate addition; Michael addition) is one of the most powerful methods for carbon-carbon bond formation. Following the first efficient catalyst system developed by Feringa, which is composed of Cu(OTf)2 and phosphoramidite with dialkylzincs, a variety of chiral catalysts have been reported for the catalytic asymmetric conjugate addition. In this digest review, we will first summarize novel chiral ligands that work efficiently for cyclic and acyclic enones and demonstrate the wide applicability of Michael acceptors. We will also introduce unique phenomena that include the nonlinear effect and reversal of enantioselectivity. Organomagnesium reagents have also been used instead of organozincs. Finally, we introduce the recent examples of the synthesis of natural products based on the catalytic asymmetric reaction. The rare experimental studies into the mechanism of copper-catalyzed 1,4-addition reported by Kitamura and Noyori’s group are also introduced.  相似文献

Mathematical models of amperometric biosensors at three basic types of enzyme kinetics in nonstationary diffusion conditions are discussed. The models are based on nonstationary diffusion equations containing a linear term related to the first‐order and nonlinear term related to the Michaelis–Menten and ping–pong of the enzymatic reaction mechanism. In this paper, we obtain approximate closed‐form analytical solutions for the nonlinear equations under steady‐state condition by using the homotopy analysis method. Analytical expressions for concentrations of substrate and cosubstrate and corresponding current response have been derived for all possible values of parameters. Furthermore, in this work, the numerical simulation of the problem is also reported using Scilab/MATLAB program. An agreement between analytical and numerical results is noted.  相似文献

N-(4-nitrobenzylidene)-o-fluoroamine (1) and N-(3-nitrobenzylidene)-p-fluoroamine (2) have been synthesized. The crystal structures of both compounds have been defined by X-ray diffraction analysis, and characterized by FT-IR and UV-visible instrumental methods. The recorded spectrum by UV-visible spectroscopy for the investigated compounds show good transparency in the visible region, and have solvatochromic behavior in the UV region, implying nonzero microscopic first hyperpolarizability. We also report ab initio quantum chemical calculations of the electric dipole moments (mu) and the first hyperpolarizabilities (beta) of the studied compounds. Our results suggest that the investigated ligands might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with nonzero values.  相似文献

The electronic and vibrational contributions to the dipole moment, polarizabilities, and first hyperpolarizabilities of HArF are reported. These have been computed by using a series of systematically built basis sets and a hierarchy of computational methods. HArF has a very large first hyperpolarizability along the z axis. This has been rationalized by invoking the difference in the electronic structure between the ground and the first excited state. The argon fluorohydride has been recently derived and characterized. The present study provides complementary data for the understanding of the electronic structure of this interesting argon derivative.  相似文献

Two new N-salicylidene-N'-aroylhydrazines ligands have been prepared: N-4-diethylaminosalicylidene-N'-4-nitrobenzoyl-hydrazine (L(1)) and N-4-diethylaminosalicylidene-N'-4-(4-nitrophenylethylidene)-benzoyl-hydrazine (L(2)). The ligands are properly functionalized with strong electron donor-acceptor groups and are of potential interest in second-order nonlinear optics (NLO). Dimeric copper(II) and palladium(II) complexes with L(1) and L(2) have been prepared, and, starting from these, mononuclear acentric adducts with pyridine as a further ligand have been prepared and characterized. The X-ray structures of three adducts are also reported. The NLO activity of the adducts has been determined by EFISH measurements giving mubeta values up to 1500 x 10(-48) esu for an incident wavelength of 1.907 microm.  相似文献

FT-Raman and FT-IR spectra of the nonlinear optical crystal 1-(4-N,N-dimethylaminopyridinium) acetic acid bromide monohydrate have been recorded and analyzed. The equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers and the first order hyperpolarizability of the crystal have been calculated with the help of density functional theory computations. The assignments of the vibrational spectra have been carried out with the help of Scaled Quantum Mechanic force field theory. Optimized geometry gives the charge transfer interaction of the pyridine ring and the amino group in the electron-donor side of the nonlinear optic chromophore. Electron–phonon coupling and O–H?O interactions in making the molecule nonlinear optical active have been analyzed based on the vibrational spectral features. The Natural Bond Orbital analysis confirms the occurrence of strong intermolecular O–H?O hydrogen bonding.  相似文献

检验分子晶体非线性光学极化率的可加性,对于确认有向气体模型(Oriented-Gas Model) 具有重要的科学意义,对探索新型实用的分子非线性光学材料也有实际的意义。本文对尿素晶体中分子簇非线性光学极化率的可加性做了详尽的理论研究。首次做到了尿素分子最近邻排布团簇的非线性光学极化率的从头算,从而扩展了前人的工作。研究结果有效地确认了有向气体模型。同时,我们还提出了壳层结构模型 (Shell-Structure Model),用以解决有向气体模型中的缺陷,可实现更为有效可靠地计算晶体宏观非线性光学系数。  相似文献

