The nth harmonic emission rate has contributions of the components of the T-matrix element in the direction of the laser-field polarization and in the direction perpendicular to it. Using both components of the T-matrix element we present a theoretical approach for calculation of the ellipticity and the offset angle of high harmonics. The molecular bound state is represented by HOMO or by HOMO-1. We show that high harmonics, generated by molecules oriented by an angle ??L with respect to the major semiaxis of the laserfield polarization ellipse, are elliptically polarized even if the applied field is linearly polarized. Using examples of N2 and O2 molecules we show the existence of extrema and sudden changes of the harmonic ellipticity and the offset angle for particular molecular alignment. The interference between different contributions to the T-matrix element depends on the molecular symmetry. Presenting partial or total parameters of elliptic dichroism in the (??L, n) plane clear interference minima are observed. Therefore, the measurement of the elliptic dichroism may reveal information about the molecular structure and symmetry.  相似文献

Spectral, temporal, and spatial characteristics of harmonics generated at solid surfaces interacting with laser radiation (t=27 ps and I≤1.5×1015 W/cm2) are studied. Spectral broadening and a long-wavelength shift of the second harmonic were observed for laser radiation intensities exceeding 5×1014 W/cm2. Results of the study of the conversion of spectral parameters and polarization features for the generation of second and third harmonics are presented. Conversion efficiencies for the second, third, and fourth harmonic are 2×10?8, 10?10, and 5×10?12, respectively. The results obtained are compared with data of analogous studies utilizing shorter pulses.  相似文献

The polarization properties of the photon echo generated by two linearly polarized pulses of resonant radiation at the (6s6p)3 P 1 ? (6s 2)1 S 0 transition of 174Yb are investigated. A complicated polarization behavior of the photon echo versus an angle between the polarization vectors of the excitation pulses is revealed in a mixture of ytterbium vapor with inert gas. For the angles ranging from 0° to 75°, a conventional echo with its linear polarization coinciding with the second excitation pulse dominates and the echo amplitude decreases with an increasing angle. For the angles ranging from 75° to 89°, the photon echo is elliptically polarized. Finally, for an angle of 90°, the conventional echo disappears and the collision echo becomes linearly polarized along the first excitation pulse.  相似文献

A partial polarization of luminescence in laser phosphate and silicate erbium-doped glasses was found to take place for the fundamental laser transition 4 I 13/24 I 15/2 (λ=1.55 μm) under excitation by linearly polarized laser radiation (532 and 790–990 nm). The shape of the luminescence spectrum depends on the wavelength of the exciting light and on the composition of the glass matrix. The degree of polarization of the luminescence depends on the spectral range of both the excitation and the detection, attaining a maximum of ~1%. The concentration dependence of the degree of polarization is studied.  相似文献

<正>We theoretically investigate the high-order harmonic generation from stretched molecules in a linearly polarized intense field.By adopting an infrared pulse combined with an ultraviolet(UV) attosecond pulse,the ionization process can be controlled effectively.In this excitation scheme,the harmonic spectrum beyond I_p+3.17U_P is significantly enhanced by two orders,where I_p and U_p=e~2E_0~2/(4m_eω~2) are the ionization and ponderomotive potential,then smooth broadband supercontinuum with the bandwidth of about 120 eV is obtained,which leads to an isolated sub-60- as attosecond pulse with a high signal-noise ratio.Moreover,the bandwidth of the supercontinuum is weakly dependent on the location and pulse duration of the UV pulse.  相似文献

通过数值求解含时薛定谔方程,发现在静电场的作用下,对原子高次谐波谱截止区附近的谐波进行叠加可以得到脉冲间隔为一个光周期的阿秒脉冲链. 利用这种性质,用12fs波长为800nm的激光附加强度为激光强度0.25%的静电场脉冲驱动He原子可以得到脉宽为220as的单个脉冲. 当静电场与激光场幅度之比达到0.39时,原子谐波谱的截止区可以被拓宽到Ip+9.1Up,同时,次数高于Ip+0.7Up的谐波的相位几乎是锁定的,因此可以得到谱宽大于40eV且相位锁定的谐波. 对这部分谐波进行叠加就可以得到脉宽小于100as的阿秒脉冲链.  相似文献

Polarization resolved stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) signal is described in the case of isotropic media and linearly polarized incident fields. The model gives simple expressions for the two perpendicularly polarized SRS signals IX and IY, detected along the X and Y directions, respectively, as a function of the incident pump and Stokes polarization angles. We find that Raman depolarization ratio can be simply obtained from the ratio of the SRS intensities detected along the X and Y axis. These theoretical findings are supported by polarization resolved SRS measurements performed on polarized and depolarized bands of cyclohexane. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We present the study of DNA-wrapped single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) embedded in the stretched gelatin film by the polarized resonance Raman spectroscopy and visible-NIR optical absorption. The polarized dependent absorption spectra taken along and normal to the stretching direction demonstrate a comparatively high degree of the alignment of isolated SWNTs in the gelatin matrix. The analysis of Raman spectra of isolated SWNTs in the gelatin stretched films showed that the degree of the alignment of carbon nanotubes along the stretching direction is about 62%. The dependence of the peak position of G+-band in Raman spectra on the polarization angle θ between the polarization of the incident light and the direction of the stretching of films was revealed. This shift is explained by the different polarization dependence of the most intensive A and E1 symmetry modes within the G+-band. The performed studies of embedded DNA-wrapped nanotubes in the gelatin film show the simple method for obtaining the controlled ordered biocompatible nanotubes inside a polymer matrix. It can be used for manufacturing sizable flexible self-transparent films with integrated nanoelectrodes.  相似文献

