A method is presented for generating highly squeezed states of a cavity field via the atom-cavity field interaction of the Raman type.In the scheme a sequence of three-level Λ-type atoms interacts with a cavity field, displaced by a classical source,in a Raman manner. Then the atomic states are measured.By this way the cavity field may collapse onto a superposition of several coherent states, which exhibits strong squeezing. The scheme can also be used to prepare superpositions of many two-mode coherent states for two cavity fields. The coherent states in each mode are on a straight line. This is the first way for preparing multi-component entangled coherent states of this type in cavity QED.  相似文献

This paper proposes a scheme for generation of superpositions of coherent states of the effective bosonic mode in a collection of atoms. In the scheme an atomic sample interacts with a slightly detuned cavity mode and a resonant strong classical field. Under certain conditions the atomic system evolves from a coherent state to a superposition of coherent states.  相似文献

It is shown that two trapped ions interacting with laser beams resonant to the first red side-band of center-of-mass mode,in Lamb-Dicke regime and under rotating wave approximation,is described by a Jaynes-Cummings model. For the initial condition that the motional state of center-of-mass mode is in vacuum state and the internal state is prepared in a coherent superposition of states, coherence and squeezing for the vibratile motion of center-of-mass mode are discussed, particularly,a“weak” coherent state and a “weak” squeezed vacuum state are obtained.Collapse and revival are also observed in this type of initial condition.  相似文献

Tunnelling of a two-level atom is investigated in the two-photon mazer when the atom is initially prepared in a coherent superposition state and the cavity in various quantum states. For a strong coherent field, the tunnelling exhibits more regular oscillations but less remarkable switch effect than that in the one-photon mazer. It is discovered that in the presence of atomic coherence, the transmission probabilities in the ultracold regime are significantly different when the cavity field is initially in coherent, squeezed vacuum, even cat and odd cat states, respectively.  相似文献

We propose a new scheme for generating the superposition and entanglement of the coherent states and squeezed states by considering N superconducting charge qubits (or artificial two-level atoms) interacting with photons in a high finesse cavity on a chip, assisted by a strong driving field. By virtue of the parameters of this system, we can generate novel quantum states, for example, multiparty entangled states and Schro¨dinger cat states among the superconducting qubits, coherent states and squeezed state...  相似文献

The effects of decoherence on elliptical states which concern the quantum superposition of N coherent states on an ellipse in the α plane are studied. The characteristic decoherence times are determined. The evolutions of the Wigner functions associated with these states are investigated theoretically and the losses of nonclassicality as a result of decoherence are discussed. The result shows that the decoherence of elliptical states is slower than circular states relying on the number of coherent states and the amplitude, and the constructed states have a higher resilience to losses.  相似文献

This paper proposes a scheme for generating arbitrary superpositions of several coherent states along a straight line for a cavity mode. In the scheme, several atoms are sent through a cavity initially in a strong coherent state. The superposition of several coherent states with desired coefficients may be generated if each atom is detected in the excited state after it exits the cavity. The scheme is based on resonant atom--cavity interaction and no classical field is required during and after the atom--cavity interaction. Thus, the scheme is very simple and the interaction time is very short, which is important in view of decoherence.  相似文献

This paper discusses the amplitude-squared squeezing for the superposition of two coherent states with their phase differences being separately π/2, 3π/2, and π1, as well as for the superposition state of two pseudoclassical states. According to the analysis, it is found that the superposition state of two coherent states with their phase differences π/2 and 3π/2, and the superposition state of two pseudoclassical states both do exhibit the amplitude-squared squeezing. Also, some specific states are found to exhibit even stronger squeezing effects when relative phase of the superposition is equal to the average photon number. Amplitude-squared squeezing is dependent on the difference in phase between two coherent states.  相似文献

This paper discusses some statistical properties of the superposition of two coherent states with a vacuum state, such as sub-Poissonian photon statistics and negativity of the Wigner function. Phase probability distribution and phase variance are calculated. Special cases of the constructed superposition states are presented. The results show that depending on the vacuum state coefficient γ and the coherent state coefficient α, it can generate a variety of nonclassical states.  相似文献

The interaction of N identical atoms with both a quantized cavity field and an external classical pumping field with the fields being degenerate in frequency, is studied in the regime where the atoms and fields are highly detuned. This dispersive interaction can be used to generate coherent states for the cavity field. By preparing the injected atoms in a superposition of the bare atomic states, various types of Schroedinger-cat-like states may be generated.  相似文献

