H2 may be evolved biphasically using a polarised liquid|liquid interface, acting as a “proton pump”, in combination with organic soluble metallocenes as electron donors. Sustainable H2 production requires methodologies to recycle the oxidised donor. Herein, the photo-recycling of decamethylferrocenium cations (DcMFc+) using aqueous core-shell semiconductor CdSe@CdS nanoparticles is presented. Negative polarisation of the liquid|liquid interface is required to extract DcMFc+ to the aqueous phase. This facilitates the efficient capture of electrons by DcMFc+ on the surface of the photo-excited CdSe@CdS nanoparticles, with hydrophobic DcMFc subsequently partitioning back to the organic phase and resetting the system. TiO2 (P25) and CdSe semiconductor nanoparticles failed to recycle DcMFc+ due to their lower conduction band energy levels. The over-relaxation approach is an alternative to the Jin–Xin relaxation method in order to apply the equilibrium source term in a more precise way. This is also a key ingredient of the lattice Boltzmann method for achieving second-order accuracy. In this work, we provide an analysis of the over-relaxation kinetic scheme. Thermal decarbonylation of the acyl compounds [Mn(CO)5(CORF)] (RF=CF3, CHF2, CH2CF3, CF2CH3) yielded the corresponding alkyl derivatives [Mn(CO)5(RF)], some of which have not been previously reported. The compounds were fully characterized by analytical and spectroscopic methods and by several single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The solution-phase IR characterization in the CO stretching region, with the assistance of DFT calculations, has allowed the assignment of several weak bands to vibrations of the [Mn(12CO)4(eq-13CO)(RF)] and [Mn(12CO)4(ax-13CO)(RF)] isotopomers and a ranking of the RF donor power in the order CF3<CHF2<CH2CF3≈CF2CH3. The homolytic Mn−RF bond cleavage in [Mn(CO)5(RF)] at various temperatures under saturation conditions with trapping of the generated RF radicals by excess tris(trimethylsilyl)silane yielded activation parameters ΔH≠ and ΔS≠ that are believed to represent close estimates of the homolytic bond dissociation thermodynamic parameters. These values are in close agreement with those calculated in a recent DFT study (J. Organomet. Chem. 2018 , 864, 12–18). The ability of these complexes to undergo homolytic Mn−RF bond cleavage was further demonstrated by the observation that [Mn(CO)5(CF3)] (the compound with the strongest Mn−RF bond) initiated the radical polymerization of vinylidene fluoride (CH2=CF2) to produce poly(vinylidene fluoride) in good yields by either thermal (100 °C) or photochemical (UV or visible light) activation. 相似文献

3-Carene is an important potential biofuel with properties similar to the jet-propellant JP-10. Its thermal decomposition and combustion behavior is to date unknown, which is essential to assess its quality as a fuel. A combined experimental and kinetic modeling study has been conducted to understand the initial decomposition of 3-carene. The pyrolysis of 3-carene was investigated in a jet-stirred quartz reactor at atmospheric pressure, at temperatures varying from 650 to 1050 K, covering the complete conversion range. The decomposition of 3-carene was observed to start around 800 K, and it is almost complete at 970 K. Online gas chromatography shows that primarily aromatics are generated which suggests that 3-carene is not a good fuel candidate. The potential energy surface for the initial decomposition pathways determined by KinBot shows that a hydrogen elimination reaction dominates, giving primarily cara-2,4-diene. Next to this molecular pathway, radical pathways lead to aromatics via ring opening. The kinetic model was automatically generated with Genesys and consists of 2565 species and 9331 reactions. New quantum chemical calculations at the CBS-QB3 level of theory were needed to calculate rate coefficients and thermodynamic properties relevant for the primary decomposition of 3-carene. Both the conversion of 3-carene and the yields of the primary products (ie, benzene and hydrogen gas) are well predicted with this kinetic model. New redox-active 1,2,5,6-tetrakis(guanidino)-naphthalene compounds, isolable and storable in the neutral and deep-green dicationic redox states and oxidisable further in two one-electron steps to the tetracations, are reported. Protonation switches on blue fluorescence, with the fluorescence intensity (quantum yield) increasing with the degree of protonation. Reactions with N-halogenosuccinimides or N-halogenophthalimides led to a series of new redox-active halogeno- and succinimido-/phthalimido-substituted derivatives. These highly selective reactions are proposed to proceed via the tri- or tetracationic state as the intermediate. The derivatives are oxidised reversibly at slightly higher potentials than that of the unsubstituted compounds to dications and further to tri- and tetracations. The integration of redox-active ligands in the transition-metal complexes shifts the redox potentials to higher values and also allows reversible oxidation in two potentially separated one-electron steps. 相似文献

Explicit and partly sharp estimates are given of integrals over the square of Bessel functions with an integrable weight which can be singular at the origin. They are uniform with respect to the order of the Bessel functions and provide explicit bounds for some smoothing estimates as well as for the L2 restrictions of Fourier transforms onto spheres in which are independent of the radius of the sphere. For more special weights these restrictions are shown to be Hölder continuous with a Hölder constant having this independence as well.
