Quasi-invariance of the Wiener measure on the path space over a complete Riemannian manifold

We prove a generalization of the Cameron-Martin theorem for a geometrically and stochastically complete Riemannian manifold; namely, the Wiener measure on the path space over such a manifold is quasi-invariant under the flow generated by a Cameron-Martin vector field.

强正则剩余格值逻辑系统（L）N及其完备性

正则剩余格是一类重要的模糊逻辑代数系统,而常见的模糊逻辑形式系统大多数带有非联接词,并且相应的Lindenbaum代数都是正则剩余格.本文以强正则剩余格为语义,建立了一个一般的命题演算形式系统LN,并且证明了这个系统的完备性.几种常见的带有非联接词的模糊逻辑形式系统都是系统LN的扩张.     

Constants in Kripke Models for Intuitionistic Logic

We present a technique to extend a Kripke structure (for intuitionistic logic) into an elementary extension satisfying some property (cardinality, saturation, etc.) which can be “axiomatized” by a family of sets of sentences, where, most often, many constant symbols occur. To that end, we prove extended theorems of completeness and compactness. Also, a section of the paper is devoted to the back-and-forth construction of isomorphisms between Kripke structures.     

Equivalence of completeness and contraction property

In this paper, we consider the completeness and the contraction property in metric spaces and show that the contraction property implies Lipschitz-completeness or arcwise-completeness in a metric space. However, in a metric space, the contraction property does not imply the usual completeness. We prove that a locally Lipschitz-connected metric space has the contraction property if and only if it is Lipschitz-complete and that a locally arcwise-connected metric space is arcwise-complete if and only if has the strong contraction property.

     

Generalized Airy Stress Functions

The classical Airy stress function in planar elastostatics cannot, in general, be a smooth function for multiply connected domains. Moreover, if a non-null body force field is active the classical Airy representation for the stress is not complete. Here, a generalized Airy representation for the stress is presented which preserves smoothness and which is complete. The generalized form identifies the explicit additional pieces that are needed for completeness in multiply connected domains and when a body force field is present.

四元数Hilbert空间中Riesz基的刻画*

四元数Hilbert空间在应用物理科学特别是量子物理中占有重要地位.本文讨论四元数Hilbert空间的框架理论, 在四元数Hilbert空间中引入了Riesz基的概念, 在此基础上刻画了Riesz基,给出了它们的一些等价条件; 特别地, 得到了四元数Hilbert空间中的一个序列是Riesz基的充要条件是它是一个具有双正交序列的完备Bessel序列,且它的双正交序列也是一个完备Bessel序列; 并进一步证明了双正交序列中一个序列的完备性可以从特征刻画中去除.文中举例说明了双正交性、完备性和Bessel性质之间的关系.     

Quantum discord is Bohr’s notion of non-mechanical disturbance introduced to counter the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen argument

By rigorously formalizing the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) argument, and Bohr’s reply, one can appreciate that both arguments were technically correct. Their opposed conclusions about the completeness of quantum mechanics hinged upon an explicit difference in their criteria for when a measurement on Alice’s system can be regarded as not disturbing Bob’s system. The EPR criteria allow their conclusion–incompleteness–to be reached by establishing the physical reality of just a single observable q$q$ (not of both q$q$ and its conjugate observable p$p$), but I show that Bohr’s definition of disturbance prevents the EPR chain of reasoning from establishing even this. Moreover, I show that Bohr’s definition is intimately related to the asymmetric concept of quantum discord from quantum information theory: if and only if the joint state has no Alice-discord, she can measure any observable without disturbing (in Bohr’s sense) Bob’s system. Discord can be present even when systems are unentangled, and this has implications for our understanding of the historical development of notions of quantum nonlocality.     

Polynomial approximation: a structural and operational study

This is a summary of the most important results of the author’s PhD thesis. This thesis, supervised by Vangelis Th. Paschos, was defended in October 2005 at the Université Paris Dauphine. It is written in French and is available on-line. The thesis is focused on combinatorial optimization problems, studied from the standpoint of polynomial approximation theory.
