Synthesis of glycerol-thiophene nanoparticles,a suitable sensing platform for voltammetric determination of guaifenesin

Boronic acid functionalized materials have gained much attention in both chemistry and biology fields due to their multivalent covalent interactions with cis-diol containing (macro) molecules. The remarkable progress in this field has resulted in the development of their biomedical applications, such as, biosensors and nanocarriers. In this study, the spherical nanoparticles consisting of glycerol and 2,5-thiophenediylbisboronic acid were synthesized by one-pot ring opening copolymerization of a mixture of glycidol and 2,5-thiophenediylbisboronic acid. The synthesized nanoparticles were used for the modification of the glassy carbon electrode and the determination of Guaifenesin. The synthesized polymeric nanoparticles were characterized by different spectroscopic and microscopic methods including UV–vis, IR, NMR, DLS, and SEM. Additionally, the electrochemical behavior of the fabricated electrode toward Guaifenesin was investigated with cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.     

Green synthesis of the 1-substituted 1H-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrazoles over bifunctional catalyst based on copper intercalated into Mg/Al hydrotalcite modified magnetite nanoparticles

An effective one-pot, convenient process for the synthesis of 1- substituted 1H-tetrazoles from triethyl orthoformate, amines, and sodium azide is described using copper (II) doped and immobilized on functionalized magnetic hydrotalcite (Fe₃O₄/HT-NH₂ Cu^II) as a novel recyclable catalyst. The application of this catalyst allows the synthesis of a variety of tetrazoles in good to excellent yields in water. The new catalyst was characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), vibration sample magnetometry (VSM) and inductively coupled plasma analysis (ICP-OES). This new procedure offers several advantages such as short operational simplicity, practicability, and applicability to various substrates and the absence of any tedious workup or purification. The loading amount of Cu^II (doped and immobilized) on functionalized magnetic hydrotalcite was indicated to be 4.66 mmol g⁻¹, obtained from the ICP-OES analysis. Also, the excellent catalytic performance, thermal stability, and separation of the catalyst make it an excellent heterogeneous system and a useful alternative to other heterogeneous catalysts. Also, the catalyst could be magnetically separated and reused six times without significant loss of catalytic activity.

(2‐Aminopyrimidine‐κN1)aqua(pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylato‐κ3O2,N,O6)copper(II): X‐ray and DFT calculated structure

In the title compound, [Cu(C₇H₃N₂O₄)(C₄H₅N₂)(H₂O)], (I), pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylate (pydc²⁻), 2‐aminopyrimidine and aqua ligands coordinate the Cu^II centre through two N atoms, two carboxylate O atoms and one water O atom, respectively, to give a nominally distorted square‐pyramidal coordination geometry, a common arrangement for copper complexes containing the pydc²⁻ ligand. Because of the presence of Cu...X_bridged contacts (X = N or O) between adjacent molecules in the crystal structures of (I) and three analogous previously reported compounds, and the corresponding uncertainty about the effective coordination number of the Cu^II centre, density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to elucidate the degree of covalency in these contacts. The calculated Wiberg and Mayer bond‐order indices reveal that the Cu...O contact can be considered as a coordination bond, whereas the amine group forming a Cu...N contact is not an effective participant in the coordination environment.     

On primeness of general skew inverse Laurent series ring

Ever since the introduction, skew inverse Laurent series rings have kept growing in importance, as researchers characterized their properties (such as Noetherianness, Armendarizness, McCoyness, etc.) in terms of intrinsic properties of the base ring and studied their relations with other fields of mathematics, as for example quantum mechanics theory. The goal of our paper is to study the primeness and semiprimeness of general skew inverse Laurent series rings R((x^?1;σ,δ)), where R is an associative ring equipped with an automorphism σ and a σ-derivation δ.
