One-pot amination of cage hydrocarbons

A one-pot procedure has been proposed for the synthesis of amines directly from cage hydrocarbons. A number of cage amines have been synthesized by treatment of adamantane, its homologs, and structurally related cage hydrocarbons with nitric acid in acetic acid and subsequent addition of urea and heating.     

Synthesis of di(adamantylalkyl) tosyloxymethylphosphonates and di(adamantyloxyalkyl) tosyloxymethylphosphonates

A simple method for the synthesis of esters of tosyloxymethylphosphonic acid based on the adamantane series of alcohols and diethyl tosyloxymethyl phosphonate was developed. The di(adamantylalkyl) and di(adamantyloxyalkyl) tosyloxymethylphosphonates are of interest as key compounds in the synthesis of antiviral drugs of the nucleoside phosphonate class.     

Interrelation between Self-Diffusion,Viscosity, and Optical Properties of Organic Liquids

The possibility of general correlation analysis of the self-diffusion coefficients and dynamic viscosity coefficients of low-molecular-weight liquid organic nonelectrolytes was studied. An attempt was made to obtain common dependences suitable for calculating the self-diffusion and viscosity coefficients.

Lattice dynamics and ion transport in structurally disordered chalcogenides of copper and silver

The results of studying the copper and silver selenides and their solid solutions are reported. The methods of inelastic neutron scattering and neutron diffraction analysis are used to study the dynamics and structure of the crystal lattice. The relation of the properties of dynamics and the crystal-lattice structure to the ion transport are analyzed.     

X-ray tube with axial focusing

A dc X-ray tube based on an immersion lens has been designed. The tube consists of electrodes with axial symmetry, a directly heated cathode, and a cylindrical anode; it has a front radiation output and small sizes. 50 and 100 W X-ray tubes and a 1.2 kW demountable tube with a dual Al-Mg anode were designed, running tests were performed, are the main electrical and X-ray optical characteristics were analyzed. The technique developed makes it possible to fabricate anode targets from different materials and to use aluminum, beryllium, or steel output windows. The tube proposed has a wide range of application.
