Experimental Verification of Left-Handed Metamaterials Composed of Coplanar Electric and Magnetic Resonators 下载免费PDF全文
We verified experimentally left-handed metamaterials (LHM) composed of coplanar electric and magnetic resonators. A typical LHM sample composed of coplanar resonator unit cells was fabricated, investigated and tested. The experimental results show that the tested sample has a left-handed band of width 1.4 GHz in the X band. The experimental results agree quite well with the simulation ones. Moreover, both the simulation and experimental results show that the LHM under study can automatically achieve good impedance-matching in the left-handed band. 相似文献

Crosslinked poly(4‐vinylbenzyl chloride) (PVBC) nanospheres of about 160 nm were first synthesized by emulsion copolymerization of 4‐vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) in the presence of a crosslinking agent, p‐divinylbenzene. Subsequent modification of the nanosphere surfaces via surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization of 4‐vinylpyridine, using the VBC units of PVBC on the nanosphere surface as the macroinitiators, produced a well‐defined and covalently tethered poly(4‐vinylpyridine) (P4VP) shells of 24–27 nm in thickness. Activation of the P4VP shells in a PdCl2 solution, followed by reactions with CO or H2S gas, gave rise to the corresponding P4VP composite shells containing densely dispersed palladium metal or palladium sulfide nanoparticles. The chemical composition of the nanosphere surfaces at various stages of surface modification was characterized by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Field emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were used to characterize the morphology of the organic/inorganic hybrid nanospheres coated with palladium/P4VP shells. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Self‐excited oscillation can be induced due to the interaction between condensation process and local transonic condition in condensing flow, which is an important problem in wet steam turbine. With an Eulerian/Eulerian numerical model, the self‐excited oscillation of wet steam flow is investigated in a supersonic turbine cascade. Owing to supercritical heat addition to the subsonic flow in the convergent part of the cascade, the oscillation frequency decreases with increased inlet supercooling. Mass flow rate increases in the oscillating flow due to the greater supersaturation in condensation process, while the increase will be suppressed with the flow oscillation. Higher inlet supercooling leads to the fact that the condensation process moves upstream and the loss increases. Moreover, some predictions of oscillation effects on outflow angle and aerodynamic force are also presented. Finally, heterogeneous condensations with inlet wetness and periodic inlet conditions, as a result of the interference between stator and rotor, are discussed. A commercially available tris(3,6‐dioxaheptyl)amine (TDA‐1) was used as a novel ligand for activator generated by electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerization (AGET ATRP) of styrene in bulk or solution mediated by iron(III) catalyst in the presence of a limited amount of air. FeCl3 · 6H2O and (1‐bromoethyl)benzene (PEBr) were used as the catalyst and initiator, respectively; and environmentally benign ascorbic acid (VC) was used as the reducing agent. The polymerizations show the features of “living”/controlled free‐radical polymerizations and well‐defined polystyrenes with molecular weight Mn = 2400–36,500 g/mol and narrow polydispersity (Mw/Mn = 1.11–1.29) were obtained. Generalized functional separation of variables to nonlinear evolution equations is studied in terms of the extended group foliation method, which is based on the Lie point symmetry method. The approach is applied to nonlinear wave equations with variable speed and external force. A complete classification for the wave equation which admits functional separable solutions is presented.
