High-field and -frequency electron paramagnetic resonance (HFEPR) spectroscopy has been used to study three complexes of high spin Manganese(III), 3d4, S = 2. The complexes studied were tetraphenylporphyrinatomanganese(III) chloride (MnTPPCI), phthalocyanatomanganese(III) chloride (MnPcCl), and (8,12-diethyl-2,3,7,13,17,18-hexamethylcorrolato)manganese(III) (MnCor). We demonstrate the ability to obtain both field-oriented (single-crystal like) spectra and true powder pattern HFEPR spectra of solid samples. The latter are obtained by immobilizing the powder, either in an n-eicosane mull or KBr pellet. We can also obtain frozen solution HFEPR spectra with good signal-to-noise, and yielding the expected true powder pattern. Frozen solution spectra are described for MnTPPCl in 2:3 (v/v) toluene/CH2Cl2 solution and for MnCor in neat pyridine (py) solution. All of the HFEPR spectra have been fully analyzed using spectral simulation software and a complete set of spin Hamiltonian parameters has been determined for each complex in each medium. Both porphyrinic complexes (MnTPPCl and MnPcCl) are rigorously axial systems, with similar axial zero-field splitting (zfs): D approximately -2.3 cm(-1), and g values quite close to 2.00. In contrast, the corrole complex, MnCor, exhibits slightly larger magnitude, rhombic zfs: D approximtely -2.6 cm(-1), absolute value(E) approximately 0.015 cm(-1), also with g values quite close to 2.00. These results are discussed in terms of the molecular structures of these complexes and their electronic structure. We propose that there is a significant mixing of the triplet (S = 1) excited state with the quintet (S= 2) ground state in Mn(III) complexes with porphyrinic ligands, which is even more pronounced for corroles.  相似文献

In polymerization reactions of phenylacetylene three different types of polyphenylacetylene (PPA) were prepared by using Rh and Pt complexes as catalysts in different reaction conditions. Type I PPA is obtained with [Rh (COD) Chel] PF6 complexes (COD = cis,cis-cycloocta 1,5-diene; chel = 2,2′-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline, 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) in bulk, benzene methanol, while type II PPA is obtained with the same catalysts in p-dioxane and type III PPA in the presence of [Pt (? C?CPh)2(PPh3)2] in bulk. Type I, II, and III PPA exhibit different IR and 1H-NMR spectra, which have been compared with literature data. Correlations proposed by different Authors between spectral properties of PPA and chain structures are also discussed.  相似文献

Diphenylsilanediol (DPDO) reacts with triethoxysilane (TREOS) in anhydrous conditions and in the presence of pyridine, to form complex mixtures of linear and cyclic condensation products which were identified by 29Si NMR and ATR/FTIR spectroscopies. The distribution of products can be varied by modifying the reaction conditions. Spectroscopic analysis allowed to identify the optimal reagents ratio and concentration for the production of hetero-condensation products minimizing the number of residual –OH groups whose presence would affect the performance of optical waveguides based on the synthesised nano building blocks.  相似文献

An undecasubstituted chloroiron corrolate, octamethyltriphenylcorrolatoiron chloride, (OMTPCorr)FeCl, has been synthesized and studied by X-ray crystallography and (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopy. It is found that, although the structure is slightly saddled, the average methyl out-of-plane distance is only 0.63 Angstroms, while it is much greater for the dodecasubstituted porphyrinate analogue (OMTPP)FeCl (1.19 Angstroms) (Cheng, R.-J.; Chen, P.-Y.; Gau, P.-R.; Chen, C.-C.; Peng, S.-M. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1997, 119, 2563-2569). In addition, the distance of iron from the mean plane of the four macrocycle nitrogens is also smaller for (OMTPCorr)FeCl (0.387 Angstroms) than for (OMTPP)FeCl (0.46 Angstroms). The (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra of (OMTPCorr)FeCl, as well as the chloroiron complexes of triphenylcorrolate, (TPCorr)FeCl; 7,13-dimethyl-2,3,8,12,17,18-hexaethylcorrolate, (DMHECorr)FeCl; 7,8,12,13-tetramethyl-2,3,17,18-tetraethylcorrolate, (TMTECorr)FeCl; and the phenyliron complex of 7,13-dimethyl-2,3,8,12,17,18-hexaethylcorrolate, (DMHECorr)FePh, have been assigned, and the spin densities at the carbons that are part of the aromatic ring of the corrole macrocycle have been divided into the part due to spin delocalization by corrole --> Fe pi donation and the part due to the unpaired electron present on the corrole ring. It is found that although the spin density at the beta-pyrrole positions is fairly similar to that of (TPCorr)FeCl, the meso-phenyl-carbon shift differences delta(m) - delta(p) are opposite in sign of those of (TPCorr)FeCl. This finding suggests that the radical electron is ferromagnetically coupled to the unpaired electrons on iron, rather than antiferromagnetically coupled, as in all of the other chloroiron corrolates. The solution magnetic moment was measured for (OMTPCorr)FeCl and found to be mu(eff) = 4.7 +/- 0.5 micro(B), consistent with S = 2 and ferromagnetic coupling. From this study, two conclusions may be reached about iron corrolates: (1) the spin states of chloroiron corrolates are extremely sensitive to the out-of-plane distance of iron, and (2) pyrrole-H or -C shifts are not useful in delineating the spin state and electron configuration of (anion)iron corrolates.  相似文献

