红外光谱以高选择性、无破坏性以及高超的分辨和实时跟踪能力成为从分子水平研究液晶聚合物的的重要分析手段,而偏振二向色技术、时间分辨步扫描技术和二维相关分析技术的发展进一步提高了红外光谱分析复杂液晶聚合物的能力。本文介绍了传统傅里叶变换红外光谱及各种新型光谱分析技术(主要是二维相关技术)对液晶聚合物材料表征的研究进展,特别是对于液晶聚合物分子氢键、共聚和共混物相容性以及外场(温度、电场、光场、应力场)作用下液晶分子取向等的研究,并分别进行了具体的应用实例分析。  相似文献

利用紫外-可见光谱,对比研究了尾挂侧链液晶聚合物和腰挂侧链液晶聚合物在结晶相和液晶相转变过程中的液晶基元取向情况.研究表明,石英基材表面倾向于诱导偶氮液晶基元垂直于基材排列;观察到了在液晶态尾挂侧链液晶聚合物和腰挂侧链液晶聚合物的不同取向行为.在室温下重新结晶数天后,腰挂液晶聚合物的紫外可见光谱缓慢回复.  相似文献

制备了系列含氟光敏单体材料, 六氟双酚A双肉桂酸酯(6F-BADE)与含二氟亚甲基结构的肉桂酸酯(FDE-n, n=2, 3, 4). 材料在线性偏振紫外光辐照下均可发生定向光交联反应, 通过红外光谱和凝胶渗透色谱跟踪检测, 表明光交联类型为[2+2]环加成. 单体光聚后形成的取向膜对液晶分子排列效果不同, 6F-BADE取向膜诱导液晶分子垂直排列, FDE-n取向膜诱导液晶分子平行排列. 用原子力显微镜对取向膜表面进行表征, 均未观察到明显的各向异性分布现象. 应用量子力学半经验方法AM1分析发现单体分子极性有较大差异, 认为分子极性的差异是诱导液晶取向不同的主要原因.  相似文献

合成了一种含有长柔性间隔基和氰基三联苯液晶基元的发光性聚噻吩衍生物{—[thiopheneyl—CH2—COO—(CH2)6—O—terphenyl—CN]n—, PT(6)TPhCN}. 利用傅里叶变换红外(FT-IR)光谱、核磁共振(1HNMR)、差示扫描量热(DSC)仪、偏光显微镜(POM)、紫外-可见(UV-Vis)吸收光谱和荧光(PL)光谱对单体和聚合物的结构及性质进行了表征. 单体都呈现出良好的液晶性能, 由于长间隔基的存在, 聚合物PT(6)TPhCN也呈现出良好SmAd相. 氰基三联苯的存在还赋予了聚合物良好的光致发光性能, 同时, 长间隔基也有效地降低了分子间的相互作用, 进一步增强了聚合物的发光性能. 另外, 研究发现, 在未引入任何手性元素的情况下, 聚合物主链在圆二色(CD)光谱中还呈现出明显的Cotton 效应, 这可能是由于大体积液晶基元的位阻效应和取向作用, 液晶基元环绕主链进行取向的同时诱导聚噻吩主链在长程范围内呈螺旋取向.  相似文献

利用元胞动力学方法在二维情况下对浓度、取向序参量的含时Ginzberg-Landau方程进行数值求解,研究了液晶聚合物/柔性链聚合物共混体系的相分离动力学,考察了浓度、取向有序过程的耦合对相分离形态的影响.结果表明,此耦合作用对相分离的时间进程以及相分离图样的空间排布都有影响.液晶聚合物的取向有序相当于增加了两组分间的不相容性而促进两相分离;两个序参量在热力学方面的耦合使液晶聚合物趋向于沿着界面方向取向,而动力学方面的耦合使液晶聚合物分子沿着其取向方向扩散,相分离图样的空间排布由这两种效应共同决定通过极化率张量的定义用数值方法模拟得到了相分离体系的小角光散射图样,结果表明,散射强度分布具有方位角依赖性,它是由浓度、取向序参量的空间变化共同决定的.  相似文献

