For the packaging of a pump laser in butterfly package, the most crucial assembly step is the fiber-to-laser diode coupling and attachment. The use of laser welding as the joining method offers several advantages if compared with the adhesive joints: strong joining strength, short process time and less contamination. This paper reports on laser welding process characteristics; weld strength and its fracture mode. The penetration depth and melt area of laser spot welds were found to be complicated functions of laser pulse energy, intensity, and beam diameter. Effects of pulse width, input power and size of the focal spot on the rate of energy input to the workpieces and consequently, the weld strength were reported. The weld strength was found to be dependent on the overlapping area between the two joining materials. Surface roughness, Ra, has influence on the fraction of energy absorbed, A, and therefore, affecting the penetration depth. Thermal analysis was carried out on the laser-welded joints and its heat-affected zone (HAZ) induced by various power densities was examined. These data are important in order to optimize and utilize the laser welding process as an effective manufacturing tool for fabrication of reliable pump laser.  相似文献

基于惠更斯-菲涅耳衍射积分公式,研究了宽带光束在菲涅耳衍射区的自由空间传输特性,得到宽带光束传输的调制深度与光束带宽Δλ及菲涅耳数F的变化关系。结果表明:一定的带宽对光束的均匀性有适当的改善;当光束的带宽Δλ<2λ0/F时,带宽越大,光束越均匀;当带宽满足条件Δλ=2λ0/F时,菲涅耳衍射完全消失;在一定的菲涅耳数范围内,宽带光束的调制深度随菲涅耳数振荡变化,振荡曲线的主极大值和次极大值分别出现在菲涅耳数为奇数和偶数处,而极小值则出现在菲涅耳数F=2k±1/3(k=1,2,3,…)处,在极小值处光束的均匀性最好。  相似文献

The main goal of the present paper is to sharpen some results about the error made when the Wild sums, used to represent the solution of the Kac analog of Boltzmann’s equation, are truncated at the n-th stage. More precisely, in Carlen, Carvalho and Gabetta (J. Funct. Anal. 220: 362–387 (2005)), one finds a bound for the above-mentioned error which depends on (an Λ+ε). On the one hand, it is shown that Λ, the least negative eigenvalue of the linearized collision operator, is the best possible exponent. On the other hand, ε is an extra strictly positive number and a a positive coefficient which depends on ε too. Thus, it is interesting to check whether ε can be removed from the above bound. According to the aforesaid reference, this problem is studied here by means of the probability distribution of the depth of a leaf in a McKean random tree. In fact, an accurate study of the probability generating function of such a depth leads to conclude that the above bound can be replaced with (an Λ).  相似文献

Recently, the semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) has become a key component of passive mode-locked solid-state lasers. Here we present a simple method based on the reflection Z-scan technique to measure the key optical parameters of SESAM such as saturation fluence and modulation depth. The experimental results demonstrate that our method is able to perform with a high accuracy of 10−4 and a dynamic range of over four orders of magnitude.  相似文献

Fibre reinforced NiAl offers new possibilities for the development of high strength structural materials of low density applicable in gas turbines at high operating temperatures. The properties of composite materials are strongly influenced by the strength of the fibre–matrix interface. In addition, if fibre and matrix differ in their thermal expansion coefficients, a well controlled interface reaction at high temperature changes is demanded. Therefore, two layers consisting of BN and Hf were embedded between a sapphire fibre and NiAl and heated at 1350 °C to find a compromise between adhesion and ductility. The control and characterization of the reaction zone is essential for the development of these new materials. Especially, the characterization of the fibre-coating interface is a challenge. The different hardness of fibre and coating makes it nearly impossible to use a conventional cross-section preparation. Further, the small dimension of the reaction zone requires the use of analytical techniques providing high lateral resolution. In order to accomplish these requirements, a newly developed technique FIB (Focused Ion Beam)-EPMA (Electron Probe Microanalysis) was combined with XRD (X-ray diffraction). XRD was performed for the identification of the phases. The reaction zone was exposed by a special FIB preparation technique and examined by surface-sensitive EPMA. This allowed to determine the spatial distribution of the different phases.  相似文献

Derivation of two point spread functions PSFs suitable for infrared thermograms analysis is illustrated, based on two unique approaches, one based on depth decaying limit and one on diffusion limit. Experimental work using PMMA sample with back drilled holes and pulsed thermographic routine is utilized to show the effectiveness of deconvoluting pixel temperature transient history with suggested PSF’s. Synthetic second time derivative thermograms are utilized for comparison and the signal to noise ratio is used as a figure of merit for quantification.  相似文献

Analytical approaches have been developed for one-dimensional monochromatic delta-Eddington radiative transfer equation through a vertically inhomogeneous medium. They are based on the solution of the Riccati equation that arises from the decoupling of the two-stream radiances, and seek to approximate the exponent functions in the solution as opposed to finding the solution as a whole. Depending on the case, Green–Liouville approximation or other techniques presented in this paper are utilized for finding these exponents. Though developed for atmospheric radiative transfer problems applicable to the global climate change modelling, and for non-invasive medical applications on tissue–light interactions, the techniques considered here are quiet general in nature. Hence, they can also be useful in other boundary value problems of the diffusion type that involve linear second order ordinary differential equations with variable coefficients.  相似文献
