A generalized F-expansion method is introduced and applied to (3+1 )-dimensional Kadomstev-Petviashvili(KP) equation. As a result, some new Jacobi elliptic function solutions of the equation are found, from which the trigonometric function solutions and the solitary wave solutions can be obtained. By use of the Hartree approximation and the method of multiple scales, we
investigate quantum solitons and intrinsic localized modes in a
one-dimensional antiferromagnetic chain. It is shown that there exist
solitons of two different quantum frequency bands: i.e., magnetic optical
solitons and acoustic solitons. At the boundary of the Brillouin zone, these
solitons become quantum intrinsic localized modes: their quantum
eigenfrequencies are below the bottom of the harmonic optical frequency band
and above the top of the harmonic acoustic frequency band. 相似文献

The dynamical evolution and stability of
bright dissipative holographic solitons in biased photorefractive materials
in which the self-trapping beam obtains a gain from the pump beam via two-wave
mixing has been investigated numerically. Results show that these solitons are stable relative to small
perturbations. Adjusting some system parameters, such as the bias field and
the angle between beams, can easily control the generation of such solitons.
Potential applications in optical switches or repeaters are discussed. 相似文献

In consideration of adiabatic dust charge variation, the
combined effect of the external magnetized field and the dust
temperature on head-on collision of the three-dimensional dust
acoustic solitary waves is investigated. By using the extended
Poincar\'e--Lighthill--Kuo method, the phase shifts and the
trajectories of two solitons after the collision are obtained. The
effects of the magnitude and the obliqueness of the external
magnetic field and the dust temperature on the

This paper is devoted to the study of the underlying linearities of the coupled
Harry--Dym (cHD) soliton hierarchy, including the well-known cHD equation. Resorting
to the nonlinearization of Lax pairs, a family of finite-dimensional Hamiltonian
systems associated with soliton equations are presented, constituting the
decomposition of the cHD soliton hierarchy. After suitably introducing the
Abel--Jacobi coordinates on a Riemann surface, the cHD soliton hierarchy can be
ultimately reduced to linear superpositions,

In the classical
Peierls--Nabarro (P-N) theory of dislocation,
there is a long-standing contradiction that the stable configuration
of dislocation has maximum energy rather than minimum energy. In
this paper, the dislocation energy is calculated rigorously in the
context of the full lattice theory. It is found that besides the
misfit energy considered in the classical P-N theory, there is an
extra elastic strain energy that is also associated with the
discreteness of lattice. The contradiction can be automatically
removed provided that the elastic strain energy associated with the
discreteness is taken into account. This elastic strain energy is
very important because its magnitude is larger than the misfit
energy, its sign is opposite to the misfit energy. Since the elastic
strain energy and misfit energy associated with discreteness cancel
each other, and the width of dislocation becomes wide in the lattice
theory, the Peierls energy, which measures the height of the
effective potential barrier, becomes much smaller than that given in
the classical P-N theory. The results calculated here agree with
experimental data. Furthermore, based on the results obtained, a
useful formula of the Peierls stress is proposed to fully include

In this paper the generation of four-wave mixing (FWM) signal using a
noncycling transition of caesium atoms is investigated when the pumping laser
is locked to the transition $6{\rm S}_{1/2}F=4\to6{\rm P}_{3/2}F'=4$, and
meanwhile the probe frequency is scanned across the $6{\rm S}_{1/2}F=4
\to6{\rm P}_{3/2}$ transition. The efficiency of the four-wave mixing signal
as a function of the intensity of the pumping beams and the detuning of the
pumping beams is also studied. In order to increase the detection
efficiency, a repumping laser which is resonant with $6{\rm S}_{1/2}
F=3\to 6{\rm P}_{3/2}F'=4$ transition is used. A theoretical model is also
introduced, and the theoretical results are in qualitative agreement with

A new anisotropic potential is fitted to {\it ab initio} data. The close-coupling
approach is utilized to calculate state-to-state rotational excitation
partial wave cross sections for elastic and inelastic collisions of He atom
with HBr molecule based on the fitted potential. The calculation is
performed separately at the incident energies: 75, 100 and 200~meV.The
tendency of the elastic and inelastic rotational excitation partial wave
