Experimental investigation is conducted to get insight into convective heat transfer features of the aqueous magnetic fluid flow over a fine wire under the influence of an external magnetic field. The convective heat transfer coefficient of the aqueous magnetic fluid flow around the heated wire is measured in both the uniform magnetic field and the magnetic field gradient. The effects of the external magnetic field strength and its orientation on the thermal behaviors of the magnetic fluids are analyzed. The experimental results show that the external magnetic field is a vital factor that affects the convective heat transfer performances of the magnetic fluids and the control of heat transfer processes of a magnetic fluid flow can be possible by applying an external magnetic field.  相似文献

A study is made of the magnetohydrostatic behaviour of a plasma column in a decreasing external axial magnetic field by exploiting its analogy with the behaviour of a vortex tube embedded in a decelerating irrotational flow. The theory that considers only the initial and the final static states, ignoring the dynamics of the transition, predicts that the increased expansion of the plasma column in a decreasing external axial magnetic field becomes catastrophic and the column would burst at a critical value of the latter.  相似文献

A physically consistent approach is considered for defining an external magnetic field as needed in computational fluid dynamics problems involving magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). The approach results in simple analytical formulae that can be used in numerical studies where an inhomogeneous magnetic field influences a liquid metal flow. The resulting magnetic field is divergence and curl-free, and contains two components and parameters to vary. As an illustration, the following examples are considered: peakwise, stepwise, shelfwise inhomogeneous magnetic fields, and the field induced by a solenoid. Finally, the impact of the streamwise magnetic field component is shown qualitatively to be significant for rapidly changing fields.  相似文献

The problems of interface stability in magnetizable and polarizable fluids are considered in the case of the surface tension tensor dependent on the electromagnetic field strength. For describing this dependence the model proposed by A.N. Golubyatnikov (1986) is used. The investigation of the internal interface structure showed that for single-component systems, as a rule, the dependence of the surface tension on the field strength corresponds to surface phase properties paramagnetic in the normal and diamagnetic in the tangential direction. It is shown that within the framework of the model adopted the thermodynamic stability of the surface depends on the thickness of the interphase layer. Necessary stability conditions are obtained for plane interfaces in media with a constant magnetic permeability outside the interphase layer. The problem of stability of the horizontal free surface of an ideal magnetic field in an external magnetic field (similar to the problem of stability of the horizontal interface of two polarizable fluids in an external electric field) is solved for an arbitrary orientation of the external field relative to the interface. The stability loss is now accompanied by qualitative effects absent in the case of the surface tension tensor independent of the electromagnetic field strength.  相似文献

In this study, we aimed at optimizing the parameters which govern the separation efficiency in the magnetic filtration of magnetizable dispersed particles from a water medium. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the influence of the process parameters. Also, the optimal processing conditions were determined in order to reduce the external magnetic field strength, diameter of the filter matrix elements, and filter length to a safe level. A three-level central composite design (CCRD) involving the variables, such as external magnetic field strength (148–282 kA/m), diameter of the filter elements (0.005–0.011 m), and the filter length (0.01–0.10 m) was developed for this purpose. Data obtained from the RSM was subjected to the analysis of variance (ANOVA) using a second-order polynomial equation, which provided the optimized process conditions as 298 kA/m for external magnetic field strength, 0.0015 m for diameter of the filter elements, and 0.095 m for the filter length. The separation efficiency was optimized for magnetic filtration of micron sized particles that can be magnetized in an external magnetic field and the value was found to be 97%.  相似文献

给出了磁致伸缩材料的两个非线性本构关系,即标准平方型和双曲正切型。在确定一维问题的本构系数时,基于已有的实验结果,引进一个材料函数,用来描述磁致伸缩材料的压磁系数随预应力变化的关系。将非 线性本构关系的理论模型计算结果与实验曲线对比,结果表明标准平方型本构关系在中低磁场下能精确地模拟实验曲线,而双曲正切型本构关系在高磁场时能反映材料的磁致应变饱和现象。讨论了在标准平方型本构的一般三维情形,给出了确定本构系数的方法。  相似文献

A stress–strain problem is solved for an infinite isotropic magnetically soft body containing an elliptic inclusion. It is assumed that the body is in an external magnetic field. The basic characteristics of the stress–strain state and the induced magnetic field are determined and their features at the inclusion are analyzed. Graphs are drawn for the total magnetoelastic and Maxwell stresses versus the ratio of the ellipse axes and the angle of dip, and tabular maximum stresses versus the magnetic induction and the magnetic properties of the material.  相似文献

An experimental study of the influence of external magnetic field on the fluidization behavior of magnetic pearls was carried out. Magnetic pearls are a magnetic form of iron oxide that mainly consists of Fe2O3 which are recovered from a high-volume power plant fly ash from pulverized coal combustion. Due to its abundance, low price and particular physical and chemical properties, magnetic pearls can be used as a heavy medium for minerals or solid waste dry separation based on density difference. This paper introduces the properties of magnetic pearls and compares the performance of magnetic pearls fluidised bed operation with or without an external magnetic field. Experimental results show that an external magnetic field significantly improves the fluidization performance of magnetic pearls such as uniformity and stability.  相似文献

