Global Behavior of the Solutions of a Max-Equation and of a System of Two Max-Equations

In this paper we study the existence of generalized invariants, the periodicity, the boundedness and persistence of the solutions of a Max-equation and of a system of two Max-equations.     

On Functionals Bounded Below

In this paper, we prove that the infimum of a functional with a lower bound is a critical value. The novelty is that we do not need the Palais–Smale type condition.

Boundedness and Dissipativity of Truncated Rotations on Uniform Planar Lattices

The finiteness of computer arithmetic can lead to some dramatic differences between the behaviour of a continuous dynamical system and a computer simulation. A thorough rigorous theoretical analysis of what may or what does happen is usually extremely difficult and to date little has been done even in relatively simple contexts. The comparative behaviour of a rotation mapping in the plane and on a uniform lattice in the plane is one such example. Simulations show that the rounding operator applied to a planar rotation mapping more or less preserves the qualitative behaviour of the original mapping, whereas the application of the truncation operator to a planar rotation can lead to quite different dynamical features. In this paper a theoretical justification of the properties of the planar rotation mappings under truncation to a, uniform integer lattice is provided, in particular properties of boundedness and dissipativity are investigated.     

Boundedness of Marcinkiewicz integrals and their commutators in H~1(R~n×R~m)

The authors establish the boundedness of Marcinkiewicz integrals from the Hardy space H1(Rn×Rm) to the Lebesgue space L1(Rn×Rm) and their commutators with Lipschitz functions from the Hardy space H1(Rn×Rm) to the Lebesgue space Lq(Rn×Rm) for some q>1

The space localization of unbounded boundary perturbations in nonlinear heat conduction with transfer

We consider the nonlinear parabolic equation u_t = (k(u)u_x)_x + b(u)_x, where u = u(x, t, x ε R¹, t > 0; k(u) ≥ 0, b(u) ≥ 0 are continuous functions as u ≥ 0, b (0) = 0; k, b > 0 as u > 0. At t = 0 nonnegative, continuous and bounded initial value is prescribed. The boundary condition u(0, t) = Ψ(t) is supposed to be unbounded as t → +∞. In this paper, sufficient conditions for space localization of unbounded boundary perturbations are found. For instance, we show that nonlinear equation u_t = (uⁿu_x)_x + (u^β)_x, n ≥ 0, β >; n + 1, exhibits the phenomenon of “inner boundedness,” for arbitrary unbounded boundary perturbations.
