EFFECTS OF CONSTANT EXCITATION ON LOCAL BIFURCATION   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The effects of the constant excitation on the local bifurcation of the periodic solutions in the 1:2 internal resonant systems were analyzed based on the singularity theory. It is shown that the constant excitation make influence only when there exist some nonlinear terms, in the oscillator with lower frequency. Besides acting as main bifurcation parameter, the constant excitation, together with coefficients of some nonlinear terms, may change the values of unfolding parameters and the type of the bifurcation. Under the non-degenerate cases, the effect of the third order terms can be neglected.  相似文献

The behavior of single-degree-of-freedom systems possessing quadratic and cubic nonlinearities subject to parametric excitation is investigated. Both fundamental and principal parametric resonances are considered. A global bifurcation diagram in the excitation amplitude and excitation frequency domain is presented showing different possible stable steady-state solutions (attractors). Fractal basin maps for fundamental and principal parametric resonances when three attractors coexist are presented in color. An enlargement of one region of the map for principal parametric resonance reveals a Cantor-like set of fractal boundaries. For some cases, both periodic and chaotic attractors coexist.  相似文献

The nonlinear dynamical behavior of a single-mode model of noncontact AFM is analyzed in terms of attractors robustness and basins integrity. The model considered for the analyses, proposed in (Hornstein and Gottlieb in Nonlinear Dyn. 54:93–122, 2008), consistently includes the nonlinear atomic interaction and is studied under scan excitation (which appears as parametric excitation) and vertical excitation (which is prevalently external). Local bifurcation analyses are carried out to identify the overall stability boundary in the excitation parameter space as the envelope of system local escapes, to be compared with the one obtained via numerical simulations. The dynamical integrity of periodic bounded solutions is studied, and basin erosion is evaluated by means of two different integrity measures. The obtained erosion profiles allow us to dwell on the possible lack of homogeneous safety of the stability boundary in terms of robustness of the attractors, and to identify practical escape thresholds ensuring an a priori design safety target.  相似文献

We consider parametrically excited vibrations of shallow cylindrical panels. The governing system of two coupled nonlinear partial differential equations is discretized by using the Bubnov–Galerkin method. The computations are simplified significantly by the application of computer algebra, and as a result low dimensional models of shell vibrations are readily obtained. After applying numerical continuation techniques and ideas from dynamical systems theory, complete bifurcation diagrams are constructed. Our principal aim is to investigate the interaction between different modes of shell vibrations under parametric excitation. Results for system models with four of the lowest modes are reported. We essentially investigate periodic solutions, their stability and bifurcations within the range of excitation frequency that corresponds to the parametric resonances at the lowest mode of vibration.  相似文献

The bifurcations and chaotic dynamics of parametrically and externally excited suspended cables are investigated in this paper. The equations of motion governing such systems contain quadratic and cubic nonlinearities, which may result in two-to-one and one-to-one internal resonances. The Galerkin procedure is introduced to simplify the governing equations of motion to ordinary differential equations with two-degree-of-freedom. The case of one-to-one internal resonance between the modes of suspended cables, primary resonant excitation, and principal parametric excitation of suspended cables is considered. Using the method of multiple scales, a parametrically and externally excited system is transformed to the averaged equations. A pseudo arclength scheme is used to trace the branches of the equilibrium solutions and an investigation of the eigenvalues of the Jacobian matrix is used to assess their stability. The equilibrium solutions experience pitchfork, saddle-node, and Hopf bifurcations. A detailed bifurcation analysis of the dynamic (periodic and chaotic) solutions of the averaged equations is presented. Five branches of dynamic solutions are found. Three of these branches that emerge from two Hopf bifurcations and the other two are isolated. The two Hopf bifurcation points, one is supercritical Hopf bifurcation point and another is primary Hopf bifurcation point. The limit cycles undergo symmetry-breaking, cyclic-fold, and period-doubling bifurcations, whereas the chaotic attractors undergo attractor-merging, boundary crises. Simultaneous occurrence of the limit cycle and chaotic attractors, homoclinic orbits, homoclinic explosions and hyperchaos are also observed.  相似文献

本文将太阳引力摄动视为受摄不规则小行星系统的组成部分,借鉴非线性振动理论中参数激励共振的概念,创新性地设计了不规则小行星平衡点附近稳定的悬停观测轨道.为了同时考虑不规则小行星引力和太阳引力, 本文采用受摄粒杆模型描述系统.通过对未扰系统平衡点以及固有频率的分析, 给出系统存在参激共振轨道的条件.再以第二类参激主共振和1:3内共振为例,采用多尺度方法求得参数激励共振轨道的稳态解, 并对稳态解的稳定性进行判断.通过受摄小行星系统的幅频响应曲线以及力频响应曲线分析了系统的非线性特性以及参数激励效应.此外, 对内共振引起的长短周期能量转移现象进行了分析.本文的研究成果可以拓展现有小行星系统周期轨道族设计方法.  相似文献

A new perturbation method for a weakly nonlinear two-dimensional discrete-time dynamical system is presented. The proposed technique generalizes the asymptotic perturbation method that is valid for continuous-time systems and detects periodic or almost-periodic orbits and their stability. Two equations for the amplitude and the phase of solutions are derived and their fixed points correspond to limit cycles for the starting nonlinear map. The method is applied to various nonlinear (autonomous or not) two-dimensional maps. For the autonomous maps we derive the conditions for the appearance of a supercritical Hopf bifurcation and predict the characteristics of the corresponding limit cycle. For the nonautonomous maps we show amplitude-response and frequency-response curves. Under appropriate conditions, we demonstrate the occurrence of saddle-node bifurcations of cycles and of jumps and hysteresis effects in the system response (cusp catastrophe). Modulated motion can be observed for very low values of the external excitation and an infinite-period bifurcation occurs if the external excitation increases. Analytic approximate solutions are in good agreement with numerically obtained solutions.  相似文献