Free8Li (T 1/2=0.84 sec) atoms were polarized by spin exchange with optically pumped rubidium vapour. The8Li nuclei were produced by the reaction7Li(d, p)8Li in a thin LiF target. They recoiled into helium which was used as a buffer gas for optical pumping as well. Nuclear polarization up to 2% was detected by β-decay asymmetry. Rf transitions between hfs levels of the atomic ground state yielded the hfs separation ΔW=382.543(7) MHz. The nuclear spin assignmentI=2 was confirmed.  相似文献

We report a linearly polarized Tm doped fiber laser. The fiber laser was set up by using a piece of polarization maintaining Tm doped double clad fiber of 5 m length as gain medium and a polarization beam splitter as a polarization selector. The fiber laser was pumped by a fiber pigtailed laser diode working at 790 nm with a maximum output power of 90 W. The linearly polarized Tm laser operated at wavelength around 2030 nm. A maximum output power up to 21.9 W was achieved when the pump power was 63.27 W with a threshold of 11.92 W, a slope efficiency of about 43.7%, and a polarization extinction ratio of 92.7% (11.37 dB). In addition to the blue fluorescence, we also observed the violet fluorescence under high pump power level. The up-conversion fluorescence was considered to be attributed to the 1 G 43 H 6, and 1 D 23 F 4 transitions of Tm ions, respectively.  相似文献

We theoretically studied the spontaneous spin polarization properties of organic molecule rubrene by using density functional theory calculations. Our investigations show that normally nonmagnetic molecule rubrene could be spin polarized by spinless-hole injection. Magnetic moment of the molecule increases linearly with the extra hole charge amount only when the injected hole charges reach a certain value. The spin density resides predominantly on the carbon atoms in the tetracene backbone of rubrene molecule and also the bond lengths change differently due to the injected charge. Spontaneous spin polarization can be explained as the preferably filling of the spin-splitted carbon pz orbitals near the Fermi energy for the injected charge.  相似文献

Two static-electric-field-induced effects on harmonic generation are demonstrated analytically and numerically: elliptic dichroism (in which the harmonic yield is different for right and left elliptically polarized laser fields) and elliptical polarization of harmonics produced by linearly polarized driving laser fields. Both effects stem from interference of real and imaginary parts of the nonlinear atomic susceptibilities. Possibilities for experimentally measuring these effects are discussed.  相似文献

Top quark polarization in e+et - annihilation into tt? is calculated for linearly polarized beams. The Green function formalism is applied to this reaction near threshold. The Lippmann—Schwinger equations for the S-wave and P-wave Green functions are solved numerically for the QCD chromostatic potential given by the two-loop formula for large momentum transfer and Richardson’s ansatz for intermediate and small momenta. S- P— wave interference contributes to all components of the top quark polarization vector. Rescattering of the decay products is considered. The mean values 〈nl〉 of the charged lepton four-momentum projections on appropriately chosen directions n in semileptonic top decays are proposed as experimentally observable quantities sensitive to top quark polarization. The results for 〈nl〉 are obtained including S- P— wave interference and rescattering of the decay products. It is demonstrated that for the longitudinally polarized electron beam a highly polarized sample of top quarks can be produced.  相似文献

Generation of third harmonic of CO2 laser radiation has been obtained in a type-II, ϑ=57° cut 9 mm thick AgGaSe2 crystal for the first time by sum-frequency-mixing of the fundamental with its second harmonic, the latter being obtained using another type-I, ϑ=55° cut 11 mm thick AgGaSe2 crystal. The energy conversion efficiencies obtained for second harmonic and third harmonic generations are 6.3% and 2.4% respectively with the input fundamental pump power density of 5.9 MW/cm2 only. The wavelength of the fundamental CO2 laser radiation used for the generation of harmonics is 10.6 μm, P(20) line. A compact TEA CO2 laser source has been built in the laboratory.  相似文献