The thermal and structural stability of sulfonated cross-linked PEEK (polyether ether ketone) and its silicon-containing class II hybrid derivatives were characterized by combination of mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. Thermodynamic properties of the hybrids were determined, including glass-transition temperature, degree of crystallinity, and thermal stability. The decomposition processes of the hybrid polymers could be consistently interpreted and their energetics quantitatively determined. The introduction of inorganic silanol moieties improves the thermal stability compared to sulfonated products.  相似文献

Pure, 5 at%, and 10 at% Ta- or Nb-doped TiO2 nanosized powders were prepared by the sol-gel method. The powders heated to 400°C have the crystalline anatase structure. While the pure TiO2 powder heated to 850°C has the rutile structure, the addition of Ta and Nb inhibited the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation at this temperature. Ta was soluble in the titania lattice up to the concentration of 10 at%, while the solubility of Nb was 5 at%. Thick films were fabricated with these powders by screen printing technology and then fired at 650°C and 850°C for 1 h. SEM observations showed that the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation induces a grain growth of about one order of magnitude for pure TiO2. The addition of Ta and Nb is effective to keep the TiO2 grain size at the nanometric level even at 850°C. Conductance measurements showed that a good gas response is observed only for the nanostructured titania-based films. The CO response of these materials is only slightly affected by humidity.  相似文献

The preparation of nanostructured organic-inorganic materials by assembling of nanobuilding blocks allows controlling the extent of phase interaction, which in its turn governs structure-properties relationships. We present here the synthesis of siloxane-based nanobuilding blocks prepared by reacting diphenylsilanediol with vinyltriethoxysilane and triethoxysilane. The reaction products were obtained by non-hydrolytic condensation between silanediol and ethoxide groups in inert atmosphere, in the presence of pyridine, triethylamine or butyl lithium. Different synthetic conditions were examined by means of ATR-FTIR and NMR spectroscopies, showing the formation of siloxane bonds. In the case of triethoxysilane the reaction carried out in the presence of pyridine leads to Si–H bond preservation in the final product. Air stable products with improved Si–O–Si hydrolytic stability can be obtained by removal of the base after the reaction completion. The condensation products can be described as a mixture of siloxane rings involving difunctional and trifunctional silicon units.  相似文献

A derivative of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) having sulfonic acid groups and silicon‐containing substituents covalently bound to the aromatic backbone has been prepared as proton‐exchange membrane material. The polymer 4 (PhSiSPEEK) has been synthesized via (i) sulfonation of PEEK up to 0.9 degree of sulfonation (DS, the number of sulfonic groups per repeat unit), (ii) conversion of sulfonated PEEK 1 (SPEEK09) into sulfonyl chlorinated derivative 2 (PEEKSO2Cl), (iii) lithiation of 2 and subsequent addition of PhSiCl3, followed by hydrolysis. The chemical structure of the synthesized polymers has been investigated by 1H NMR and 13C NMR and ATR/FTIR spectroscopy and their thermal stability has been evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis. The presence of inorganic moieties increases the thermal stability of 4 with respect to the sulfonated and not silylated product. Despite its very high DS, PhSiSPEEK is insoluble in water but does not possess the plastic properties needed to be used as an electrolyte membrane. Blend membranes made of SPEEK05 (DS = 0.5) and containing 10 and 25 wt % of 4 (DS = 0.9, degree of silylation DSi = 0.1) have been prepared and characterized by water uptake measurements and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The combination of the two functionalized polymers having different properties allows to obtain proton‐conducting electrolytes that are potential candidates for fuel cells applications. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In an attempt to determine the electron configuration of (anion)iron corrolates, i.e., whether they are S = 1 Fe(IV)-corrolate(3-) or S = 3/2 Fe(III)-corrolate(2-*), with antiferromagnetic coupling between the iron and macrocycle electrons to yield overall S = 1, two axial ligand complexes of an iron octaalkylcorrolate have been studied by temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility, magnetic M?ssbauer, and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and the results have been compared to those determined on the basis of spin-unrestricted DFT calculations. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate the presence of a noninnocent macrocycle (corrolate (2-*)) for the chloroiron corrolate, with strong antiferromagnetic coupling to the S = 3/2 Fe(III) center, while those for the phenyliron corrolate are not conclusive as to the electron configuration. Temperature- and field-dependent M?ssbauer spectroscopic investigations of these two complexes yielded spectra that could be simulated with either electron configuration, except that the isomer shift of the phenyl-iron complex is -0.10 mm/s while that of the chloroiron complex is +0.21 mm/s, suggesting that the iron in the former is Fe(IV) while in the latter it is Fe(III). 1H NMR spectroscopic studies of both axial ligand complexes show large negative spin density at the meso carbons, with those of the chloroiron complex (Cai, S.; Walker, F. A.; Licoccia, S. Inorg. Chem. 2000, 39, 3466) being roughly four times larger than those of the phenyliron complex. The temperature dependence of the proton chemical shifts of the phenyliron complex is strictly linear. DFT calculations are consistent with the chloroiron complex being formulated as S1 = 3/2 Fe(III)-corrolate (2-*) S2 = 1/2, with negative spin density at all nitrogens and meso carbons, and a net spin density of -0.79 on the corrolate ring and positive spin density (+0.17) on the chloride ion and +2.58 on the iron. In contrast, the phenyliron complex is best formulated as S = 1 Fe(IV)-corrolate (3-), but again with negative spin density at all nitrogens and meso carbons of the macrocycle, yet with the net spin density on the corrolate ring being virtually zero; the phenyl carbanion carbon has relatively large negative spin density of -0.15 and the iron +2.05. On the basis of all of the results, we conclude that in both the chloroiron and phenyliron complexes the corrolate ring is noninnocent, in the chloroiron complex to a much larger extent than in the phenyliron complex.  相似文献
