The alkaloid composition of young shoots and leaves ofBerberis heteropoda Schrenk has been studied. In addition to known alkaloids, two new ones have been isolated — N-methyldihydroberberine and 8-oxoberberrubine, the structures of which were established by chemical transformations and a study of spectral properties. Of known alkaloids, berbamunine, aromoline, glaucine, thalicmidine, isocorydine, and reticuline have been found in this plant for the first time. Pseudopalmitine and laudanosine have been found for the first time in plants of the genusBerberis.Andizhan State Medical Institute. Summary By separating the total alkaloids ofV.erecta according to their basicities in an APS, in addition to bases known previously we have isolated ervincidine, apovincamine, (+)-quebrachamine, dl-eburnamine, (–)-1,2-dehydroaspidospermidine, and kopsanone. This is the first time that these alkaloids have been obtained from this plant. Thin-layer chromatography showed the presence of another 10–12 uncharacterized alkaloids. The region of the passage into the buffer solutions of some alkaloids has also been established.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR. From the epigeal parts of two species ofOxytropis growing in Mongolia we have isolated the new alkaloids (+)-N-benzoyl-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine and (–)-N-nicotinoyl-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine, and also N-benzoyl-2-phenylethylamine, this being the first time this substance has been found in nature. The structures of the alkaloids were established on the basis of a comparative analysis of their spectral characteristics. The dynamics of the accumulation of alkaloids in the epigeal part ofAconitum karakolicum according to vegetation periods has been studied. It has been established that the highest content of alkaloids is found in the early period. On separating the combined alkaloids, the aporphine alkaloid isoboldine has been isolated from this plant for the first time and a new base has been obtained — napelline N-oxide, the structure of which has been shown on the basis of the results of a study of spectral characteristics and direct transition to napelline.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent. It has been established by the x-ray structural method that a new alkaloid isolated from the epigeal part ofAconitum coreanum has the structure of 13-acetyl-14-hydroxy-2-isobutyrylhetisine N-oxide. This is the first time that a N-oxide has been isolated among the hetisine alkaloids.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Uzbek SSR Academy of Sciences, Tashkent. For the first time, using a MS 25RF chromato-mass spectrometer with a Carlo Erba 5160 chromatograph and a packed column, the possibility of the partial separation of the mixture of diterpene alkaloids of various types from the roots ofAconitum septentrionale has been shown. From their chromatographic parameters and mass-spectral characteristics 18 bases have been detected, including a new one with M+ 407 which was probably deoxydelcorine, while 6-O-methyldelcorine and 6-O-methyleldelidine have been found in plants for the first time.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Uzbek SSR Academy of Sciences, Tashkent. The alkaloid composition of the seeds and roots of the plantHaplophyllum perforatum growing in Tadzhikistan (Karateg range) has been studied for the first time. In addition to the known furoquinoline alkaloids, the new alkaloid haplosine has been isolated and it has been shown to be identical with the product of the hydrogenolysis of haplopine. Among natural compounds, this is the first representative of derivatives of the 3-ethyl-4-methoxy-quinolin-2-one series.Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances, Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, Tashkent. The process of extracting the total alkaloids fromAconitum orientale with aqueous solutions of a number of electrolytes has been investigated. It has been established that it is most desirable to use 2% solutions of H2SO4 and 5% solutions of CH3COOH. The optimum parameters of the process have been found, under which the degree of extraction of the total alkaloids averages 96%.I. G.
