This study demonstrates the superiority of a stable and well-defined heterogeneous cobalt hexacyanocobaltate (Co3[Co(CN)6]2), a typical cobalt Prussian Blue Analogue (CoCo-PBA) that catalyzes the copolymerization of carbonyl sulfide (COS) and propylene oxide (PO) to produce poly(propylene monothiocarbonate)s (PPMTC). The number-average molecular weights of the PPMTC were 66.4 to 139.4 kg/mol, with a polydispersity of 2.0–3.9. The catalyst productivity reached 1040 g polymer/g catalyst (12.0 h). The oxygen-sulfur exchange reaction (O/S ER), which would generate random thiocarbonate and carbonate units, was effectively suppressed, and thus the selectivity of the monothiocarbonate over carbonate linkages was up to >99%. It was shown that no cyclic thiocarbonate byproduct was produced during the heterogeneous catalysis of COS/PO copolymerization using CoCo-PBA as the catalyst. The content of monothiocarbonate and ether units in the copolymer chain could be regulated by tuning the feeding amount of COS.  相似文献

As part of a fundamental study of the behaviour of mixed plastics during reprocessing and in service, blends of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) have been investigated. It was found that Young's modulus increased steadily from pure LDPE to pure PVC whereas both tensile strength at break and elongation at break passed through a minimum at about 5% PVC. Optical and scanning electron microscope studies have related this mechanical behaviour to morphological changes in the two phase system under stress.  相似文献

The objective of the work is to test a nickel–chrome alloy as a probe tip material for characterization of discharge plasmas. In order to meet the objective, a symmetric triple Langmuir probe diagnostic system and an associated driving circuit are designed and tested in an inductively coupled plasma generated by a 13.56-MHz radio frequency source coupled with an automated impedance match network. This probe is used to measure the electron temperature, electron number density, and ion saturation current as functions of the input power of the radio frequency source and the filling gas pressure. An increasing trend is noticed in the electron temperature and electron number density with an increase in the input power, whilst a decreasing trend is evident in these parameters with an increase in the nitrogen gas pressure. The overall inaccuracies in electron temperature and electron number density measurements are 5–12% and 3–13%, respectively.  相似文献

Itaconamide derivatives have been prepared and investigated as photo-stabilizers for rigid PVC. We investigated their stabilizing efficiencies by testing the weight loss (%) with the amount of formed gel. The results indicated a reasonable stabilizing efficiency of these derivatives compared with commercial UV absorber; phenyl salicylate. The extent of discoloration of the photodegraded polymer was also improved in the presence of the prepared compounds. Rheological properties were studied to investigate the flow behavior with providing a vision into the mechanical behavior for the tested materials. Employing the evaluated photostabilizers reflects the reduction in the extent of cross-linking of the polymer. This implies preserving the mechanical properties of PVC. A radical mechanism is proposed to account for the stabilizing action of the investigated materials. The prepared itaconamide derivatives provide appropriate photostability and mechanical properties for a durable poly(vinyl chloride).  相似文献

In this paper, the focussing of the transmitted electromagnetic field through a quadric inhomogeneous slab of lossless uniaxial chiral medium is derived using transmission coefficient under oblique incidence. The inhomogeneity in the uniaxial chiral slab has been incorporated through permittivity parameter. Asymptotic ray theory provides valid field everywhere except at focal point where it gives infinite value. Singularity of the field at focal point is addressed using Maslov's method. The derived analytical field expressions at caustic or focal point of uniaxial quadratic inhomogeneous slab have been solved numerically using MATHEMATICA. The effects of chirality parameter, axial permittivity, transvers permittivity, angle of incidence on the refracted field are discussed and the effects of Brewster angle on the focussed field are also discussed. The results obtained using Maslov's method are compared with Huygens–Kirchhoff's integral which are in good agreement.  相似文献

Radiation-induced graft copolymerization of acrylamide/N,N-(dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate (AAm/DMAEMA) onto low density polyethylene films was carried out. The effect of grafting conditions such as solvent type and comonomer composition were studied. Characterization of the prepared films was investigated by Fourier transform infrared. Some selected properties such as thermal stability and swelling behavior were determined. It was found that grafting efficiency, swelling behavior and thermal stability increased with increasing DMAEMA content. Scanning electron microscopy was used for predicting the change in surface morphology via the grafted films. The improvement in properties of the prepared films make it possible to use them in some practical applications.  相似文献
