Superdegenerate point in FCC phase diagram: CVM and Monte Carlo investigations

We investigate the topology of the phase diagram of binary alloys on the fee lattice with first-neighbor antiferromagnetic interactions around the superdegenerate point, where the L1₀ and L1₂ phases meet. We treat the system as a hard-constraint lattice gas, following a procedure previously described by Lebowitzet al. We perform cluster variation method calculations in theT0 limit and Monte Carlo simulations directly atT=0 K on the ground states of the superdegenerate point. We find that: (i) there is no disordered phase in the neighborhood of this point; (ii) a phase L for which two of the four cubic sublattices have the same average occupancy and each of the two others are different appears between L1₀ and L1₂; (iii) the transition L/L1₂ is of first order.     

A new quantum statistical evaluation method for time correlation functions

Considering a system ofN identical interacting particles, which obey Fermi-Dirac or Bose-Einstein statistics, we derive new formulas for correlation functions of the type (whereB _j is diagonal in the free-particle states) in the thermodynamic limit. Thereby we apply and extend a superoperator formalism, recently developed for the derivation of long-time tails in semiclassical systems. As an illustrative application, the Boltzmann equation value of the time-integrated correlation functionC(t) is derived in a straightforward manner. Due to exchange effects, the obtained t-matrix and the resulting scattering cross section, which occurs in the Boltzmann collision operator, are now functionals of the Fermi-Dirac or Bose-Einstein distribution.     

氧化物担载铑原子簇催化剂的金属载体相互作用的考察——Ⅱ.金属载体非强相互作用

本文用XPS从Rh_4(CO)_(12)在真空条件下的脱羰过程和在氢氧中的还原过程两方面考察了一些非还原性氧化物担载Rh_4(CO)_(12)催化剂的金属载体相互作用,并把这种相互作用称为金属载体非强相互作用(non-strong metal-support interaction,缩写NSMSI).结果表明,铑与一些载体的非强相互作用的顺序是MgO>ZrO_2>γ-Al_2O_3>SiO_2-Al_2O_3≈SiO_2;Rh与载体的非强相互作用形成Rh—O键,使Rh的还原性减弱;形成M—O键是产生NSMSI效应的重要特征;这种相互作用能增加铑羰基物的稳定性,使其在真空中脱羰速率减慢.铑与非还原性氧化物载体间的非强相互作用可用酸-碱机制解释.

THE RING OPENING REACTION OF AN EPOXY COMPOUND ON THE TOP OF CHEMISORBED CYSTAMINE STUDIED BY THE SERS TECHNIQUE

Metal foils for Raman scattering were prepared by HNO_3 etching method. These foils werefound to exhibit a strong SERS effect and excellent thermal stability. SERS spectra of cystaminehave been taken to illustrate the usefulness of this sample preparation method in the studies ofchemisorption. The ring opening reactions of an epoxy compound have been observed on the topof chemisorbed cystamine on silver foils.

Hybrid inorganic-organic 1-D and 2-D frameworks with {As8V14O42} clusters as building blocks

Three novel hetero-polyoxovanadates, [Cd(2,2′-bpy)₃]{[Cd(dien)]As₈V₁₄O₄₂(H₂O)} (1, 2,2′-bpy=2,2′-bipyridine, and dien=diethylenetriamine), [Zn(2,2′-bpy)₂]₂[As₈V₁₄O₄₂(H₂O)]·H₂O (2) and [Ni(en)₂]₃[As₈V₁₄O₄₂(HPO₃)]·4H₂O (3, en=ethlenediamine), were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystal data: 1 monoclinic, P2(1)/n, a=15.1728(5), b=19.2863(5), , β=96.005(2)°, Z=4. 2, orthorhombic, P2(1)2(1)2(1), a=12.1270(3), b=15.8678(8), , Z=4. 3, triclinic, , a=12.9340(3), b=13.4130(3), , α=87.170(3)°, β=77.517(3)°, γ=68.480(3)°, Z=2. Compounds 1-3 are all made of the {As₈V₁₄O₄₂} shells linked by corresponding transition metal complexes into extended structures. Compound 1 and 2 present 1-D wave-like and tubular structures, respectively, while compound 3 exhibits a novel 2-D structure containing interwinding puckery layers. Variable temperature susceptibility measurements demonstrate the presence of antiferromagnetic interaction between V^IV cations in 1 and 2.

AB5型球形合金粉的表面处理研究

由雾化（Gas－atomization）技术制备的AB5型球形合金粉，作为镍氢电池负极材料具有很多优点：粉粒呈球状便于在多孔基片内装填；耐压耐磨性好；抗碱能力强且不易解胶．但它的电化学初活性差，难于活化．有碍电池中的应用．采用适宜的氧化剂（铜盐水溶液）处理，使球粒表面形成一个富铜、富镍亚层，显著地改善了合金粉的电化学活性．经处理的MlNi3.8CO0.5Mn0.3Al0.4球形合金粉，仅3次充放电循环其放电量便可达到240mA·h·g-1；而未经处理的同一合金粉即便经6次充放电循环其放电量也只有103mA·h·g-1．
