Esaxerenone is a new nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist utilized to treat high blood pressure. Chemically, esaxerenone is a pyrrole derivative consisting of hindered rotation, which results in stereoisomers named atropisomers. Currently, no methods exist for the separation and quantification of these atropisomers. A new and accurate chiral liquid chromatographic technique was developed and validated to estimate the enantiomeric purity of esaxerenone. Polar organic chiral separation was carried out on an immobilized amylose-based chiral stationary phase (Chiralpak IG) with methanol:acetonitrile:diethylamine (9:1:0.1, v/v/v) mixture as a mobile phase. The total runtime was 15 min, and the resolution (Rs) between the atropisomers was more than 3.0. The detection and quantification thresholds for the R-atropisomer were found to be 0.03 and 0.1 µg mL?1, respectively, for a test concentration of esaxerenone (1000 µg mL?1). Over the range from the limit of quantification to 0.3 percent, the method's linearity for the R-atropisomer was excellent (R2?>?0.999). The R-atropisomer recovery varied from 95 to 102%, confirming the method’s good accuracy. For a 48-h research period, the chemical was shown to be stable.

One of the criteria for evaluating the performance of a heat exchanger with extended surfaces is the pumping power required for a specified heat duty. The results of an experimental project to relate the pumping power to heat transfer augmentation in a double-pipe heat exchanger are reported. The inner, electrically heated pipe was provided with external, rectangular, axial extended surfaces with interruptions. Heat transfer augmentation and friction factors were determined for different configurations with air as the fluid. Starting with continuous fins, cuts were introduced in the fins to give four ratios of the finssegment length to the gap between the segments, and finally all the fins were removed, which resulted in smooth pipes. Five different mass flow rates in two different inner pipes were employed. Lengths, surface areas, and pumping powers for finned pipes are compared with those for smooth pipes. The average heat transfer coefficient increases with an increase in the frequency of the interruptions. For equal heat transfer rates a significant reduction in the lengths can be achieved by interrupted fins. In many cases the reduction in the length is also accompanied by a reduction in the pumping power.  相似文献

A technique for measuring condensate film thickness using an ultrasonic transducer is described. In the experiment, the condensate film thickness with R-113 and FC-72 (a fluorinert compound developed by the 3M Company) condensing on the horizontal lower surface of a rectangular duct was measured at several locations. From the measured values a power law relation between the condensate film thickness and the axial distance from the leading edge of the condensing surface was derived by regression analysis. Assuming a linear temperature profile in the condensate film, local and average heat transfer coefficients were computed from the condensate film thickness. The average heat transfer coefficients were compared with the values obtained by measuring the heat transfer rate to the coolant. The two values were within ±12% of each other. As yet there is no satisfactory analytical model to predict the local heat transfer coefficient even in the annular condensation regime. One of the main difficulties in modeling the condensation is the lack of a suitable model to predict the interfacial shear stress. With the measurement of the film thickness it is possible to determine the interfacial shear stress. It is hoped that the shear stresses so determined will lead to the development of a satisfactory model for interfacial shear stress with condensation.  相似文献

The drag of a sphere at highRe can be reduced to more than half its value by passive ventilation from the stagnation region to the base. Simultaneously, the flow field around the base is stabilized and made symmetric, leading to reduction of unsteady aerodynamic forces. At highRe, the vent flow breaks through the dead water region associated with the near wake and aerodynamically streamlines the base. The streamlining is done by virtue of a base-vortex-ring beyond the point of turbulent boundary layer separation. A mean flow model for the flow around the vented sphere is proposed.Smoke flow visualized on a laser light screen placed at two diameters behind the base of the sphere shows the effectiveness of the method in suppressing the flow oscillations.The drag reduction achieved is very sensitive to the quality of the external surface and relatively insensitive to disturbances in the internal flow. Surface roughness or boundary layer tripping wire on the external flow can completely offset the benefit obtained.  相似文献

Polymerization of acrylonitrile initiated by the Cr6+/thioacetamide redox system was studied in nitrogen atmosphere in the temperature range 35–45°C. The rate of polymerization and the rate of Cr6+ ion disappearance were measured. The effect of certain water-miscible organic solvents, neutral electrolytes, and complexing agents on the rate of polymerization was investigated. Chromic acid alone did not initiate the polymerization under deaerated and undeaerated conditions. Depending on the results obtained, a suitable kinetic scheme was proposed and various rate parameters were evaluated.  相似文献
