Synthesis of submicron CaZrO<Subscript>3</Subscript> in combustion reactions

Submicron CaZrO₃ powder is obtained in combustion reactions (solution combustion synthesis—SCS) with glycine. It is found that SCS reduces the sintering temperature of CaZrO₃ powders. The dielectric properties of calcium zirconate ceramics are studied by the electrochemical impedance method. It is shown that a ceramics of powders obtained by the SCS method has high dielectric characteristics.

Calculations of phase equilibria for mixtures of triglycerides,fatty acids,and their esters in lower alcohols

The objects of study were mixtures containing triglycerides and lower alcohols and also the products of the transesterification of triglycerides, glycerol and fatty acid esters. The Redlich-Kwong-Soave equation of state was used as a thermodynamic model for the phase state of the selected mixtures over wide temperature, pressure, and composition ranges. Group methods were applied to determine the critical parameters of pure substances and their acentric factors. The parameters obtained were used to calculate the phase diagrams and critical parameters of mixtures containing triglycerides and lower alcohols and the products of the transesterification of triglycerides, glycerol and fatty acid esters, at various alcohol/oil ratios. The conditions of triglyceride transesterification in various lower alcohols providing the supercritical state of reaction mixtures were selected.     

Electrosurface characteristics of bulk titanium dioxide in solutions of simple electrolytes. III. Effect of multiply charged cations on adsorption and electrokinetic parameters of TiO<Subscript>2</Subscript>

The electrosurface characteristics of titanium oxide nanoparticles synthesized by the sol-gel method are studied in relation to the pH and concentration of solutions of sodium, potassium, barium, and lanthanum chlorides. The surface charges and electrokinetic potentials are found, and the positions of the points of zero charge are analyzed as depending on the type and concentration of cations. The absence of a negative region of the electrokinetic potential, which results from the superequivalent adsorption in the Stern layer, is revealed for BaCl₂ and LaCl₃ solutions.     

Analysis of the single-particle energies of 1<Emphasis Type="Italic">f</Emphasis> and 2<Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis> proton states in <Superscript>64,66,68</Superscript>Zn nuclei by the mean field model with dispersive optical potential

Single-particle proton energies near the Fermi energy in ^64,66,68Zn are analyzed using the mean field model with dispersive optical potential. Good agreement is obtained between the calculated energies and experimental data. The set of parameters of the dispersive optical potential is compared with the set found for neighboring ^58,60,62,64Ni with the magic number Z = 28.
