Singular perturbation problems occur in many areas, including biochemical kinetics, genetics, plasma physics, and mechanical and electrical systems. For practical problems, one seeks a uniformly valid, readily interpretable approximation to a solution that does not behave uniformly. In this paper we extend singular perturbation theory in ordinary differential equations to delay differential equations with a fixed lag. We aim to give an explicit sufficient condition so that the solution of a class of singularly perturbed delay differential equations can be asymptotically expanded. O'Malley-Hoppensteadt technique is adopted in the construction of approximate solutions for such problems. Some particular phenomena different from singularly perturbed ordinary differential equations are discovered.  相似文献

In this paper the development of the method presented in [1] is carried out with application to two types of integral equations encountered in mathematical physics in the investigation of many mixed problems with circular separation line of boundary conditions and in the investigation of plane mixed problems.

The algorithm is given for reducing these integral equations to solution of equivalent infinite linear algebraic systems. It is proved that the resulting infinite systems are quasi completely regular for sufficiently large values of dimensionless parameter A which enters into the systems. It is shown that reduction (truncation) of infinite systems results in finite systems of linear algebraic equations with almost triangular matrices. The last circumstance simplifies considerably the solution of these finite systems after which the solution of initial integral equations is found from simple equations. For given accuracy of the approximate solution and decrease of parameter λ the number of equations in reduced systems increases.

As an example the solution is presented for the axisymmetric problem of a die acting on an elastic layer lying without friction on a rigid foundation.  相似文献

We prove a theorem on the reduction of the Goursat problem in integral form to an equivalent system of two Fredholm integral equations of the second kind and a uniqueness theorem for its solution. We suggest a method for reducing nonlocal characteristic and mixed problems, including the Samarskii problem for a second-order differential equation, to local problems for partial differential equations of higher order. We present examples illustrating the importance of the condition ensuring the uniqueness of the solution of the problems in question.  相似文献

Model problems for elliptic equations are considered. The time-derivative of a solution can be contained in the boundary condition or in the conjugation condition. Suich problems appear, for example, in the study of free boundary problems for elliptic equations that can be considered as quasistationary approximations to free boundary problems for parabolic equations. It is shown that hypersingular integral equations may be used for numerical solution of diffraction problems for electromagnetic waves on magneto-dielectric bodies. The problem is reducible to surface equations with simple kernels, which permit applying numerical schemes previously developed for ideally conducting objects. Regularized equations describing hydrodynamic flows in the two-layer shallow water approximation are constructed. A conditionally stable finite-difference scheme based on the finitevolume method is proposed for the numerical solution of these equations. 对于结构动力分析中的离散系统运动方程,现有算法的计算精度和效率均依赖于时间步长的选取,这是时间域问题求解的难点.基于EEP(element energy projection)超收敛计算的自适应有限元法,以EEP超收敛解代替未知真解,估计常规有限元解的误差,并自动细分网格,目前已对诸类以空间坐标为自变量的边值问题取得成功.对离散系统运动方程建立弱型Galerkin有限元解,引入基于EEP法的自适应求解策略,在时间域上自动划分网格,最终得到所求时域内任一时刻均满足给定误差限的动位移解,进而建立了一种时间域上的新型自适应求解算法.  相似文献

A method is considered for the numerical solution of quasi-linearpartial differential equations. The partial differential equationis reduced to a set of ordinary differential equations usinga Chebyshev series expansion. The exact solution of this setof ordinary differential equations is shown to be the solutionof a perturbed form of the original equation. The Sumudu transform is an integral transform introduced to solve differential equations and control engineering problems. The transform possesses many interesting properties that make visualization easier and application has been demonstrated in the solution of partial differential equations, integral equations, integro-differential equations and dynamic/dynamic-differential systems. In this note, application of the method of Sumudu transform to the solution of discrete dynamic systems is described. Derivations find ready application in recurrence relations. This paper is concerned with the zero Mach number limit of the three-dimension- al compressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations. More precisely, based on the local existence of the three-dimensional compressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations, first the convergence-stability principle is established. Then it is shown that, when the Mach number is sufficiently small, the periodic initial value problems of the equations have a unique smooth solution in the time interval, where the incompressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations have a smooth solution. When the latter has a global smooth solution, the maximal existence time for the former tends to infinity as the Mach number goes to zero. Moreover, the authors prove the convergence of smooth solutions of the equations towards those of the incompressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations with a sharp convergence rate.  相似文献

This series of papers addresses three interrelated problems: the solution of a variational minimization problem, the solution of integral equations, and the solution of an initial-valued system of integro-differential equations. It will be shown that a large class of minimization problems requires the solution of linear Fredholm integral equations. It has also been shown that the solution of a linear Fredholm integral equation is identical to the solution of a Cauchy system. In this paper, we bypass the Fredholm integral equations and show that the minimization problem directly implies a solution of a Cauchy system. In this paper, the schemes of the alternating triangular method are set out in the class of splitting methods used for the approximate solution of Cauchy problems for evolutionary problems. These schemes are based on splitting the problem operator into two operators that are conjugate transposes of each other. Economical schemes for the numerical solution of boundary value problems for parabolic equations are designed on the basis of an explicit-implicit splitting of the problem operator. The alternating triangular method is also of interest for the construction of numerical algorithms that solve boundary value problems for systems of partial differential equations and vector systems. The conventional schemes of the alternating triangular method used for first-order evolutionary equations are two-level ones. The approximation properties of such splitting methods can be improved by transiting to three-level schemes. Their construction is based on a general principle for improving the properties of difference schemes, namely, on the regularization principle of A.A. Samarskii. The analysis conducted in this paper is based on the general stability (or correctness) theory of operator-difference schemes.  相似文献

This article is concerned with the numerical solution of multiobjective control problems associated with linear partial differential equations. More precisely, for such problems, we look for the Nash equilibrium, which is the solution to a noncooperative game. First, we study the continuous case. Then, to compute the solution of the problem, we combine finite-difference methods for the time discretization, finite-element methods for the space discretization, and conjugate-gradient algorithms for the iterative solution of the discrete control problems. Finally, we apply the above methodology to the solution of several tests problems.  相似文献
