Synthesis of titanium oxide film by plasma oxidization of the metallic films is investigated. Argon/oxygen gas mixture in the pressure range 30 × 10?2 mbar is used for plasma processing at a frequency of 250 kHz. The plasma‐oxidized films are annealed in a tube furnace in argon atmosphere to establish crystalline‐phase formation. X‐ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopic results manifest peaks corresponding to rutile TiO2. Ultraviolet‐Visible (UV‐Vis) spectroscopic analysis confirms the bandgap of rutile TiO2, and photoluminescence spectra exhibit peaks due to oxygen defects. Homogeneity across the film's thickness and the nature of the film substrate interface is studied by depth profiling acquired using secondary ion mass spectrometry. It has often been suggested that anatase–rutile mixtures/composites synergistically enhance photocatalysis. However, in the case of dense thin‐films containing an intimate mix of both anatase and rutile phases, such an effect has not been observed. In synthesising combinatorial films with graded film thickness and phase, and applying established photocatalytic mapping methods, we were able to assess how dense thin‐films of intimately mixed anatase–rutile mixtures affect photocatalytic performance. We found that no photocatalytic synergy between anatase–rutile composites (29≤rutile %≤83) within such dense thin‐film systems exists. In fact, an increased presence of rutile caused the photocatalytic activity to fall. This was explained by the unfavourable energetics in the multiple electron transfers required between several neighbouring rutile and anatase sites for the photo‐generated electron to reach the material’s surface; encouraging the trapping of electrons within the bulk and increasing the likelihood of charge recombination. The decrease in photocatalytic activity was found to vary linearly with rutile component.  相似文献

利用射频磁控溅射技术在熔融石英基片上制备TiO<,2>薄膜,采用X射线衍射、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、拉曼光谱以及透过谱研究了退火温度和退火气氛对TiO<,2>薄膜的结构、形貌和光学特性的影响.实验结果表明:在大气环境下退火,退火温度越.高,薄膜晶化越好,晶粒明显长大,温度高于700℃退火的薄膜,金红石相已明显形成.实验还发现,退火气氛对金红石相的形成是非常重要的,拉曼光谱反应出Ar气氛退火,抑制了金红石晶相的发育,薄膜仍以锐钛矿相为主.Ar气氛退火的薄膜在可见光范围内的透过率比大气退火的要低,并且由透过率曲线推知:金红石的光学带隙约为2.8 eV,比锐钛矿的光学带隙小0.2 eV.  相似文献

Oxide films, 7–10 µm thick, were produced on commercially pure titanium by plasma electrolytic oxidation in a sodium orthophosphate electrolyte using a pulsed unipolar current with frequency (f) and duty cycle (δ) varying within f = 0.1–10 kHz and δ = 0.8–0.2, respectively. The coatings comprised a mixture of an amorphous phase with nanocrystalline anatase and rutile phases, where the relative rutile content range was 17–25 wt%. Incorporation of phosphorus from the electrolyte into the coating in the form of PO2 , PO3 2– and PO4 3–, as demonstrated by EDX and FT-IR analyses, contributed to the formation of the amorphous phase. Residual stresses associated with the crystalline coating phase constituents were evaluated using the X-ray diffraction sin2 ψ method. It was found that, depending on the treatment parameters, internal direct and shear stresses in anatase ranged from–205 (±17) to–431 (±27) MPa and from–98 (±6) to–145 (±10) MPa, respectively, whereas the rutile structure is comparatively stress-free.  相似文献

High-quality Fe-doped TiO2 films are epitaxially grown on MgF2 substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The x-ray diffraction and Raman spectra prove that they are of pure rutile phase. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) further demonstrates that the epitaxial relationship between rutile-phased TiO2 and MgF2 substrates is 110 TiO22. The room temperature ferromagnetism is detected by alternative gradient magnetometer. By increasing the ambient oxygen pressure, magnetization shows that it decreases monotonically while absorption edge shows a red shift. The transport property measurement demonstrates a strong correlation between magnetization and carrier concentration. The influence of ambient oxygen pressure on magnetization can be well explained by a modified bound magnetization polarization model.  相似文献

