Non-self-adjoint sturm-liouville operators with matrix potentials

We obtain asymptotic formulas for non-self-adjoint operators generated by the Sturm-Liouville system and quasiperiodic boundary conditions. Using these asymptotic formulas, we obtain conditions on the potential for which the system of root vectors of the operator under consideration forms a Riesz basis.     

On multiple integrals of special form

Multiple integrals generalizing the iterated kernels of integral operators are expressed as single integrals in the case of a special representation of the kernel (this is our theorem). Besides integral equations, Markov processes involve these integrals as well. As a consequence of the theorem, we obtain transition probability densities of certain Markov processes. As an illustration, we consider nine examples.

Xor on one‐defect systems

We present a network experiment that investigates the computational power of cellular automata on the simplest irregular lattice. One cellular automaton whose apparent complexity increased is Rule 60, the left neighbor Xor operator. It went from being nested to complex. That makes Xor a candidate for universal computational power. The Generalized West Decomposition of Operators and Other Compact Perturbation Problems

This paper introduces the concept of the generalized Riesz operators and the concept of the generalized West decomposition of a general operator which generalizes the definition of the West decomposition of Riesz operators, and proves that the following three statements are equivalent on a general Banach space： （a） Every generalized Riesz operator has the generalized West decomposition; （b） Every operator makes strong Stampfli theorem true; Every operator has Apostol＇s compact correction.     

交流源作用下介观RLC电路系统量子态随时间的演化

根据量子不变量理论，同时考虑介观电容器极板间电子波函数的耦合作用和电路的耗散,研究介观RLC电路系统在交流电流源作用下动力学的演化过程，并且得到描述系统量子态随时间的演化算符.进一步的分析结果表明，介观RLC电路系统的波函数将由任意的初态演化到一般的压缩态. 关键词： 介观RLC电路 交变电源 不变量理论 时间演化算符

提出了将哈密顿算符对角化的一种方法.围绕一维谐振子讨论了如何将哈密顿算符对角化、引进的是玻色算符还是费米算符的问题,并分析了能量量子化的原因及能量子与声子的区别.     

Adaptive application of operators in standard representation

Recently adaptive wavelet methods have been developed which can be shown to exhibit an asymptotically optimal accuracy/work balance for a wide class of variational problems including classical elliptic boundary value problems, boundary integral equations as well as certain classes of noncoercive problems such as saddle point problems. A core ingredient of these schemes is the approximate application of the involved operators in standard wavelet representation. Optimal computational complexity could be shown under the assumption that the entries in properly compressed standard representations are known or computable in average at unit cost. In this paper we propose concrete computational strategies and show under which circumstances this assumption is justified in the context of elliptic boundary value problems. Dedicated to Charles A. In this paper, we are concerned with the problem of stabilization for autonomous dynamical systems. We use theories in Liapunov stability and Lasalle stability theory and show that system (H) is stabilizable.     

Multiple positive solutions for one-dimensional p-Laplacian boundary value problems

By means of the Leggett-Williams fixed-point theorem, criteria are developed for the existence of at least three positive solutions to the one-dimensional p-Laplacian boundary value problem, ((y′))′ + g(t)f(t,y) = 0, y(0) - B₀(y′(0)) = 0, y(1) + B₁(y′(1)) = 0, where (v) |v|^p−2v, p > 1.
