Existence and Uniqueness of Endemic States for the Age-structured MSEIR Epidemic Model

The existence and uniqueness of positive steady states for the age-structured MSEIR epidemic model with age-dependent transmission coefficient is considered. Threshold results for the existence of endemic states are established; under certain conditions, uniqueness is also shown.     

Tandem mass spectrum of a growth hormone secretagogue: Amide bond cleavage and resultant gas-phase rearrangement

Compound 1 [N-[1(R)-[(1,2-dihydro-1-methylsulfonylspiro[3H-indole-3,4'-piperidin]-1'-yl)carbonyl]-2-(phenylmethyloxy)ethyl]-2-amino-2-methylpropanamide](MW 528) is an orally-active growth hormone secretagogue (GHS). As part of a continual effort to analyze the ESI/MS and MSn data of novel drugs, the ESI/MS and MS/MS data of protonated 1 (m/z 529) are analyzed and reported here. The analyses reveal that under low-energy collision-induced dissociation (CID) in an ion trap or a quadrupole collision cell, protonated 1 undergoes a gas-phase rearrangement to form protonated 3 (m/z 357) which competes with the y- and b-type product ions during the amide bond cleavages of protonated 1. It is proposed that when the b-type ion is formed by cleavage of the piperidine amide bond, piperidine (a neutral species) and the b-ion (a cation) form an ion-neutral complex. In this complex, piperidine functions as a nucleophile to attack the benzylic carbon of the b-ion, and the protonated ether group in the b-ion acts as a leaving group, which results in the migration of the benzylic group to the piperidine amine to form protonated 3. Protonated 2 (an analog of 1) was studied under the same experimental conditions. The results show that protonated 2 undergoes a similar rearrangement to form protonated 3. While this rearrangement is a relatively minor fragmentation process for protonated 1, it is a predominant process for protonated 2. This phenomenon is explained in terms of the proposed ion-neutral-complex mechanism.

The quaternary carbon center C-2＇ was constructed on the basis of a newly developed AIEt3-promoted tandem reductive rearrangement of α-hydroxy epoxides.     

The Index of the Complex Eigenvalues of a Parity Progressive Population Operator

In this paper we discuss the index of the complex eigenvalue of a parity progressive population operator. Under certain conditions, we first prove that all the complex eigenvalues of this operator, except at most finitely many ones, are of index 1, and then, as an application of this result, we obtain the asymptotic expansion of the solution of the corresponding parity progressive population equation.     

Stability of an age-structured epidemiological model for hepatitis C

This article introduces an age-structured epidemiological model for the disease transmission dynamics of hepatitis C. We first show that the infection-free steady state is locally and globally asymptotically stable if the basic reproductive number ? ₀ is below one, in this case, the disease always dies out, then we prove that at least one endemic steady state exists when the reproductive number ? ₀ is above one, the stability conditions for the endemic steady states are also given.

分光光度法研究在氯化钠-四丁基溴化铵体系中Au(Ⅲ)与U(Ⅵ)、Ce(Ⅲ)、Mg(Ⅱ)和Cu(Ⅱ)的浮选分离

用分光光度法研究了氯化钠和四丁基溴化铵浮选分离金的行为及与一些金属离子分离的条件。结果表明,当溶液中氯化钠和四丁基溴化铵的浓度分别为2.5×10-3mol/L和4.0×10-4mol/L,pH3.0时,Au(Ⅲ)可与U(Ⅵ)、Ce(Ⅲ)、Mg(Ⅱ)和Cu(Ⅱ)离子定量分离,对合成水样中Au(Ⅲ)的分离和测定,结果满意。     

基于自相位调制效应的硅基中红外全光二极管

信号单向导通器件是集成光学中一种重要的基本元件,而中红外波段在空间遥感,光谱分析等领域都有极其重要的应用.本文提出了一种由两个硅基微环谐振腔构成,基于自相位调制效应的硅基中红外全光二极管,并利用数值模拟的方法进行了分析.结果表明,在输入光强为0.5 mW到20 mW之间时,其非互易导通率可以大于20 dB,且正向透过时损耗小于10 dB.此外,本文还讨论了环形谐振腔中的线性吸收率,以及双稳态效应对结果的影响.