The rigorous structural characterization of novobiocin, is reported using mass spectrometric, infrared and nmr spectroscopic analysis. Complete nmr assignments are reported. Previous reports in the literature had left some quaternary carbon resonances unassigned. Isonovobiocin and decarbamylnovobiocin, although known in the literature for a number of years, have never been completely characterized. Mass spectrometric fragmentation pathways and complete 1H and 13C nmr assignments are reported for these congeners for the first time. The mass spectral fragmentation pathway and nmr assignments are also reported for 2″-(O-carbamyl)novobiocin although the nmr assignments at lower field were reported previously. The structural characterization of novobiocin-2″,3″-carbonate observed in the Test Assay procedure used for Novobiocin is reported for the first time.  相似文献

The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 7-amino-8-oxo-3-vinyl-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid (7AVCA) were recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-10 cm(-1), respectively. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers were carried out by ab initio HF and density functional theoretical methods invoking 6-311G(d,p) basis set. The differences between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals are very small. The electric dipole moment (μ) and the first order hyperpolarizability (β0) values have been computed quantum mechanically. The calculated results show that 7AVCA may have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 7AVCA is reported. The theoretical IR and Raman spectra of 7AVCA have also been constructed. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that the charge transfer occurs within the molecule.  相似文献

Six new nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores with pyrazinyl-pyridinium electron acceptors have been synthesized by complexing a known pro-ligand with electron donating {Ru(II)(NH(3))(5)}(2+) or trans-{Ru(II)(NH(3))(4)(py)}(2+) (py = pyridine) centers. These cationic complexes have been characterized as their PF(6)(-) salts by using various techniques including electronic absorption spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The visible d → π* metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) absorptions gain intensity on increasing the number of Ru(II) centers from one to two, but remain at constant energy. One or two Ru(III/II) redox processes are observed which are reversible, quasi-reversible, or irreversible, while all of the ligand-based reductions are irreversible. Molecular first hyperpolarizabilities β have been determined by using hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) at 1064 nm, and depolarization studies show that the NLO responses of the symmetric species are strongly two-dimensional (2D) in character, with dominant "off-diagonal" β(zyy) components. Stark (electroabsorption) spectroscopic measurements on the MLCT bands also allow the indirect determination of estimated static first hyperpolarizabilities β(0). Both the HRS and the Stark-derived β(0) values increase on moving from mono- to bimetallic complexes, and substantial enhancements in NLO response are achieved when compared with one-dimensional (1D) and 2D monometallic Ru(II) ammine complexes reported previously.  相似文献

The synthesis and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of a series of nitrostilbene-, dinitrostilbene-, and dicyanomethylenedihydrofuran-based chromophores potentially useful in photorefractive multifunctional polymers are reported. Electronic absorption spectra have been measured in different solvents. Electric field induced second harmonic (EFISH) generation results show that the 2-dicyanomethylen-3-cyano-5,5-dimethyl-2,5-dihydrofuran moieties lead to the best NLO performances. Dinitrophenyl-based chromophores have shown a reduced nonlinear response as compared with the mononitro analogues. Nonlinear optical properties of a selected nitro-dinitro couple have been also determined theoretically.  相似文献

N,N'-(2-Hydroxy-propane-1,3-diyl)-bis(5-nitrosalicylaldiminato-N,O)-copper(II) has been synthesized. The crystal structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction analysis, and linear optical characterization has been determined by UV-vis spectroscopy. It was found that the molecule under investigation has solvatochromic behaviour in the UV region, implying non-zero microscopic first hyperpolarizability. To reveal the microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) properties, the static first hyperpolarizabilities (beta) and the electric dipole moments (mu) were evaluated by using the ab initio finite field (FF) method. According to the results of the FF calculations, the synthesized compound exhibits non-zero beta values, and it might have microscopic NLO behaviour.  相似文献

This paper presents calculations of dipole moments (mu), static polarizabilities (alpha), and first hyperpolarizabilities (beta) of phosphonic acid stilbene derivatives calculated in the framework of density functional theory. These calculations were performed using a finite field approach implemented in the density functional program ALLCHEM and were of an all-electron type using local exchange-correlation functional and specially designed basis sets. The molecular structures have been fully optimized using the semiempirical program MSINDO. Some of the investigated stilbenes have been synthesized very recently while others are described for the first time. Donor and acceptor groups of these analogues have been modified and the influence of these changes on the first hyperpolarizabilities has been investigated. This work demonstrates that the nonlinear optical response beta of these compounds increases dramatically when the acceptor moiety is displaced by analogues containing alkali metal groups. A general mechanism for the design of novel nonlinear optical materials with large first hyperpolarizabilities is described.  相似文献

High level ab initio electronic structure calculations at the CCSD(T) level with augmented correlation-consistent basis set extrapolated to complete basis set limit have been performed on XBS and XBS+ for X=H, F, and Cl. The geometries have been optimized up through the aug-cc-pV5Z level and the vibrational frequencies have been calculated with the aug-cc-pVQZ basis sets. Analysis of the bonding in XBS and XBS+ using natural bond orbital analysis shows that the BS bond in XBS is a triple bond, while in XBS+ it is a double bond. The energetic properties of XBS cation and its first excited state are reported. The calculated adiabatic ionization potential is 11.11+/-0.01 eV as compared to the experimental value of 11.11+/-0.03 eV for HBS. The adiabatic ionization potentials for FBS and CIBS are 10.89+/-0.01 and 10.57+/-0.01 eV, respectively.  相似文献
