In this paper, a singularly perturbed delay differential equation of first order has been considered. The problem is solved by using a hybrid scheme on a Shishkin mesh. The difference scheme is shown to converge to the continuous solution uniformly with respect to the perturbation parameter. Truncation errors are obtained. Finally, numerical experiments are carried out on a test problem, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed technique.  相似文献

This article presents a solver for delay differential equations (DDEs) called HBO414DDE based on a hybrid variable-step variable-order 3-stage Hermite-Birkhoff-Obrechkoff ODE solver of order 4 to 14. The current version of our method solves DDEs with state dependent, non-vanishing, small, vanishing and asymptotically vanishing delays, except neutral type and initial value DDEs. Delayed values are computed using Hermite interpolation, small delays are dealt with by extrapolation, and discontinuities are located by a bisection method. HBO414DDE was tested on several problems and results were compared with those of known solvers like SYSDEL and the recent Matlab DDE solver ddesd and statistics show that it gives, most of the time, a smaller relative error than the other solvers for the same number of function evaluations.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine the method of characteristic-mixed finite element for the approximation of convex optimal control problem governed by time-dependent convection-diffusion equations with control constraints. For the discretization of the state equation, the characteristic finite element is used for the approximation of the material derivative term (i.e., the time derivative term plus the convection term), and the lowest-order Raviart-Thomas mixed element is applied for the approximation of the diffusion term. We derive some a priori error estimates for both the state and control approximations.  相似文献

In this paper we study alternative tableaux introduced by Viennot [X. Viennot, Alternative tableaux, permutations and partially asymmetric exclusion process, talk in Cambridge, 2008]. These tableaux are in simple bijection with permutation tableaux, defined previously by Postnikov [A. Postnikov, Total positivity, Grassmannians, and networks, arXiv:math/0609764v1 [math.CO], 2006].We exhibit a simple recursive structure for alternative tableaux, from which we can easily deduce a number of enumerative results. We also give bijections between these tableaux and certain classes of labeled trees. Finally, we exhibit a bijection with permutations, and relate it to some other bijections that already appeared in the literature.  相似文献

Given a real number β>1, a permutation π of length n is realized by the β-shift if there is some x∈[0,1] such that the relative order of the sequence x,f(x),…,fn−1(x), where f(x) is the fractional part of βx, is the same as that of the entries of π. Widely studied from such diverse fields as number theory and automata theory, β-shifts are prototypical examples of one-dimensional chaotic dynamical systems. When β is an integer, permutations realized by shifts were studied in Elizalde (2009) [5]. In this paper we generalize some of the results to arbitrary β-shifts. We describe a method to compute, for any given permutation π, the smallest β such that π is realized by the β-shift. We also give a way to determine the length of the shortest forbidden (i.e., not realized) pattern of an arbitrary β-shift.  相似文献

Some convergence results on the kernel density estimator are proven for a class of linear processes with cyclic effects. In particular, we extend the results of Ho and Hsing (1996), Mielniczuk (1997) and Hall and Hart (1990) to the stationary processes for which the singularities of the spectral density are not limited to the origin. We show that the convergence rates and the limiting distribution may be different in this context.  相似文献

We describe a technique for a posteriori error estimates suitable to the optimal control problem governed by the evolution equations solved by the method of lines. It is applied to the control problem governed by the parabolic equation, convection-diffusion equation and hyperbolic equation. In this article, a new stable nonconforming mixed finite element scheme is proposed for the stationary Navier-Stokes equations, in which a new low order CrouzeixRaviart type nonconforming rectangular element is taken for approximating space for the velocity and the piecewise constant element for the pressure. The optimal order error estimates for the approximation of both the velocity and the pressure in L2-norm are established, as well as one in broken H1-norm for the velocity. Numerical experiments are given which are consistent with our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we give several results of learning errors for linear programming support vector regression. The corresponding theorems are proved in the reproducing kernel Hilbert space. With the covering number, the approximation property and the capacity of the reproducing kernel Hilbert space are measured. The obtained result (Theorem 2.1) shows that the learning error can be controlled by the sample error and regularization error. The mentioned sample error is summarized by the errors of learning regression function and regularizing function in the reproducing kernel Hilbert space. After estimating the generalization error of learning regression function (Theorem 2.2), the upper bound (Theorem 2.3) of the regularized learning algorithm associated with linear programming support vector regression is estimated.  相似文献

A novel scheme is proposed for the design of backstepping control for a class of state-feedback nonlinear systems. In the design, the unknown nonlinear functions are approximated by the neural networks (NNs) identification models. The Lyapunov function of every subsystem consists of the tracking error and the estimation errors of NN weight parameters. The adaptive gains are dynamically determined in a structural way instead of keeping them constants, which can guarantee system stability and parameter estimation convergence. When the modeling errors are available, the indirect backstepping control is proposed, which can guarantee the functional approximation error will converge to a rather small neighborhood of the minimax functional approximation error. When the modeling errors are not available, the direct backstepping control is proposed, where only the tracking error is necessary. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.  相似文献