When investigated by optical microscopy between crossed polarizers, the isotropic to cholesteric transition may appear like fingerprint-patterned droplets embedded in a black isotropic matrix. In the present work, such PDLC-like (polymer dispersed liquid crystal) patterns, only occurring over 0.7 C, have been entrapped and stored at ambient temperature in a polymer film. We used a UV polymerization process with different sequences in which illumination time and UV power progressively vary. From a conceptual viewpoint, these PDLC-like patterns come solely from liquid crystalline material, whereas all the conventional PDLCs are binary mixtures of a macromolecular compound or 'prepolymer' with a conventional low molecular mass liquid crystal. The fact that isotropic matrix and cholesteric droplets differ only from the viewpoint of molecular order and not in their chemical nature, permits comparisons with the usual case for which the choice of polymer-forming material is crucial and the polymer/liquid crystal interface is an important factor for controlling PDLC electro-optic properties. The present system gives an opportunity to investigate by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) the droplet microstructure (isotropic-cholesteric interface, fingerprint patterns or defects), whereas previous SEM studies were focused on the shape and size of empty cavities, since the fluid liquid crystal was inevitably removed from the PDLC system.  相似文献

The induction of liquid crystal orientation through mechanical stretching was investigated for polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLCs) by means of infrared dichroism. Using a nematic liquid crystal BL006 and polyacrylic acid as the polymer matrix, it was possible to stretch the PDLC films with BL006 in either the isotropic or the nematic phase. After cooling the films under strain to room temperature, the molecular orientation of BL006 was found to be much higher for films that contained isotropic liquid droplets of BL006 at the time of stretching than for films that had nematic droplets. Stretching PDLC films with isotropic droplets results in no molecular orientation, but the orientation is induced during the subsequent cooling when BL006 goes through the isotropic-to-nematic phase transition. Interestingly for PAA/BL006, the nematic director orients along the long axes of the elongated droplets despite liquid crystal anchoring perpendicular to the polymer interface.  相似文献

In this device, the surface stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal and the soft mode ferroelectric liquid crystal are used as an active material on the passive polymer waveguide, and electrooptic switching is realized by controlling the total reflection at the polymer waveguide-liquid crystal interface. The response time is of the order of several microseconds. The analogue electrooptic modulation in the waveguide is realized using the field induced linear molecular tilt of the electroclinic effect in the soft mode ferroelectric liquid crystal.  相似文献

以对苯二胺、3-氯丙醇和4-羟基苯甲醛为原料,合成对苯二(对苯丙氧基醇)亚胺液晶基元,再与对苯二异氰酸酯和1,3-双(3-氨基丙基)四甲基二硅氧烷反应,合成席夫碱型硅氧烷聚氨酯液晶聚合物。 通过红外光谱法、X射线衍射、热分析、偏光显微镜等技术手段对其结构和性能进行了表征。 结果表明,该物质为席夫碱有机硅聚氨酯液晶聚合物,属于近晶相液晶,液晶区间为103~150 ℃,热分解温度为300 ℃。 用席夫碱型硅氧烷聚氨酯液晶固定相制备填充色谱柱,考察固定液的相对极性及其对取代苯位置异构体的色谱分离性能。 合成的席夫碱型硅氧烷聚氨酯液晶聚合物的液晶温度范围为103~146 ℃,属于强极性固定液(Px=79),各组分色谱峰的分离度为0.96~3.33。  相似文献

The alignment of nematic liquid crystals by rubbed polyimide surfaces has been well-studied and developed. A novel polyimide film which induced a homeotropic alignment of the nematic liquid crystal without rubbing or with weak rubbing strength was presented. However, there was a transition from homeotropic to planar alignment of the nematic liquid crystal after strong rubbing. In order to study the transition, the polyimide surface was investigated by atomic force microscopy, surface free energy measurement and angle-resolved analysis X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy before and after rubbing with a velvet fabric. It was found that both the change of surface polarity and surface morphology were not the reasons for the transition. The droop of the side chain on the polyimide surface after the rubbing treatment was detected by angle-resolved analysis X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy. Owing to the special structure of the novel polyimide, the X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy was successfully used for the first time to analyse the conformational change of the side chain of a polymer. In conclusion, the transition of nematic liquid crystal alignment from homeotropic to planar after rubbing was influenced by the side chain conformation of the polyimide.  相似文献

Morphological, electro-optical and switching properties of polyester resin/nematic liquid crystal composite films have been studied for varying composition (10-40 wt% of LC), temperature (20-50 C), film thickness (10-75 mum) and UV curing time of the matrix (0.25-12 min). The PDLC films were formed by LC separation in a UV polymerization process of the thin layer of oligoester resin (liquid crystal mixture) between ITO coated glass plates. The electro-optical and response behaviour based on the electric field controlled light scattering of the composite films was observed. The results were interpreted in terms of effective anchoring strength at the interface of the polymer and liquid crystal depending either on the area fraction of the interface in the composite film (dependent on the size and shape of the liquid crystal droplets) or the stiffness and resistivity of the polyester resin changing in the course of the crosslinking polymerization.  相似文献
