New complexes with six ferrocenyl (Fc) groups connected to ZnII or CdII tris(2,2′‐bipyridyl) cores are described. A thorough characterisation of their BPh4? salts includes two single‐crystal X‐ray structures, highly unusual for such species with multiple, extended substituents. Intense, visible d(FeII)→π* metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) bands accompany the π→π* intraligand charge‐transfer absorptions in the near UV region. Each complex shows a single, fully reversible FeIII/II wave when probed electrochemically. Molecular quadratic nonlinear optical (NLO) responses are determined by using hyper‐Rayleigh scattering and Stark spectroscopy. The latter gives static first hyperpolarisabilities β0 reaching as high as approximately 10?27 esu and generally increasing with π‐conjugation extension. Z‐scan cubic NLO measurements reveal high two‐photon absorption cross‐sections σ2 of up to 5400 GM in one case. DFT calculations reproduce the π‐conjugation dependence of β0, and TD‐DFT predicts three transitions close in energy contributing to the MLCT bands. The lowest energy transition has octupolar character, whereas the other two are degenerate and dipolar in nature.  相似文献

Molar extinction coefficients of some carbohydrates viz. l-arabinose (C5H10O5), d-glucose (C6H12O6), d-mannose (C6H12O6), d-galactose (C6H12O6), d(-) fructose (C6H12O6) and maltose (C12H24O12) in aqueous solutions have been determined at 81, 356, 511, 662, 1173 and 1332 keV by gamma ray transmission method in a narrow beam good geometry set-up. These coefficients have been found to depend upon the photon energy following a 4-parameter polynomial. These extinction coefficients for different sugars having the same molecular formula have same values varying within experimental uncertainty. Within concentration ranges studied, Beer-Lambert law is obeyed very well.  相似文献

Six new nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores with pyrazinyl-pyridinium electron acceptors have been synthesized by complexing a known pro-ligand with electron donating {Ru(II)(NH(3))(5)}(2+) or trans-{Ru(II)(NH(3))(4)(py)}(2+) (py = pyridine) centers. These cationic complexes have been characterized as their PF(6)(-) salts by using various techniques including electronic absorption spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The visible d → π* metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) absorptions gain intensity on increasing the number of Ru(II) centers from one to two, but remain at constant energy. One or two Ru(III/II) redox processes are observed which are reversible, quasi-reversible, or irreversible, while all of the ligand-based reductions are irreversible. Molecular first hyperpolarizabilities β have been determined by using hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) at 1064 nm, and depolarization studies show that the NLO responses of the symmetric species are strongly two-dimensional (2D) in character, with dominant "off-diagonal" β(zyy) components. Stark (electroabsorption) spectroscopic measurements on the MLCT bands also allow the indirect determination of estimated static first hyperpolarizabilities β(0). Both the HRS and the Stark-derived β(0) values increase on moving from mono- to bimetallic complexes, and substantial enhancements in NLO response are achieved when compared with one-dimensional (1D) and 2D monometallic Ru(II) ammine complexes reported previously.  相似文献

Fipronil, a phenylpyrazole insecticide introduced for pest control on a broad range of crops, can also affect non-target insects such as honeybees. More widely, non-target environment such as milk produced by dairy cows fed with maize silage from treated seeds (=silage T) can be affected. To assess the potential transfer of fipronil residues (sulfone, sulfide, fipronil, desulfinyl and amide), a methodology including gas chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) analysis was developed and validated according to the 2002/657/EC decision, in order to reach a level of quantification below 0.1 μg L−1 in milk and 0.1 μg kg−1 in plants. Twelve dairy cows were fed with silage T during 4 months. Concentration of fipronil in treated seeds was estimated at 1 g kg−1, whereas silage from these seeds contained 0.30 ± 0.05 μg kg−1 of dry material of fipronil, 0.13 ± 0.03 μg kg−1 of dry material of sulfone. Sulfide residues were below the limit of quantification. Silage from untreated seeds (=silage U) presented traces of fipronil and sulfone, respectively at 0.04 ± 0.06 and 0.02 ± 0.03 μg kg−1 of dry material. Contribution of fipronil residues from supplies was insignificant. During administration of silage T, only sulfone residues were quantified in milk. The average concentration was 0.14 ± 0.05 μg L−1. Before and after administration, sulfone residues were detected but not quantifiable (<0.025 μg L−1). Our results suggest a transfer of fipronil from feed to milk under its sulfone form. Moreover, traces of fipronil residues in maize U, soya, wheat and straw show a diffuse contamination of this pesticide in the environment.  相似文献

