We report a C?C bond‐forming reaction between benzyl alcohols and alkynes in the presence of a catalytic amount of KOtBu to form α‐alkylated ketones in which the C=O group is located on the side derived from the alcohol. The reaction proceeds under thermal conditions (125 °C) and produces no waste, making the reaction highly atom efficient, environmentally benign, and sustainable. Based on our mechanistic investigations, we propose that the reaction proceeds through radical pathways.  相似文献

An olfactory biosensor based on a reduced graphene oxide (rGO) field‐effect transistor (FET), functionalized by the odorant‐binding protein 14 (OBP14) from the honey bee (Apis mellifera) has been designed for the in situ and real‐time monitoring of a broad spectrum of odorants in aqueous solutions known to be attractants for bees. The electrical measurements of the binding of all tested odorants are shown to follow the Langmuir model for ligand–receptor interactions. The results demonstrate that OBP14 is able to bind odorants even after immobilization on rGO and can discriminate between ligands binding within a range of dissociation constants from Kd=4 μM to Kd=3.3 mM . The strongest ligands, such as homovanillic acid, eugenol, and methyl vanillate all contain a hydroxy group which is apparently important for the strong interaction with the protein.  相似文献

Hexagonal Ca5(PO4)3F, known as natural crystal fluorapatite and oldest host‐crystal for Ln3+‐lasant ions, is presented as a Raman‐active material. High‐order Raman‐induced χ(3)‐nonlinear processes are discovered in natural crystals of fluorapatite under picosecond pumping at 1.064 μm and 0.532 μm wavelength. A multitude of Stokes and anti‐Stokes components is generated in the ultraviolet, visible and near‐infrared spectral region by stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) and Raman four‐wave mixing (FWHM), resulting in a frequency comb with a width of 520 THz. The spectral lines are identified and attributed to the ν1(Ag) vibration mode of the tetrahedral [PO4] units which is related to a Raman shift of ωSRS ≈ 965 cm−1. The first Stokes steady‐state Raman gain coefficient in the near‐infrared spectral range is estimated to be >0.38 cm·GW−1. Finally, a short review of SRS‐promoting vibration modes and observed χ(3)‐ nonlinear interactions in all known SRS‐active natural crystals (minerals) is given.

Summary Birefringence and orientation angle of solutions of Polyox WSR 301 in the concentration range of 50 to 1350 ppm have been measured up to 8000 s–1. A few marked differences with ordinary flexible polymers have been evidenced: (i) a very low value of the extinction angle at high shear rate, which could be attributed to an unusually high molecular weight; (ii) the independence of this angle on the concentration, which is due to the variation of the flexibility with the concentration, as shown by the study of the concentration dependence of the segmental optical anisotropy; (iii) the concentration dependence of the elongation shows a plateau value forc 150 ppm, which may come from a concentration dependent and reversible association process, as shown from reduced viscosity measurements.
Zusammenfassung Es wurden die Doppelbrechung und der Orientierungswinkel von Polyox-WSR 301-Lösungen im Konzentrationsbereich 50–1350 ppm bis zu Schergeschwindigkeiten von 8000 s–1 gemessen. Dabei wurden einige ausgeprägte Unterschiede gegenüber normalen flexiblen Polymeren gefunden: (i) ein sehr niedriger Wert des Auslöschwinkels, was auf ein ungewöhnlich hohes Molekulargewicht schließen läßt: (ii) die Unabhängigkeit dieses Winkels von der Konzentration, was von einer Änderung der Flexibilität mit der Konzentration herrührt, wie sie durch die Untersuchung der Konzentrationsabhängigkeit der optischen Anisotropie der Segmente aufgezeigt wird; (iii) die Existenz eines Plateaus in der Konzentrationsabhängigkeit der Streckung beic 150 ppm, welches auf einen konzentrationsabhängigen reversiblen Assoziationsvorgang hindeutet, der auch durch Messung der reduzierten Viskosität nahegelegt wird.

Summary A general arrangement of a capillary viscometer is examined with a non-steady flow of aNewtonian liquid. The flow is determined by a pressure dependent upon the time. The velocity is found as a function of the pressure gradient or the length coordinate and the time. The result can serve for the determination of the viscosity.Three illustrative examples are given.
Zusammenfassung Der allgemeine Aufbau eines Kapillar-Viskosimeters wird an Hand des nichtstationären Fließens einer Newtonschen Flüssigkeit überprüft. Das Fließen wird durch einen zeitabhängigen Druck bestimmt. Die Geschwindigkeit ergibt sich danach als Funktion des Druckgradienten oder der Längen-Koordinate und der Zeit. Das Ergebnis kann zur Bestimmung der Viskosität dienen. Drei Beispiele dienen der Erläuterung.

In a Type‐II superconductor the magnetic field penetrates the superconducting body through the formation of vortices. In an extreme Type‐II superconductor these vortices reduce to line singularities. Because the number of vortices is large it seems feasible to model their evolution by an averaged problem, known as the mean-field model of superconductivity. We assume that the evolution law of an individual vortex, which underlies the averaging process, involves the current of the generated magnetic field as well as the curvature vector. In the present paper we study a two‐dimensional reduction, assuming all vortices to be perpendicular to a given direction. Since both the magnetic field H and the averaged vorticity ω are curl‐free, we may represent them via a scalar magnetic potential q and a scalar stream function ψ, respectively. We study existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behaviour of solutions (ψ, q) of the resulting degenerate elliptic‐parabolic system (with curvature taken into account or not) by means of viscosity and weak solutions. In addition we relate (ψ, q) to solutions (ω, H) of the mean‐field equations without curvature. Finally we construct special solutions of the corresponding stationary equations with two or more superconducting phases. (Accepted August 8, 1997)  相似文献

As part of an EEC Science Stimulation programme on extensional viscosity two major conferences were organised on the subject. The second of these was devoted to the results obtained on a standard fluid, M 1. The data obtained in shear flow was remarkably consistent from laboratory to laboratory. Extensional flow results presented quite a different picture. Using a series of nonequilibrium techniques such as the spinline rheometer, opposing jet, falling drop and converging flow, extensional viscosity results were obtained which differed by as much as two to three orders of magnitude. Nevertheless, it was apparent that consistancy did exist between similar techniques. It is in the context of this information that the measurements described below have been made.The shear and extensional flow properties of partially ionised polyacrylamide in solution at concentrations ranging from 5 ppm were measured. The method of solution preparation was found to have a profound effect on the behaviour of the solutions in shear flow. The influence of salt concentration and pH was investigated and is discussed in the context of molecular shape in solution.Extensional flow measurements, using the spinline rheometer, show that the solutions are strongly strain thickening even at concentrations as low as 5 ppm.