This paper proposes a scheme for the generation of entangled coherent states for two cavity modes. In the scheme a V-type three-level atom is sent through a two-mode cavity filled with a coherent field. After the atom cavity interaction and detection of the atomic state the cavity modes may evolve to a superposition of two-mode coherent states. As the scheme is based on resonant atom-cavity interaction, the required interaction time is short, which is important in view of the decoherence. Moreover, additional classical pulses are unnecessary before and after the atom-cavlty interaction.  相似文献

One-photon and two-photon superposition states are the fundamental quantum states, which have shown interesting features, such as squeezing and anti-bunching. In this paper we discuss the quantum teleportation of such quantum states with the continuous-wave EPR states. Fidelity as a function of EPR correlation is obtained. We also compared the results with Fock state and coherent state teleportation.  相似文献

A scheme for creating an arbitrary coherent superposition of two atomic states in serial multi-A-type system is proposed. This technique with the application of a control field is based on the existence of two degenerate dark states and their interaction. The mixing of the dark states can be controlled by changing the relative delay time of the control pulse. One can get any desired superposition by changing the delay time of the control pulse.  相似文献

Quantum coherence, emerging from the "superposition" of quantum states,is widely used in various information processing tasks.Recently, the resource theory of multilevel quantum coherence is attracting substantial attention. In this paper,we mainly study the transformations of resource pure states via free operations in the theoretical framework for multilevel coherence. We prove that any two multilevel coherent resource pure states can be interconverted with a nonzero probability via a completely positive and trace non-increasing k-coherence-preserving map.Meanwhile,we present the condition of the interconversions of two multilevel coherent resource pure states under k-coherence-preserving operations. In addition,we obtain that in the resource-theoretic framework of multilevel coherence,no resource state is isolated, that is,given a multilevel coherent pure state |ψ,there exists another multilevel coherent pure state |Φ and a k-coherence-preserving operation ∧_k,such that ∧_k(|Φ)=|ψ.  相似文献

Transient coherent oscillations in a closed Λ system under far-off resonant Raman fields were investigated theoretically. It has been found that the coherent superposition of the ground states can be formed due to the absorption even for initial maximal mixed ground states. The absorption oscillates with a period depending on the two-photon detuning when the system is initially in a transparent state and the two-photon Raman detuning is suddenly changed. The amplitude of the absorption decays with the decay rate of the ground states, which is different from the case when the lasers are applied resonantly. These transient coherent oscillations can be used to measure the relaxation rate of the ground states.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for the simultaneously preparation radiation-field modes of a single photon and a superposition of zero- and one-photon states, based on the coherent quantum state displacement and photon subtraction from two-mode squeezed state. It is shown that the single-photon and the superposition states can be obtained by only choosing the suitable parameter of displacements. The experimental feasibility to accomplish this scheme is also discussed.  相似文献

We construct a general form of propagator in arbitrary dimensions and give an exact wavefunction of a time- dependent forced harmonic oscillator in D(D ≥ 1) dimensions. The coherent states, defined as the eigenstates of annihilation operator, of the D-dimensional harmonic oscillator are derived. These coherent states correspond to the minimum uncertainty states and the relation between them is investigated.  相似文献

Polarization, an intrinsic ingredient of photon, plays a critical role in its interaction with matter. A general polarization state can be an appropriate superposition of two basic polarization states, say, the vertical and horizontal linear polarized state. Here we study spontaneous emission of a V-type three-level atom(with two upper states close in energy level)strongly coupled with a single-mode damped optical cavity. By defining a general polarization state of atom as a specific superposition of the two upper quantum states, we can prepare atoms with linear polarization at arbitrary direction, left and right circular polarization, and left and right elliptical polarization, similar to photons. We find that the spontaneous emission of light from these "polarized" three-level atoms shows very different profiles of side and axis spectra. This means that the polarization state of three-level atoms can become an active ingredient to manipulate its interaction with light and control the quantum interference effect. Exploitation of the coherent superposition and interference of quantum states in"polarized" atoms would allow one to deeply explore new frontiers of light–matter interaction.  相似文献

Recent studies show that quantum non-Gaussian states or using non-Gaussian operations can improve entanglement distillation, quantum swapping, teleportation, and cloning. In this work, employing a strategy of non-Gaussian operations(namely subtracting and adding a single photon), we propose a scheme to generate non-Gaussian quantum states named single-photon-added and-subtracted coherent(SPASC) superposition states by implementing Bell measurements, and then investigate the corresponding nonclassical features. By squeezed the input field, we demonstrate that robustness of nonGaussianity can be improved. Controllable phase space distribution offers the possibility to approximately generate a displaced coherent superposition states(DCSS). The fidelity can reach up to F ≥ 0.98 and F ≥ 0.90 for size of amplitude z = 1.53 and 2.36, respectively.  相似文献
