This study investigated the use of ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) to improve the extraction efficiency of the classical solvent extraction techniques such as maceration and soxhlet extraction to extract anti-oxidant activity compounds, anthraquinones, from the root of Morinda citrifolia. The effects of different extraction conditions were determined, i.e., temperature of (25, 45, 60 °C), ultrasonic power, solvent types, and compositions of ethanol in ethanol–water mixtures. The results show that the yield increases with increasing extraction times and extraction temperatures. The percent recovery of anthraquinones using ultrasound was found to be highly dependent on the type of solvents (acetone > acetonitrile > methanol > ethanol). Furthermore, the use of ethanol–water solution as extraction solvent increased the yield of anthraquinones due to the relative polarity, the swelling effect of plant tissue matrix by water, and increased sound absorption. To achieve the same recovery as that achieved by UAE, soxhlet extraction and maceration required much longer time.  相似文献

The extracting technology including ultrasonic and microwave assisted extraction (UMAE) and ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) of lycopene from tomato paste were optimized and compared. The results showed that the optimal conditions for UMAE were 98 W microwave power together with 40 KHz ultrasonic processing, the ratio of solvents to tomato paste was 10.6:1 (V/W) and the extracting time should be 367 s; as for UAE, the extracting temperature was 86.4 °C, the ratio of the solvents to tomato paste was 8.0:1 (V/W) and the extracting time should be 29.1 min, while the percentage of lycopene yield was 97.4% and 89.4% for UMAE and UAE, respectively. These results implied that UMAE was far more efficient extracting method than UAE.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to develop an effective method for extracting anthocyanins from blueberry Vaccinium spp. (ABVS) using freeze-ultrasonic thawing technology (FUTE). Various parameters including freezing time, ultrasonic time, ultrasonic temperature and liquid–solid ratio were optimized by a single-factor design and multiple response surface methodology. The amounts of extracted anthocyanin and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside were measured by UV and HPLC respectively. The maximum yield of anthocyanins was achieved by freezing the samples for 5.43 min in liquid nitrogen at the liquid–solid ratio of 24.07:1 mL/g, followed by ultrasonic thawing at 41.64 °C for 23.56 min. The yield and antioxidant effects of ABVS extracted using FUTE, ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and freeze-thawing extraction (FTE) were compared in order to determine the overall efficacy of FUTE. In addition to the higher content, FUTE extracted ABVS showed greater ability to scavenge DPPH·, ABTS+ and superoxide anions, and inhibit lipid peroxidation compared to the ABVS extracted by UAE or FTE. The reducing power of the FUTE-derived ABVS was intermediate between that of the UAE and FTE samples. Taken together, FUTE can rapidly and effectively extract ABVS and retain its antioxidant capacity.  相似文献

The ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) was conducted using the stainless steel (SS) and polyether ether ketone (PEEK) columns and analyzed with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to understand the mechanism of ultrasound-assisted chromatography (UAC). Empty SS and PEEK columns were used to extract dyes from a fabric under identical conditions with several parameters including the initial ultrasonic bath temperatures (30 °C and 40 °C), ultrasound power intensities (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 %), ultrasound operation modes (normal and sweep), and ultrasound frequencies (25 kHz, 40 kHz, and 132 kHz) to compare their extraction capabilities. After 30 min of extraction, the amount of extract was determined by HPLC. The PEEK material was significantly affected by ultrasonic radiation compared to the SS material, especially at a higher temperature (40 °C), power intensity (100 %), and frequency (132 kHz) with sweep mode. At a maximum power density of 45 W/L, the extraction effectiveness ratio of PEEK to SS was in the range of 1.8 - 3.9 depending on the specific frequency, initial temperature, and with or without temperature control. The most optimal ultrasound frequencies, in terms of enhancing extraction effectiveness, are in the order of 132 kHz, 40 kHz, and 25 kHz. Unlike the SS material, the PEEK material was more affected by temperature and acoustic effects under identical conditions, especially at 132 kHz ultrasound frequency. In contrast, at lower frequencies of 40 kHz and 25 kHz, no significant differences in the acoustic effects were observed between the PEEK and SS materials. The findings of this study contribute to elucidating the roles of column materials in UAE and UAC.  相似文献

The effects of various factors, including the extraction time, temperature, solvent/material ratio, the ultrasonic intensity and duty cycle of ultrasonic irradiation on the extraction yield of all-trans-lycopene from red grapefruit by ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) were investigated. In comparison with conventional solvent extraction (CSE), UAE showed a pronounced greater extraction yield and reduced extraction time effectively with a peak value at 30 min. The extraction yield was significantly influenced by temperature and the optimum condition was 30 °C. The extraction yield increased with increasing of solvent/material ratio until equilibrium was arrived at the optimal ratio of 3:1 (mL/g). The extraction yield increased first and then decreased with an increase in ultrasonic intensity. The extraction yield of UAE increased with the increase of duty cycle, whereas pulsed ultrasound with proper intervals was more efficient than continuous ultrasonication. The degradation via isomerisation of all-trans-lycopene under ultrasonic treatment was also observed with the formation of 9,13′-di-cis-, 9,13-di-cis-, 15-cis-, 13-cis- and 9-cis-lycopene isomers which were tentatively identified by HPLC-PAD.  相似文献

