The alkaloid composition of young shoots and leaves ofBerberis heteropoda Schrenk has been studied. In addition to known alkaloids, two new ones have been isolated — N-methyldihydroberberine and 8-oxoberberrubine, the structures of which were established by chemical transformations and a study of spectral properties. Of known alkaloids, berbamunine, aromoline, glaucine, thalicmidine, isocorydine, and reticuline have been found in this plant for the first time. Pseudopalmitine and laudanosine have been found for the first time in plants of the genusBerberis.Andizhan State Medical Institute. For the first time, using a MS 25RF chromato-mass spectrometer with a Carlo Erba 5160 chromatograph and a packed column, the possibility of the partial separation of the mixture of diterpene alkaloids of various types from the roots ofAconitum septentrionale has been shown. From their chromatographic parameters and mass-spectral characteristics 18 bases have been detected, including a new one with M+ 407 which was probably deoxydelcorine, while 6-O-methyldelcorine and 6-O-methyleldelidine have been found in plants for the first time.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Uzbek SSR Academy of Sciences, Tashkent. Papaver fugax growing on the shore of Lake Kazenoi Am in the Checheno-Ingushskii ASSR at the boundary with the Dagestan ASSR has yielded 0.39% of alkaloids. Seven alkaloids have been isolated, of which cheilanthifoline, scoulerine, and reticuline have been detected in this species for the first time, while it is the first time that d-remeroline has been found in a plant of thePapaver genus.Pyatigorsk Pharmaceutical Institute. The lipids of the fruit ofRumex paulsenianus have been investigated. The lipid content of the seeds was 7.8% and of the perianths 0.58%. Of the 18 classes of lipids detected, 16, including anthraquinone pigments, were identified by CC and TLC and by UV and IR spectroscopies and mass spectrometry. The known alkaloids isotalatisidine, nevadensine, delcosine, delsoline, and isobaldine have been isolated form the epigeal part ofDelphinium confusum M. Pop., collected in the flowering period, and also a new alkaloid with the composition C24H39NO5, mp 136–137°C (acetone), for which the structure of 14-methylisotalatisidine has been established on the basis of spectral characteristics and of passages from condelphine and isotalatisidine. Summary The oil of the seeds ofRindera oblongifolia, family Boraginaceae, growing in Central Asia, has been studied for the first time. Among the acids of the triglycerides of the oil five types of monoenoic acid differing by the length of the carbon chain but having the same length of the terminal carbon chain — 18:19, 20:111, 22:113, 24:115, and 26:117 — have been detected for the first time. The alkaloid complex ofMerendera robusta Bge. (familyLiliaceae) growing in the Tashkent province of the Uzbek SSR has been investigated. In the lipids of the seeds and pericarp of the introduced speciesAcanthopanax sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem (familyAraliaceae), 23 classes of compounds have been detected, of which 19 have been identified. Sixteen of the classes have been studied. The lipids of the pericarp contain a more complex set of components than the seeds. Hydroxyacyldiacylglycerides, fatty acid methyl esters, and a complex group of pthalicacidesters have been detected in the familyAraliaceae for the first time. Summary Six bases have been isolated from the leaves of the plantZiziphus jujuba Mill. family Rhamnaceae, cultivated in Tashkent: coclaurine, which has been isolated previously, and isoboldine, norisoboldine, asimilobine, which have been isolated for the first time, and the new juziphine and juzirine.