Residual chlorines, which originate from HAuCl4, enhance the aggregation of gold (Au) nanoparticles and clusters, preventing the generation of highly active supported Au catalysts. However, the detailed mechanism of residual-chlorine-promoted aggregation of Au is unknown. Herein to investigate this mechanism, density functional theory (DFT) calculations of Au and Cl adsorption onto a reduced rutile TiO2 (110) surface were performed using a generalised gradient approximation Perdew, Burke, and Ernzerhof formula (GGA–PBE) functional and plane-wave basis. Although both Au and Cl atoms prefer to mono-absorb onto oxygen defect sites, Cl atoms have a stronger absorption onto a reduced TiO2 (110) surface, abbreviated as rTiO2 (110) in the following, than Au atoms. Additionally, co-adsorption of a Cl atom and a Au atom or Au nanorod onto a rTiO2 surface was investigated; Cl adsorption onto an oxygen defect site weakens the interaction between a Au atom or Au nanorod and rTiO2 (110) surface. The calculation results suggest that the depletion of interaction between Au and rTiO2 surface is due to strong interaction between Cl atoms at oxygen defect sites and neighbouring bridging oxygen (OB) atoms.  相似文献

分别以SnCl2.2H2O和SnCl2.5H2O为锡源,采用胶溶晶核法,经沉淀和胶溶过程,在液相中一步合成了金红石型TiO2。详细考察了各种胶溶条件对产物结构的影响,并通过两种锡源实验结果的比较对异相晶核法中两种锡源的成晶机理进行了分析,所合成的金红石型TiO2晶粒度为20-50nm,两种方法获得完全红金石型TiO2所需引入SnO2的最低物质的量的分数分别为10%和8%。  相似文献

The photocatalytic characteristics of nanostructured TiO2 ultrafine powder with rutile phase produced using the homogeneous precipitation process at low temperatures (HPPLT) were compared with those of commercial P-25 TiO2 powder by flame hydrolysis. The TiO2 powder by the HPPLT showed much higher photoactivity in the removal rate, showing lower pH values in the solution than the P-25 powder when eliminating metal ions such as Pb and Cu from the aqueous metal-EDTA solutions. This can be inferred as the more rapid photo-oxidation or -reduction of metal ions from the aqueous solution, together with relatively higher efficiencies in the use of an electron-hole pair formed on the surface of the TiO2 particles under UV light irradiation. Also, in the view of the TiO2 particle morphology, compared to the well-dispersed spherical P-25 particles, the agglomerated TiO2 secondary particles by the HPPLT consist of acicular typed primary particles with a thickness in the range of 3–7 nm and the primary particles radialize in all directions, which would be more effective to photocatalytic reactions without the large electron-hole recombination on the surface of the TiO2 particle under UV light irradiation. It can be, therefore, thought that the higher photoactivity of the rutile TiO2 powder by the HPPLT in the aqueous solutions results mainly from having a larger surface area by the acicular shaped primary particles with very thin thickness and radialization in all directions.  相似文献

The transient absorption properties of several commercially available TiO2 photocatalysts were investigated by femtosecond diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy. Using femtosecond diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy, the quantities and rates of the initial trapping processes of holes and electrons generated by the photoexcitation of TiO2 photocatalysts were investigated. It was found that the total amounts of trapped electrons for the pure-anatase and pure-rutile TiO2 became smaller with increasing particle size, but increased again when the particles’ diameters were larger than 50 nm. The anatase–rutile mixed TiO2 photocatalysts were found to have smaller amounts of trapped electrons compared with pure-anatase and pure-rutile TiO2 photocatalysts. The lifetimes of trapped holes of various TiO2 photocatalysts were also investigated, and it was found that the lifetimes were proportional to the anatase–rutile mixed ratios.  相似文献

The transmission factor of multilayer Wood filters containing quartz and rutile layers was simulated in order to avoid the experimental trials for obtaining optical filters with predicted transmission. The main refractive indices of uniaxial crystals—quartz and rutile—were interferometrically determined and Cauchy constants were obtained by simulation. The transmission factor of optical devices consisting of quartz and rutile layers was simulated using the Maple Program.  相似文献