A time-saving, efficient, and environmentally friendly ultrasonic-microwave-assisted natural deep eutectic solvent (UMAE-NADES) extraction method was developed for the extraction of anthocyanins from Aronia melanocarpa. Eight different natural eutectic solvents were screened initially, and choline chloride-glycerol was selected as the extraction solvent. The extraction conditions were optimized using the response surface methodology, and the extraction rate of anthocyanins was higher than those achieved using the traditional ethanol method, natural deep eutectic solvent extraction method, and ultrasonic-microwave-assisted ethanol method. Six anthocyanins, including cyanidin-3-O-galactoside, cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, cyanidin-3-O-arabinoside, cyanidin-3-O-xyloside, cyanidin-3,5-O-dihexoside, and the dimer of cyanidin-hexoside were identified and extracted at a purity of 448.873 mg/g using high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). The compounds extracted using UMAE-NADES had higher antioxidant capacities than those extracted by the other three methods. The UMAE-NADES demonstrated significant efficiency toward the extraction of bioactive substances and has potential utility in the food and pharmaceutical industries.  相似文献

The effectiveness of ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) of pomegranate seed oil (PSO) was evaluated using a variety of solvents. Petroleum ether was the most effective for oil extraction, followed by n-hexane, ethyl acetate, diethyl ether, acetone, and isopropanol. Several variables, such as ultrasonic power, extraction temperature, extraction time, and the ratio of solvent volume and seed weight (S/S ratio) were studied for optimization using response surface methodology (RSM). The highest oil yield, 25.11% (w/w), was obtained using petroleum ether under optimal conditions for ultrasonic power, extraction temperature, extraction time, and S/S ratio at 140 W, 40 °C, 36 min, and 10 ml/g, respectively. The PSO yield extracted by UAE was significantly higher than by using Soxhlet extraction (SE; 20.50%) and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE; 15.72%). The fatty acid compositions were significantly different among the PSO extracted by Soxhlet extraction, SFE, and UAE, with punicic acid (>65%) being the most dominant using UAE.  相似文献

In this work, a four-factor five-level full factorial central composite design (CCD) was used to optimize the ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of saffron major components, namely picrocrocin, safranal and crocin. The process parameters included ethanol concentration (0–100%), extraction time (2–10 min), duty cycle (0.2–1.0) and ultrasonic amplitude (20–100%). The extracted compounds were measured both by spectrophotometry and chromatography techniques. The results revealed that the middle concentrations of ethanol and relatively long process durations along with high duty cycles and ultrasonic amplitudes had the most profound impact on the yields of the extracted bioactives. UAE was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial bee colony (ABC); a comparison between these methods indicated their optimization power was approximately the same. According to the RSM analysis, an ethanol concentration of 58.58%, extraction time of 6.85 min, duty cycle of 0.82 and amplitude of 91.11% were the optimum extraction conditions, while the optimal conditions resulting from ABC were 53.07%, 7.32 min, 0.93 and 100% for the UAE variables respectively. Finally, HPLC analysis was carried out on the UAE optimum extract resulting from RSM. Four crocetin esters were detected in the optimal extract.  相似文献

A green, inexpensive and easy-to-use method for carotenoids extraction from fresh carrots assisted by ultrasound was designed in this work. Sunflower oil was applied as a substitute to organic solvents in this green ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE): a process which is in line with green extraction and bio-refinery concepts. The processing procedure of this original UAE was first compared with conventional solvent extraction (CSE) using hexane as solvent. Moreover, the UAE optimal conditions for the subsequent comparison were optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) and ultra performance liquid chromatography – diode array detector – mass spectroscopy (UPLC–DAD–MS). The results showed that the UAE using sunflower as solvent has obtained its highest β-carotene yield (334.75 mg/l) in 20 min only, while CSE using hexane as solvent obtained a similar yield (321.35 mg/l) in 60 min. The green UAE performed under optimal extraction conditions (carrot to oil ratio of 2:10, ultrasonic intensity of 22.5 W cm?2, temperature of 40 °C and sonication time of 20 min) gave the best yield of β-carotene.  相似文献

Ultrasound is an advanced non-thermal food-processing technology that has received increasing amounts of interest as an alternative to, or an adjuvant method for, conventional processing techniques. This review explores the sono-physical and sono-chemical effects of ultrasound on food processing as it reviews two typical food-processing applications that are predominantly driven by sono-physical effects, namely ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and ultrasound-assisted freezing (UAF), and the components modifications to food matrices that can be triggered by sono-chemical effects. Efficiency enhancements and quality improvements in products (and extracts) using ultrasound are discussed in terms of mechanism and principles for a range of food-matrix categories, while efforts to improve existing ultrasound-assist patterns was also seen. Furthermore, the progress of experimental ultrasonic equipments for UAE and UAF as food-processing technologies, the core of the development in food-processing techniques is considered. Moreover, sono-chemical reactions that are usually overlooked, such as degradation, oxidation and other particular chemical modifications that occur in common food components under specific conditions, and the influence on bioactivity, which was also affected by food processing to varying degrees, are also summarised. Further trends as well as some challenges for, and limitations of, ultrasound technology for food processing, with UAE and UAF used as examples herein, are also taken into consideration and possible future recommendations were made.  相似文献

