Antibacterial thermoplastic polyurethane electrospun fiber mats prepared by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane-assisted adsorption of Ag nanoparticles

Antibacterial thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU) electrospun fiber mats were prepared by adsorption of Ag nanoparticles(Ag NPs) onto TPU/3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APS) co-electrospun fiber mats from silver sol. The use of APS can functionalize TPU fibers with amino groups, facilitating the adsorption of Ag NPs. The effects of p H of silver sol and APS content on Ag NP adsorption and antibacterial activity were investigated. Ag NP adsorption was evidenced by TEM, XPS and TGA. Significant Ag NP adsorption occurred at p H = 3-5. The main driving force for Ag NP adsorption is electrostatic interaction between ―NH3~+ of the fibers and ―COO-derived from the ―COOH group capped on the surfaces of Ag NPs. The antibacterial activity of the Ag NP-decorated TPU/APS fiber mats was investigated using both gram-negative Escherichia coli and gram-positive Bacillus subtilis. The antibacterial rate increases with increasing APS content up to 5% where the antibacterial rates against both types of bacteria are over 99.9%.     

Total synthesis of graphislactone G

We present a total synthesis of the fungal natural product graphislactone G, a chlorinated resorcylic lactone. The key step is a Suzuki coupling used for the construction of the central biaryl bond. Graphislactone G was prepared in 13 steps with 22% yield starting with orcinol and phloroglucinic acid, where the longest linear sequence consists of nine steps.

Deriving Energy-Gap of Some Hamiltonians with Kinetic Coupling by the Invariant Eigen-Operator Method

We begin with proposing a unitary operator responsible for diagonalizing the Hamiltonian with kinetic couplings in particle physics to get a new form of Hamiltonian which has no coupling terms. By virtue of the invariant eigen-operator (IEO) method we search for the invariant eigen-operators for the new Hamiltonian. In this way the energy-gap of the Hamiltonians can be naturally obtained. This method may be generalized to N-mode Hamiltonian with kinetic couplings case. The electronic transport properties for a single-wall ZnO nanotube with different coupling interfaces

The transport properties of a single-wall ZnO nanotube contacted with two Au (Al or Cu ) electrodes are investigated by a theoretical approach. Our results suggest the contact resistance for ZnO nanotube connected with Au electrodes is the largest one as compared with Al and Cu acting as electrodes. The local density of states (LDOS) near the ZnO nanotube/Cu(Al) interface shows the strong electronic interaction. Also shown is that for Au–ZnO system, we can observe a best rectifying performance, the next is the Al–ZnO system, and the third is Cu–ZnO system. This rectification is also fully rationalized by the calculated transmission spectra, the spatial distribution of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital and highest occupied molecular orbital states, and the electrostatic potential distribution.     

Synthesis of Lignans Based on a Borate-mediated One-pot Sequential Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling of Cyclic Boranes

Lignans are a group of polyphenolic phytochemicals that possess a large spectrum of chemical structures and biological activities. Here the syntheses of lignans – anwulignan, burseran, dehydroxycubebin, ruburisandrin B, and sesamin – are achieved based on a borate-mediated one-pot sequential Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of cis- and trans-fused bicyclic boranes, which were prepared by diastereoselective cyclic hydroboration of exo-cyclic diene with cyclopentyl- and thexylboranes, respectively. A one-pot sequential Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of each cyclic borate with various aryl bromides initiated by activation of the cyclic borane with the carbon nucleophile provided 2,3-dibenzylbutane derivatives with different aromatic substituents. Finally, the syntheses of naturally occurring lignans were accomplished in several steps from the products of Suzuki-Miyaura coupling.     

One-pot synthesis of arylfluoroalkylsulfoxides and study of their anomalous F NMR behavior

Arylfluoroalkylsulfoxides were successfully synthesized in one-pot when fluoroalkylsulfinate reacted with benzene and triflic anhydride in triflic acid and dichloromethane as the medium. The characteristics of their ¹⁹F NMR spectra were examined and analyzed for these structures. Electronic and steric effects of substituents at α- or β-position were revealed to be the main cause of the anomalous behavior of their chemical shifts and coupling constants. Interactions between arylfluoroalkylsulfoxides and solvents were also investigated and discussed.     

Polyion complex stabilized palladium nanoparticles for Suzuki and Heck reaction in water

Palladium nanoparticles stabilized by a polyion complex composed of poly{4-chloromethylstyrene-co-(4-vinylbenzyl) tributylammonium chloride} and poly(acrylic acid) were easily recovered by filtration after pH treatment. The polyion complex stabilized palladium nanoparticles have high catalytic activity for the Suzuki and Heck reactions in water.     

Reflection coefficients of oversized coupling holes

Very simple analytical expressions are proposed for the reflection coefficients of coupling holes used in FIR waveguide lasers. The relations are carried out for dielectric and metallic circular waveguides.     

氨基偶氮苯磺酸钠系列中间体的合成

采用保护氨基的方法，合成了氨基偶氮苯磺酸钠系列中间体，经IR及13C NMR表征表明，合成得到的产品结构与理论结构相符，进一步说明此合成方法是可行的。