The basic field equations and boundary conditions necessary for the dynamic approach of electromagnetically conducting flat plates subjected to an external magnetic field are derived.Whereas the structural equations include the geometrical non-linearities of elastic isotropic plates, the electromagnetic equations are used in a linearized form that is obtained from their non-linear counterpart by applying the small disturbance concept. In this context, it was shown that the governing equations involve the bending-stretching coupling arising from both the geometrical non-linear approach of the problem and the inclusion of the Lorentz ponderomotive forces that are reduced to a 2-D plate counterpart.A number of special cases are considered, implications of the external magnetic field on non-linear/linear eigenfrequencies are highlighted, and pertinent conclusions are outlined.  相似文献

推导了具有对流效应的化学机械抛光(chemical mechanical polishing,CMP)润滑模型,研究各参数对压力场分布的影响.在此模型基础上,研究了磁流体抛光液在外界磁场作用下的润滑模型,以及外磁场对抛光过程中压力场分布的影响. 数值结果表明,具有对流效应的润滑模型的压力分布与已有经验结果更一致,能更为有效地解释CMP过程中的负压现象; 进一步通过外界磁场的作用, 可以有效地改变磁流体CMP的压力分布,这为实现对晶片的全局抛光提供了一种可供参考的新途径.   相似文献

利用磁弹性耦合问题的线性化理论,采用分离变量方法对带圆孔的无限大板在受拉应力和横向磁场共同作用下的变形扰动磁场进行了求解,得到了变形引致的扰动磁场的解析解,并对其强度量级和分布情况进行了讨论.结果表明,变形扰动磁场场强与外力成正比;与无变形磁场强度相比,变形扰动磁场小3个量级,但波峰波谷数目增加,且在圆孔边界径向扰动磁场强度迅速衰减.  相似文献

A physicomathematical model for plasma heating and confinement is formulated on the basis of some assumptions on the behavior of a dense plasma cloud in a magnetic field. The model allows for the ionization and heating of the plasma cloud by the surrounding deuterium plasma due to heat conduction and heating by a superthermal electron current. The expansion of a plasma cloud in an external magnetic field is studied using some simplifications in a magnetohydrodynamic approximation. Plasma heating is modeled by an external source. The basic equations include continuity, motion, energy, and magneticfield equations. For numerical solution of the problem, we developed a finitedifference scheme of the type of a universal algorithm with splitting into physical processes and spatial directions, which allowed us to obtain separate solutions of the equations of magnetic induction and gas dynamics. Calculations of the propagation of a plasma cloud heated by a source in an external magnetic field were performed. The mechanism of the effect of the magnetic field and heat source on plasma cloud expansion is determined. The results agree qualitatively with experimental data.  相似文献

Biological neurons are capable of encoding a variety of stimuli, and the synaptic plasticity can be enhanced for activating appropriate firing modes in the neural activities. Artificial neural circuits are effective to reproduce the main biophysical properties of neurons when the nonlinear circuits composed of reliable electronic components with distinct physical properties are tamed to generate similar firing patterns as biological neurons. In this paper, a simple neural circuit is proposed to estimate the effect of magnetic field on the neural activities by incorporating two physical electronic components. A magnetic flux-controlled memristor and an ideal Josephson junction in parallel connection are used to percept the induction currents induced by the magnetic field. The circuit equations are obtained according to the Kirchhoff’s theorem and an equivalent neuron model is acquired by applying scale transformation on the physical variables and parameters in the neural circuit. Standard bifurcation analysis is calculated to predict possible mode transition and evolution of firing patterns. The Hamilton energy is also obtained to find its dependence on the mode selection in electronic activities. Furthermore, External magnetic field is applied to estimate the mode transition of neural activities because the phase error and the junction current across the Josephson junction can be adjusted to change the dynamics of the neural circuit. It is found that the biophysical functional neuron can present rapid and sensitive response to external magnetic field. Nonlinear resonance is obtained when stochastic phase error is induced by external time-varying magnetic field. The neural circuit can be suitable for further calculating the collective behaviors of neurons exposed to magnetic field.

Numerical results show that an external magnetic field may influence significantly the flow pattern in the molten semiconductor of Czochralski crystal growth. The melt flow could be pronouncedly damped by a magnetic field with the intensity of several thousands Gauss, while the temperature field is affected only in a less extent by the magnetic field. In this work a simplified analytical model and the results of an experimental investigation of the influence of an external magnetic field on the rheological characteristics of a suspension of iron particles in silicon oil is presented. The particles of iron were approximately of a circular shape, from 3 to 5 μm, with a maximum concentration of 1010 particles/cm3. The viscosity of the carrying fluid varied from 80 to 240 cP.The experimental channel was located in a closed circuit of forced circulation of the ferromagnetic suspension. The entire length of 750 mm was placed in an area of a homogeneous magnetic field, with the velocity vector of the suspension being perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field. The strength of the magnetic field could be changed continually from 0 to 9000 G.The results obtained are shown in the form of parametrical dependencies of the rheological characteristics of the ferromagnetic suspension. With that, the concentration of the solid phase of the suspension is parametrically changed, along with the strength of the external magnetic field and the viscosity of the carrying fluid.In the range of parameters studied, the external magnetic field leads to a Bingham character of behavior of the ferromagnetic suspension.  相似文献
