The effect of simultaneous substitution of a fluctuating cation and a divalent cation in LaMnO3 perovskite modifies the properties of the material to exhibit large valence colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) effect. A good example of these properties is (La1−2x Pr x Ca x )MnO3 (LPCMO) type CMR material. In this communication it is reported that, with the increase in x (for x=0.1, 0.15, 0.2), the T c varies between 100 and 120 K with improvisation in metal-insulator transition. Interestingly, resistance increases with x from few hundred ohms to few kilo ohms with corresponding decrease in the unit cell volume. The results of the studies using X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance and ac susceptibility measurements on LPCMO samples for understanding the structural, transport and magnetic properties are discussed in detail.  相似文献

We report the results of studies on the rectifying behavior and tunneling conduction in ZnO(n)/La0.5Pr0.2Sr0.3MnO3(LPSMO)(p)/SrNb0.002Ti0.998O3 (SNTO)(n) thin film heterostructure comprising of two p–n junctions fabricated using the Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) technique. A structural study using XRD ?-scan depicts the single-crystalline nature and confirms the phase purity while the transport studies using IV measurements at various temperatures and fields reveal the rectifying behavior. The temperature and field dependent variation in the saturation voltage (VC) indicates that, the heterostructure exhibits negative magnetoresistance (MR) at low temperatures and positive MR at room temperature (RT) which can be understood on the basis of the interface effect at the junction. IV curves obtained at all temperatures and fields show noticeable hysteresis during the positive voltage sweeping which has been attributed to the presence of the various conduction phenomena through the junctions in the presently studied heterostructure.  相似文献

The structural and superconducting properties of single-phase Fe-substituted La2.5Nd0.5CaBa3(Cu1−xFex)7Oz (LNCBCuFe) with 0.0x0.06 compounds having triple-perovskite structure are investigated using X-ray diffraction, a.c. susceptibility, d.c. magnetization, oxygen content and Mössbauer effect measurements. Mössbauer spectral analysis of x=0.03 sample displays unusual Fe-dopant site occupancies and the Cu(2) plane to Cu(1) chain site ratio in the LNCBCuFe are quite different from those of the usual Fe-doped YBa2Cu3O7−δ. Specifically, we observe substantial occupation of a new chain-associated quasi-octahedral site, E, at 300 K which transforms into the well-known distorted tetrahedron chain site, A, on lowering the temperature to 78 K. The observed reduction of Tc with increasing x in LNCBCuFe supports the view that the hole filling mechanism contributes predominantly to the suppression of superconductivity by Fe.  相似文献

Magnetoresistance (MR) and magnetization (dc and ac) measurements have been carried out on the manganites, (La0.7−2xEux)(Ca0.3Srx)MnO3 (0.05≤x≤0.15), in the temperature range of 5-320 K. At 5 K, an unusually large MR of almost 98% is observed in the x=0.15 sample, nearly up to fields of 4-5 T. This large high-field MR occurs in the metallic region, far below the insulator-metal transition temperature, and does not vary linearly with applied field. The unusual magnetoresistance is explained in the light of various possibilities such as phase segregation, cluster spin-glass behavior, etc.  相似文献

4‐Methyl acetanilide ( 1 ) on treatment with bromine in acetic acid, followed by hydrolysis with dilute HCl/NaOH solution, yielded 2‐bromo‐4‐methyl aniline ( 2 ), which on treatment with sodium thiocyanate in acetic acid afforded 2‐amino‐4‐bromo‐6‐methyl benzothiazole ( 3 ). Compound 3 in ethylene glycol was heated at 150°C with 80% hydrazine hydrate to get 4‐bromo‐2‐hydrazino‐6‐methyl benzothiazole ( 4 ). This hydrazino compound 4 on heating with formic acid for 3 h yielded 4‐bromo‐2‐hydrazinoformyl‐6‐methyl benzothiazole ( 5 ). Same compound 4 when heated independently with formic acid for 6 h/urea for 3 h/carbon disulfide in alkali afforded 5‐bromo‐7‐methyl ( 6 )/5‐bromo‐3‐hydroxy‐7‐methyl ( 7 )/5‐bromo‐3‐mercapto‐7‐methyl ( 8 )‐1,2,4‐triazolo‐[3,4‐b]‐benzothiazoles, respectively. Compound 4 on heating with acetic acid/acetic anhydride gave acetyl benzothiazolyl derivative 9 , which on cyclization with orthophosphoric acid yielded 5‐bromo‐3,7‐dimethyl‐1,2,4‐triazolo‐[3,4‐b]‐benzothiazole ( 10 ). All these newly synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli (Gram ?ve), Bacillus subtilis (Gram +ve), Erwinia carotovora, and Xanthomonas citri using ampicillin, streptomycin, and penicillin as a standard for comparison.  相似文献

Reaction of 4H‐pyrimido[2,1‐b]benzothiazole‐2‐thiomethyl‐3‐cyano‐4‐one (1) with hydrazine hydrate/aryl hydrazine/heteryl hydrazine in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate and dimethyl formamide afforded 3‐amino‐4‐oxo‐(2H)/aryl/heteryl pyrazolo[3′,4′:4,5]pyrimido[2,1‐b]benzothiazoles in good yield. These pyrazole derivatives on diazotization followed by replacement with hydroxy, chloro, bromo, iodo and on reduction gave the corresponding 3‐substituted derivatives.  相似文献

We report magnetotransport properties of La0.5Pr0.2Sr0.3MnO3 (LPSMO) {5 layers}/La0.5Pr0.2Ba0.3MnO3 (LPBMO) {4 layers} manganite multilayers grown on single crystalline STO (h 0 0) and NGO (h 0 0) substrates using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. An appreciable magnetoresistance (MR) ∼56% (80 kOe field) at room temperature (RT) is exhibited by the heterostructure deposited on STO substrate having field coefficient of resistance (FCR) ∼35% (100 Oe) while the multilayer deposited on NGO substrate exhibits MR∼61% (80 kOe field) and FCR∼18% (5 kOe) at RT. The observed values of temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) are ∼3.15% and 2.77% at RT for the multilayers grown on STO and NGO substrates, respectively. A comparison of the field sensitivity of the multilayered structure studied with those reported for LPSMO/Al2O3/LPSMO (FCR∼20% at 220 K) and LPSMO/STO film (FCR∼13% at 250 K) shows that the multilayer exhibits higher field sensitivity, which can be attributed to the improved LPSMO-LPBMO interfaces. In this communication, the results of the structural, transport and magnetotransport studies on LPSMO/LPBMO multilayered systems have been discussed.  相似文献

Structural studies on Dy-substituted La-2125 type superconductors have been carried out by neutron diffraction experiments at room temperature using a monochromatic neutron beam of wavelength (λ) = 1.249 Å. A series of samples with La2-xDyxCa2xBa2Cu4+2xOz stoichiometric composition, forx = 0.1–0.5, have been studied for their structural properties. A tetragonal Y-123 unit cell was taken as the starting model for the Rietveld analysis. All the samples fit into the starting model, with no structural transition taking place with increasing dopant concentration. The results of Rietveld analysis and structural properties will be discussed in detail.