This paper presents a sensitive electrochemical method for the determination of cysteamine (CA) using promazine hydrochloride-modified multi-wall carbon nanotubes carbon paste electrode (PrH/MWCNTs CPE). Because of the good electrochemical activity of MWCNTs and the acceptable performance of promazine hydrochloride (PrH) as an electrocatalytic mediator, the modified electrode significantly enhanced the sensitivity for the detection of CA in comparison to the bare carbon paste electrode (CPE). All chemical parameters such as pH of solution, concentration of PrH and kinetic parameters of the system were investigated. Linear sweep voltammetric (LSV) method was used to follow the electrocatalytic effect of CA on the current–potential response of PrH. Under optimum conditions, the obtained net peak current ?I p(I sample???I blank) was linear with CA concentrations in two dynamic ranges of 2.0–346.5 μmol l?1 (?I p?=?(0.0195?±?0.0043)C CA?+?(0.7648?±?0.0397) (r 2?=?0.9948)) and 346.5–1,912.5 μmol l?1 (?I p?=?(0.0100?±?0.0026)C CA?+?(3.8981?±?0.0828) (r 2?=?0.9911)) with a detection limit of 0.8 μmol l?1. Finally, the PrH/MWCNTs CPE was successfully applied for the determination of CA in urine and drug samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The imaginary-time method [6, 7] is used to calculate the multiphoton and tunnel ionization probabilities for atoms in a laser radiation field part of which is converted into the second harmonic. We assume that the first harmonic has a linear or elliptical polarization and the second harmonic is polarized linearly, with its polarization vector making an arbitrary angle with that of the first harmonic. The mean momentum of the photoelectrons knocked out from atoms is shown to depend on the phase shift between the first and second harmonics and their mutual polarization and to be identically equal to zero for a monochromatic field. An important difference between the case of elliptical polarization and the case of linear polarization of both harmonics is the absence of conditions under which the conditions for dominance of one of the two generation mechanisms considered here can be identified during the generation of terahertz radiation from the region of optical breakdown in a gas.  相似文献

The frequency and the amplitude of the driving AC current dependence on the harmonic behavior of the giant magneto-impedance (GMI) voltage of Co-rich amorphous wire have been studied. Single-peak, two-peak and three-peak behavior in the GMI characteristics was studied with the change of amplitude and frequency of the AC current. GMI ratio was calculated from the first harmonic signals which were initially increased and then decreased monotonically with the increase of frequency (f) and the amplitude (IAC) of the driving current. The response of the GMI voltage was found non-linear with the generation of higher harmonics at higher amplitude of the driving current. The second and third harmonic signals were also evaluated and their dependence on the driving current amplitude and frequency were presented in the paper. The experimental results were analyzed using single domain rotational model. The voltage harmonics were calculated through Fourier transform of the time derivative of the estimated circular magnetization of the sample.  相似文献

A novel approach of determining the sign of the hyperfine magnetic field using elliptically polarized resonant γ-photons is presented. The method is demonstrated by a transmission experiment on α-Fe using a 57Co:α-Fe source partially saturated parallel and antiparallel to each other in plane at a shallow angle of ~10° relative to the k-vector of the γ-rays. The evaluation procedure decomposes the resulting spectra into four linearly independent principal subspectra, namely I?∣?∣?, $I_\bot $ , I↑↑, I↑↓, the linearly polarized parallel and perpendicular as well as the circularly polarized parallel and antiparallel components, respectively, and derives the experimental average polar angles of the hyperfine fields both in the source and absorber α-Fe foils as well as the mean difference of the azimuth angles. By this procedure not only the relative alignment but also the relative sign is determined.  相似文献

We presented a novel orthogonally linearly polarized Nd:YVO4 laser. Two pieces of a-cut grown-together composite YVO4/Nd:YVO4 crystals were placed in the resonant cavity with the c-axis of the two crystals orthogonally. The polarization and power performance of the orthogonally polarized laser were investigated. A 26.2-W orthogonally linearly polarized laser was obtained. The power ratio between the two orthogonally polarized lasers was varied with the pump power caused by the polarized mode coupling. The longitudinal modes competition and the corresponding variable optical beats were also observed from the orthogonally polarized laser. We also adjusted the crystals with their c-axis parallele to each other, and a 40.7-W linearly polarized TEM00 laser was obtained, and the beam quality factors were M2x=1.37 and M2y=1.25.  相似文献

Zero field-level crossing signals of the 5s 5p 1 P 1-level of the Sr I-spectrum were investigated in superimposed homogeneous magnetic and electric fields. The electric field-dependent Δμ=1-crossings were detected by resonance scattering of linearly polarized light of the 4607 Å-line, the directions of polarization forming an oblique angle with the field axisz. The experiments yielded the tensor polarizability of the 5s 5p 1 P 1-level ¦αten¦=15.7 kHz/(kV/cm)2. This value is related to oscillator strengths of electric dipole transitions from the 5s 5p 1 P 1-level to1 S 0- and1 D 2-levels. The level crossing signals, obtained by resonance scattering oflinearly polarized light, are discussed using a formula, originally derived by Rose and Carovillano for level crossing experiments withunpolarized light beams. The applicability of the formula to our experiments results from an equivalence of level crossing measurements with unpolarized and those with linearly polarized light beams.  相似文献
