Geometric and topological rigidity for compact submanifolds of odd dimension

We investigate rigidity problems for odd-dimensional compact submanifolds.We show that if Mn(n 5)is an odd-dimensional compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in Sn+p,and if RicM(n-2-1n)(1+H2)and Hδn,whereδn is an explicit positive constant depending only on n,then M is a totally umbilical sphere.Here H is the mean curvature of M.Moreover,we prove that if Mn(n 5)is an odd-dimensional compact submanifold in the space form Fn+p(c)with c 0,and if RicM(n-2-εn)(c+H2),whereεn is an explicit positive constant depending only on n,then M is homeomorphic to a sphere.

本文首先利用由两组具有局部最小支集的样条所组成的基函数,构造非均匀2 型三角剖分上二元三次样条空间S₃^1,2(Δ_mn⁽²⁾)的若干样条拟插值算子. 这些变差缩减算子由样条函数B_ij¹支集上5 个网格点或中心和样条函数B_ij²支集上5 个网格点处函数值定义. 这些样条拟插值算子具有较好的逼近性,甚至算子V_mn（f） 能保持近最优的三次多项式性. 然后利用连续模,分析样条拟插值算子V_mn（f）一致逼近于充分光滑的实函数. 最后推导误差估计.     

On the modulus of continuity for spectral measures in substitution dynamics

The paper gives first quantitative estimates on the modulus of continuity of the spectral measure for weak mixing suspension flows over substitution automorphisms, which yield information about the “fractal” structure of these measures. The main results are, first, a Hölder estimate for the spectral measure of almost all suspension flows with a piecewise constant roof function; second, a log-Hölder estimate for self-similar suspension flows; and, third, a Hölder asymptotic expansion of the spectral measure at zero for such flows. Our second result implies log-Hölder estimates for the spectral measures of translation flows along stable foliations of pseudo-Anosov automorphisms. A key technical tool in the proof of the second result is an “arithmetic-Diophantine” proposition, which has other applications. In Appendix A this proposition is used to derive new decay estimates for the Fourier transforms of Bernoulli convolutions.

中等收入人口的确定对于分析一个社会的经济发展,稳定性具有重要的意义.洛伦兹曲线是一种分析中等收入的经典工具.本文提出一种具有更高拟合精度的洛伦兹曲线模型.并基于其几何特征,考虑社会的贫富程度与贫富分化因素,建立了收入空间法与人口空间法的优化模型.     

修理工单重定期休假可修系统更换模型研究

针对修理工带有单重休假的单部件可修系统,提出了一种新的维修更换模型.假定系统是可修的,逐次故障后的维修时间构成随机递增的几何过程,系统工作时间构成随机递增的几何过程,在修理工休假时间为定长的情况下,分别选取系统的总工作时间T和故障维修次数N为更换策略,以长期运行单位时间内的期望效益为目标函数,通过更新过程和几何过程理论建立数学模型,导出了目标函数的解析表达式,通过最大化目标函数来获取系统最优的更换策略T*和N*.并在一定条件下给出了策略N比策略T优的充分条件.最后,通过数值例子验证了方法的有效性.     

套代数弱闭模中的几何秩

由于几何秩在线性等距映射下是不变的,因此几何秩是研究算子代数线性等距映射的一个强有力的工具.证明了在一定条件下,套代数弱闭模中的n秩算子的几何秩的上、下界分别为n2和n(n+1)2,这表明套代数弱闭模中有限秩算子的充要条件是算子的几何秩有限.     

涉及四个单形的一类不等式

本文研究了涉及四个单形的一类不等式问题.利用距离几何的理论和方法获得了两个单形的棱长与另两个单形的内点、中线、高、外接超球半径、内切超球半径、旁切超球半径以及n-1维侧面的体积、外接超球半径、内切超球半径的一类新的几何不等式.推广了文献([5])中的全部结果.     

Weak Continuity and Compactness for Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations

This paper presents several examples of fundamental problems involving weak continuity and compactness for nonlinear partial differential equations, in which compensated compactness and related ideas have played a significant role. The compactness and convergence of vanishing viscosity solutions for nonlinear hyperbolic conservation laws are first analyzed, including the inviscid limit from the Navier-Stokes equations to the Euler equations for homentropic flow, the vanishing viscosity method to construct the global spherically symmetric solutions to the multidimensional compressible Euler equations, and the sonic-subsonic limit of solutions of the full Euler equations for multi-dimensional steady compressible fluids. Then the weak continuity and rigidity of the Gauss-Codazzi-Ricci system and corresponding isometric embeddings in differential geometry are revealed. Further references are also provided for some recent developments on the weak continuity and compactness for nonlinear partial differential equations.     

A finite element formulation satisfying the discrete geometric conservation law based on averaged Jacobians

In this article, a new methodology for developing discrete geometric conservation law (DGCL) compliant formulations is presented. It is carried out in the context of the finite element method for general advective–diffusive systems on moving domains using an ALE scheme. There is an extensive literature about the impact of DGCL compliance on the stability and precision of time integration methods. In those articles, it has been proved that satisfying the DGCL is a necessary and sufficient condition for any ALE scheme to maintain on moving grids the nonlinear stability properties of its fixed‐grid counterpart. However, only a few works proposed a methodology for obtaining a compliant scheme. In this work, a DGCL compliant scheme based on an averaged ALE Jacobians formulation is obtained. This new formulation is applied to the θ family of time integration methods. In addition, an extension to the three‐point backward difference formula is given. With the aim to validate the averaged ALE Jacobians formulation, a set of numerical tests are performed. These tests include 2D and 3D diffusion problems with different mesh movements and the 2D compressible Navier–Stokes equations. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