由多时间尺度耦合效应引起的簇发振荡行为是非线性动力学研究的重要课题之一.本文针对一类参数激励下的三维非线性电机系统(该系统可以描述两种自激同极发电机系统的动力学行为,两种系统在数学上等效),研究了当参数激励频率远小于系统自然频率时的各种复杂簇发振荡行为及其产生机理.通过快慢分析方法, 将参数激励作为慢变参数,得到了非自治系统对应的广义自治系统及快子系统和慢变量,并给出了快子系统的稳定性和分岔条件以及系统关于典型参数的单参数分岔图.借助转换相图与分岔图的叠加, 分析了对称式delayed subHopf/fold cycle簇发振荡的产生机理及其动力学转迁, 即delayed subHopf/fold cycle簇发振荡、焦点/焦点型对称式叉形分岔滞后簇发振荡和焦点/焦点型叉形分岔滞后簇发振荡.研究结果表明, 系统会出现两种不同的分岔滞后形式, 一种是亚临界Hopf分岔滞后,另一种是叉形分岔滞后,而且控制参数显著影响平衡点的稳定性和分岔滞后区间的宽度.同时初始点的选取则会影响系统动力学行为的对称性.本文的研究进一步加深了对由分岔滞后引起的簇发振荡的认识和理解.  相似文献

In this study dynamically equivalent time-invariant forms are obtained for linear and non-linear systems with periodically varying coefficients via Lyapunov–Floquet (L–F) transformation. These forms are equivalent in the sense that the local stability and bifurcation characteristics are identical for both systems in the entire parameter space. It is well known that the L–F transformation converts a linear periodic first order system into a time-invariant one. In the first part of this study a set of linear second order periodic equations is converted into an equivalent set of time-independent second order equations through a sequence of linear transformations. Then the transformations are applied to a time-periodic quadratic Hamiltonian to obtain its equivalent time-invariant form. In the second part, time-invariant forms of nonlinear equations are studied. The application of L–F transformation to a quasi-linear periodic equation converts the linear part to a time-invariant form and leaves the non-linear part with time-periodic coefficients. Dynamically equivalent time-invariant forms are obtained via time-periodic center manifold reduction and time-dependent normal form theory. Such forms are constructed for general hyperbolic systems and for some simple critical cases, including that of one zero eigenvalue and a purely imaginary pair. As a physical example of these techniques, a single and a double inverted pendulum subjected to periodic parametric excitation are considered. The results thus obtained are verified by numerical simulation.  相似文献

The nonlinear response of a two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear oscillating system to parametric excitation is examined for the case of 1∶2 internal resonance and, principal parametric resonance with respect to the lower mode. The method of multiple scales is used to derive four first-order autonomous ordinary differential equations for the modulation of the amplitudes and phases. The steadystate solutions of the modulated equations and their stability are investigated. The trivial solutions lose their stability through pitchfork bifurcation giving rise to coupled mode solutions. The Melnikov method is used to study the global bifurcation behavior, the critical parameter is determined at which the dynamical system possesses a Smale horseshoe type of chaos. This paper investigates the steady-state periodic response and the chaos and bifurcation of an axially accelerating viscoelastic Timoshenko beam. For the first time, the nonlinear dynamic behaviors in the transverse parametric vibration of an axially moving Timoshenko beam are studied. The axial speed of the system is assumed as a harmonic variation over a constant mean speed. The transverse motion of the beam is governed by nonlinear integro-partial-differential equations, including the finite axial support rigidity and the longitudinally varying tension due to the axial acceleration. The Galerkin truncation is applied to discretize the governing equations into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Based on the solutions obtained by the fourth-order Runge–Kutta algorithm, the stable steady-state periodic response is examined. Besides, the bifurcation diagrams of different bifurcation parameters are presented in the subcritical and supercritical regime. Furthermore, the nonlinear dynamical behaviors are identified in the forms of time histories, phase portraits, Poincaré maps, amplitude spectra, and sensitivity to initial conditions. Moreover, numerical examples reveal the effects of various terms Galerkin truncation on the amplitude–frequency responses, as well as bifurcation diagrams.  相似文献

This paper deals with the dynamic response of nonlinear elastic structure subjected to random hydrodynamic forces and parametric excitation using a first- and second-order stochastic averaging method. The governing equation of motion is derived by using Hamilton's principle, taking into account inertia and curvature nonlinearities and work done due to hydrodynamic forces. Within the framework of first-order stochastic averaging, the system response statistics and stability boundaries are obtained. Unfortunately, the effects of nonlinear inertia and curvature are not reflected in the final results, since the contribution of these nonlinearities is lost during the averaging process. In the absence of hydrodynamic forces, the method fails to give bounded response statistics, and the analysis yields stability conditions. It is the second-order stochastic averaging which can capture the influence of stiffness and inertia nonlinearities that were lost in the first-order averaging process. The results of the second-order averaging are compared with those predicted by Gaussian and non-Gaussian closures and by Monte Carlo simulation. In the absence of parametric excitation, the non-Gaussian closure solutions are in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulation. On the other hand, in the absence of hydrodynamic forces, second-order averaging gives more reliable results in the neighborhood of stochastic bifurcation. However, under pure parametric random excitation, the stochastic averaging and Monte Carlo simulation predict the on-off intermittency phenomenon near bifurcation point, in addition to stochastic bifurcation in probability.  相似文献
