The delamination of titanium carbide sheets, an intriguing class of two‐dimensional materials, has been critically dependent on the extraction of interlayer Al in acidic media, such as concentrated hydrofluoric acid (HF) or a mixture of hydrochloric acid (HCl) and a fluoride salt. Herein, we report an organic‐base‐driven intercalation and delamination of titanium carbide that takes advantage of the amphoteric nature of interlayer Al. The resulting aluminum‐oxoanion‐functionalized titanium carbide sheets manifested unusually strong optical absorption in the near‐infrared (NIR) region with a mass extinction coefficient as high as 29.1 L g?1 cm?1 at 808 nm. Thus, the performance of this material is comparable or even superior to that of state‐of‐the‐art photoabsorption materials, including gold‐based nanostructures, carbon‐based materials, and transition‐metal dichalcogenides. Preliminary studies show that the titanium carbide sheets serve as efficient photothermal agents against tumor cells. 相似文献

The use of magnetic nanoparticles to convert electromagnetic energy into heat is known to be a key strategy for numerous biomedical applications but is also an approach of growing interest in the field of catalysis. The heating efficiency of magnetic nanoparticles is limited by the poor magnetic properties of most of them. Here we show that the new generation of iron carbide nanoparticles of controlled size and with over 80 % crystalline Fe2.2C leads to exceptional heating properties, which are much better than the heating properties of currently available nanoparticles. Associated to catalytic metals (Ni, Ru), iron carbide nanoparticles submitted to magnetic excitation very efficiently catalyze CO2 hydrogenation in a dedicated continuous‐flow reactor. Hence, we demonstrate that the concept of magnetically induced heterogeneous catalysis can be successfully applied to methanation of CO2 and represents an approach of strategic interest in the context of intermittent energy storage and CO2 recovery. 相似文献

Adsorption of Cu(II) from aqueous solution on a novel adsorbent, silicon carbide ash (SiC ash), was studied using batch technique. The adsorbent was prepared by pyrolysis of Egyptian rice waste (rice straw and rice husk) and was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive x-ray (EDX), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction (XRD), and surface area analysis by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) Theory. The influence of pH, contact time, initial Cu(II) concentration, adsorbent dose, agitation speed, and temperature was investigated. Adsorption kinetics was analyzed using the pseudo-first-order, the pseudo-second-order, and intraparticular diffusion model. The adsorption process was found to follow a pseudo-second-order rate mechanism. The adsorption isotherm data could be well described by the Langmuir and Freundlich than the Dubinin–Radushkevich adsorption model. The adsorption capacity of 22.06 mg g?1for SiC ash was obtained at pH = 5 and temperature of 298 K. Thermodynamic parameters, change in the free energy (ΔG°), the enthalpy (ΔH°), and the entropy (ΔS°), were also calculated. The overall adsorption process was exothermic, spontaneous in nature, and proceeds with decreased randomness as the entropy is negative value. In this article, the tensile strength, impact, and hardness properties of silicon carbide (SiC) reinforced with polyamide 6 (PA6) are described for the first time. The composites were fabricated by an injection molding method using the SiC with varying weight percentages. The tensile and hardness of SiC/PA6 composites showed a regular trend of increasing tensile strength, impact, and hardness properties with varying weight percentages until 10 wt% and impact strength of SiC/PA6 composites increased up to 5 wt% afterwards decreasing the mechanical properties of the composite with greater weight percentages. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) studies were carried out to evaluate the SiC/PA6 interactions. The results related to SiC/PA6 composites were compared with those obtained for pure PA6. 相似文献

Room-temperature magnetic properties of SiC based nanowires synthesized via microwave heating method
Two kinds of ferromagnetic SiC based nanowires with and without Ni catalyst were successfully synthesized by employing microwave heating method. The comprehensive characterizations and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) have been applied to investigate the micro-structures and magnetic properties of as-grown nanowires. For the nanowires synthesized without using Ni catalyst, the diameters and lengths are in the range of 20–60 nm and dozens of micrometers, respectively. Particularly, the results of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) show that the nanowires consist of SiC core and SiOx shell. The SiC/SiOx coaxial nanowires exhibit room-temperature ferromagnetism with saturation magnetization (Ms) of 0.2 emu/g. As to the nanowires obtained using Ni catalyst, the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results indicate that the Ni catalyzed nanowires have a nano-particle attached on the tip and a uniform diameter of approximately 50 nm. The vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth mechanism can be used to explain the formation of the Ni catalyzed nanowires. The detection result of VSM indicates that the Ni catalyzed nanowires possess the paramagnetism and the ferromagnetism, simultaneously. The enhancement of the ferromagnetism, compared with the SiC/SiOx coaxial nanowires, could be attributed to the Ni2Si and NiSi phases. 相似文献

A pressure generation test for Kawai-type multianvil apparatus (KMA) has been made using second-stage anvils of a newly developed ultra-hard tungsten carbide composite. Superb performance of the new anvil with significantly less plastic deformation was confirmed as compared to those commonly used for the KMA experiments. A maximum pressure of ~48?GPa was achieved using the new anvils with a truncation edge length (TEL) of 1.5?mm, based on in situ X-ray diffraction measurements. Further optimization of materials and sizes of the pressure medium/gasket should lead to pressures even higher than 50?GPa in KMA using this novel tungsten carbide composite, which may also be used for expansion of the pressure ranges in other types of high pressure apparatus operated in large volume press. 相似文献

The thickness of the altered layer created by ion bombardment of the 6H–SiC single crystal was determined by means of Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) depth profiling in conjunction with factor analysis. After pre-bombardment of the surface by argon ions with energies 1, 2 and 4 keV until the steady state, the depth profiles of the induced altered layers were recorded by sputtering with low energy argon ions of 300 eV. Since the position and shape of the carbon Auger peak depend on the perfection of the crystalline structure, they were used for depth profile evaluation by factor analysis. In this way the depth profiles of the damaged surface region could be estimated in dependence on the ion energy. As a result, the thickness of the altered layer of SiC bombarded with 1, 2 and 4 keV Ar ions using an incident angle of 80° as well as the corresponding argon implantation profile could be measured. 相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) experiments on materials of low thermal conductance can cause black-body emission from the sample even at low intensities of laser excitation. This thermal emission may be misinterpreted in terms of quantum emission. Although the quantum origin of most radiative emissions in nanostructured materials such as porous silicon is well established, we show in this paper that SiC nanoparticles and mechanically milled Si do exhibit thermal emission at typical excitation intensities for PL measurements provided the samples are under vacuum. An Si membrane was also investigated and the fact that it did not emit black-body radiation is explained with a simple analysis of the heating in materials of reduced dimensionality. 相似文献
