Quartic B-spline Galerkin approach to the numerical solution of the KdVB equation

The nonlinear Korteweg-de Vries–Burgers’ equation is solved numerically by method of Galerkin using quartic B-splines as both shape and weight functions over the finite intervals. Five test problems are studied to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method. A comparison of numerical results of both algorithm and some published articles is done in computational section. The numerical results are found in good agreement with exact solutions.     

Debye屏蔽势下的Na原子

结合自由Na原子的l-依赖模型势, 采用B-样条基组展开方法计算了等离子体环境中Na原子的的基态能量、振子强度、偶极极化率、四极极化率、八极极化率等随Debye长度的变化. 其中原子的等离子体效应采用Debye屏蔽模型. 计算结果与其他研究者的结果符合得很好; 在Debye屏蔽等离子体环境下下基态能量的结果与Sahoo [Sahoo S Ho Y K 2006 Phys. Plasmas 13, 063301]和Li [Li H W and Kar S, 2012 Phys. Plasmas 19, 073303]用其他模型所得的结果基本一致; 电偶极、四极和八极极化率随Debye长度的变化趋势一致, 数值结果和Li和Kar [Li H W and Kar S, 2012 Phys. Plasmas 19, 073303] 的数量级一致.     

On integro quartic spline interpolation

In this paper, we use quartic B-spline to construct an approximating function to agree with the given integral values of a univariate real-valued function over the same intervals. It is called integro quartic spline interpolation. Our interpolation method is new and easy to implement. Moreover, it can work successfully even without any boundary conditions. The interpolation errors are studied. The super convergence (sixth order and fourth order, respectively) in approximating function values and second-order derivative values at the knots is proved. Numerical examples illustrate that our method is very effective and our integro-interpolating quartic spline has higher approximation ability than others.     

Frequency-modulated excitation of Rydberg potassium atoms by using B-spline

By using the B-spline expansion technique and a model potential of the alkali atoms, the properties of frequency- modulated excitation of Rydberg potassium atoms in a static electric field and a microwave field are investigated by using the time-dependent two-level approach. We successfully reproduce the square wave oscillations in the low frequency, the stair step population oscillations in the intermediate frequency, and the multiphoton transitions in the high frequency with respect to the unmodulated Rabi frequency, which have been observed experimentally by Noel et al. [Phys. Rev. A 58 2265 (1998)]. Furthermore, we also numerically obtain the discretized Rabi oscillations predicted in the Landau-Zener accumulation model.     

三角形约束的平面二次曲线的NURBS表示

非均匀有理Ｂ样条（ＮＵＲＢＳ）是ＣＡＤ设计中广泛使用的技术。本基于平面几何知识给出了三角形约束的圆与椭圆曲线的ＮＵＲＢＳ表示,为工程设计中使用这类曲线提供了可计算性。     

优化端点条件的平面二次均匀B样条插值曲线

在利用反求法构造B样条插值曲线时,往往需要选取端点条件。 因此,可对端点条件进行优化选取,使得构造的B样条插值曲线满足特定要求。提出了一种利用曲线内能极小选取平面二次均匀B样条插值曲线端点条件的算法。首先给出了二次均匀B样条插值曲线分控制顶点与首个控制顶点（即端点条件）的递推关系式;然后给出了利用曲线内能极小优化选取首个控制顶点的算法,证明了利用该算法构造的C¹连续二次均匀B样条插值曲线为保形插值,并通过数值算例证明了算法的有效性;最后,为便于实际应用,基于MATLAB平台设计了算法所对应的图形用户界面,用户通过简单的操作即可获得光顺的C¹连续二次均匀B样条保形插值曲线。     

THE CONSTRUCTION OF WAVELET-BASED TRUNCATED CONICAL SHELL ELEMENT USING B-SPLINE WAVELET ON THE INTERVAL

Based on B-spline wavelet on the interval (BSWI), two classes of truncated conicalshell elements were constructed to solve axisymmetric problems, i.e. BSWI thin truncated conicalshell element and BSWI moderately thick truncated conical shell element with independent slope-deformation interpolation. In the construction of wavelet-based element, instead of traditionalpolynomial interpolation, the scaling functions of BSWI were employed to form the shape functionsthrough the constructed elemental transformation matrix,and then construct BSWI element viathe variational principle. Unlike the process of direct wavelets adding in the wavelet Galerkinmethod, the elemental displacement field represented by the coefficients of wavelets expansionwas transformed into edges and internal modes via the constructed transformation matrix. BSWIelement combines the accuracy of B-spline function approximation and various wavelet-basedelements for structural analysis. Some static and dynamic numerical examples of conical shellswere studied to demonstrate the present element with higher efficiency and precision than thetraditional element.     

具有重结点的B-样条曲面G1的连续条件

本文得到了关于两个双三次内部重结点B-样条曲面片G1连续的充分必要条件和在公共边界线上控制向量的本征条件.这些条件直接由两个B-样条曲面的控制向量表示.文[10]证明了使用内部单结点的双三次B-样条曲面来构造G1光滑曲面,局部格式不存在.使用本文的这些条件就可以构造出具有局部各式的G1光滑造型.     

On Non-Uniform Algebraic-Hyperbolic （NUAH） B-Splines

The recurrence algorithm is given for the calculation of NUAH B-splines in the space Sn 1 = span{sinh t, cosh t,tn-3,...,t2.t, 1} (n≥3). The case of NUAH B-spline bases of low order with multiple knot sequences is studied. The limiting cases of UAH B-splines are recovered when shape parameters a's→0 and ∞. Then the corresponding NUAH B-spline curve is defined and its main properties such as shape-preserving properties are investigated.