Differences in the self-exchange and interfacial electron-transfer rate constants have been evaluated for a relatively unhindered Os(III/II) redox system, osmium(III/II) tris(4,4'-di-methyl-2,2'-bipyridyl), [Os(Me2bpy)3]3+/2+, relative to those of a relatively hindered system, osmium(III/II) tris(4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridyl), [Os(t-Bu2bpy)3]3+/2+. In contrast to the predicted increase in rate constant by a factor of 2-3 due to the difference in reorganization energy of the two complexes, introduction of the tert-butyl functionality decreased the self-exchange rate constant, as measured by NMR line-broadening techniques, by a factor of approximately 50 as compared to that of the analogous methyl-substituted osmium complex. Steady-state current density versus potential measurements, in conjunction with differential capacitance versus potential measurements, were used to compare the interfacial electron-transfer rate constants at n-type ZnO electrodes of [Os(t-Bu2bpy)3]3+/2+ and [Os(Me2bpy)3]3+/2+. The interfacial electron-transfer rate constant for the reduction of [Os(t-Bu2bpy)3]3+ was 100 times smaller than that for [Os(Me2bpy)3]3+. The results indicate that the tert-butyl group can act as a spacer on an outer-sphere redox couple and significantly decrease the electronic coupling of the electron-transfer reaction in both self-exchange and interfacial electron-transfer processes.  相似文献

Electroabsorption (Stark) spectroscopy has been used to study the dye sensitized interfacial electron transfer in an Fe(II)(CN)(6)(4)(-) donor complex bound to a TiO(2) nanoparticle. The average charge-transfer distance determined from the Stark spectra is 5.3 A. This value is similar to the estimated distance between the Fe(II) center of the complex and the Ti(IV) surface site coordinated to the nitrogen end of a bridging CN ligand in (CN)(5)Fe(II)-CN-Ti(IV)(particle). This finding suggests that the electron injection is to either an individual titanium surface site or a small number of Ti centers localized around the point of ferrocyanide coordination to the particle and not into a conduction band orbital delocalized over the nanoparticle. The polarizability change, Tr(Deltaalpha), between the ground and the excited states of the Fe(II)(CN)(6)(4)(-)-TiO(2)(particle) system is approximately 3 time larger than normally observed in mixed-valence dinuclear metal complexes. It is proposed that the large polarizability of the excited state increases the dipole-moment changes measured by Stark spectroscopy.  相似文献

The fate of DNA and protein transgenic sequences in products derived from animals fed transgenic crops has recently raised public interest. Sensitive molecular tests targeting the Bt176 genetic construct and the transgenic Cry1Ab protein were developed to determine whether plant sequences, especially transgenic sequences, are present in animal products. A protocol for total DNA extraction and purification from cow whole blood samples was first drawn up and assessed by spiking with known amounts of DNA from Bt176 maize. The limit of detection for transgenic sequences (35S promoter and Bt176-specific junction sequence) was determined by both the polymerase chain reaction-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (PCR-ELISA) and the 5'-nuclease PCR assay. Four additional PCR systems were built to substantiate the results. The first detects a mono-copy maize-specific sequence (ADH promoter). Two others target multi-copy sequences from plant nucleus (26S rRNA gene) and chloroplast (psaB gene). The last one, used as a positive control, targets a mono-copy animal sequence (alpha(s1)-casein gene). Both methods detected a minimum spiking at 25 copies of Bt176 maize/mL in 10 mL whole blood samples. The sandwich ELISA kit used detected down to 1 ng transgenic Cry1Ab protein/mL spiked whole blood.  相似文献

Oxide-terminated and Cl-terminated GaAs(111)A surfaces have been characterized in the As and Ga 3d regions by high-resolution, soft X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The Cl-terminated surface, formed by treatment with 6 M HCl(aq), showed no detectable As oxides or As(0) in the As 3d region. The Ga 3d spectrum of the Cl-terminated surface showed a broad, intense signal at 19.4 eV and a smaller signal at 21.7 eV. The Ga 3d peaks were fitted using three species, one representing bulk GaAs and the others representing two chemical species on the surface. The large peak was well-fitted by the bulk GaAs emission and by a second doublet, assigned to surface Ga atoms bonded to Cl, that was shifted by 0.34 eV from the bulk GaAs 3d emission. The smaller peak, shifted by 2.3 eV in binding energy relative to the bulk GaAs Ga 3d signal, is assigned to Ga(OH)3. The data confirm that wet chemical etching allows for the formation of well-defined, Cl-terminated GaAs(111)A surfaces free of detectable elemental As, that can provide a starting point for further functionalization of GaAs.  相似文献

The Fermi golden rule formalism has been used to derive the rate constant for interfacial electron transfer from a semimetallic electrode, such as highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG), to a redox couple in solution. A simple expression is presented that semiquantitatively relates the electron-transfer rate constant at a semimetallic electrode to that at a metallic electrode. The approach allows for the estimation of the value of the rate constant for interfacial charge transfer to nonadsorbing outer-sphere redox species at semimetallic electrodes. Rate constants for interfacial electron transfer for a variety of one-electron redox couples at semimetallic electrodes have been calculated relative to the rate constant of the ferrocenium/ferrocene redox couple at a gold electrode. Good agreement is found, in general, between the calculated and observed rate constants.  相似文献