Carotenoids are an essential component of cashew and can be used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, natural pigment, food additives, among other applications. The present work focuses on optimizing and comparing conventional and ultrasound-assisted extraction methods. Every optimization step took place with a 1:1 (w:w) mixture of yellow and red cashew apples lyophilized and ground in a cryogenic mill. A Simplex-centroid design was applied for both methods, and the solvents acetone, methanol, ethanol, and petroleum ether were evaluated. After choosing the extractor solvent, a central composite design was applied to optimize the sample mass (59–201 mg) and extraction time (6–34 min). The optimum conditions for the extractor solvent were 38% acetone, 30% ethanol, and 32% petroleum ether for CE and a mixture of 44% acetone and 56% methanol for UAE. The best experimental conditions for UAE were a sonication time of 19 min and a sample mass of 153 mg, while the CE was 23 min and 136 mg. Comparing red and yellow cashews, red cashews showed a higher carotenoid content in both methodologies. The UAE methodology was ca. 21% faster, presented a more straightforward composition of extracting solution, showed an average yield of superior carotenoid content in all samples compared to CE. Therefore, UAE has demonstrated a simple, efficient, fast, low-cost adjustment methodology and a reliable alternative for other applications involving these bioactive compounds in the studied or similar matrix.  相似文献

The present study optimised the ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of bioactive compounds from Amaranthus hypochondriacus var. Nutrisol. Influence of temperature (25.86–54.14 °C) and ultrasonic power densities (UPD) (76.01–273.99 mW/mL) on total betalains (BT), betacyanins (BC), betaxanthins (BX), total polyphenols (TP), antioxidant activity (AA), colour parameters (L*, a*, and b*), amaranthine (A), and isoamaranthine (IA) were evaluated using response surface methodology. Moreover, betalain extraction kinetics and mass transfer coefficients (KLa) were determined for each experimental condition. BT, BC, BX, TP, AA, b*, KLa, and A were significantly affected (p < 0.05) by temperature extraction and UPD, whereas L*, a*, and IA were only affected (p < 0.05) by temperature. All response models were significantly validated with regression coefficients (R2) ranging from 87.46 to 99.29%. BT, A, IA, and KLa in UAE were 1.38, 1.65, 1.50, and 29.93 times higher than determined using conventional extraction, respectively. Optimal UAE conditions were obtained at 41.80 °C and 188.84 mW/mL using the desired function methodology. Under these conditions, the experimental values for BC, BX, BT, TP, AA, L*, a*, b*, KLa, A, and IA were closely related to the predicted values, indicating the suitability of the developed quadratic models. This study proposes a simple and efficient UAE method to obtain betalains and polyphenols with high antioxidant activity, which can be used in several applications within the food industry.  相似文献

In this study, the application of ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) method was shown to be more efficient in extracting anti-tumor bufadienolides (bufalin, cinobufagin and resibufogenin) from important animal medicine of ChanSu than the maceration extraction (ME) and soxhlet extraction (SE) method. The effects of ultrasonic variables including extraction solvent, solvent concentration, solvent to solid ratio, ultrasound power, temperature, extraction time and particle size on the yields of three bufadienolides were investigated. The optimum extraction conditions found were: 70% (v/v) methanol solution, solvent to solid ratio of 10ml/g, ultrasound power of 125W, temperature of 20°C, extraction time of 20min and particle size of 60-80 mesh. The extraction yields of bufalin, cinobufagin and resibufogenin were 43.17±0.85, 52.58±1.12, 137.70±2.65mg/g, respectively. In order to achieve a similar yield as UAE, soxhlet extraction required 6h and maceration extraction required much longer time of 18h. The results indicated that UAE is an alternative method for extracting bufadienolides from ChanSu.  相似文献

This review presents a complete picture of current knowledge on ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) in food ingredients and products, nutraceutics, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and bioenergy applications. It provides the necessary theoretical background and some details about extraction by ultrasound, the techniques and their combinations, the mechanisms (fragmentation, erosion, capillarity, detexturation, and sonoporation), applications from laboratory to industry, security, and environmental impacts. In addition, the ultrasound extraction procedures and the important parameters influencing its performance are also included, together with the advantages and the drawbacks of each UAE techniques. Ultrasound-assisted extraction is a research topic, which affects several fields of modern plant-based chemistry. All the reported applications have shown that ultrasound-assisted extraction is a green and economically viable alternative to conventional techniques for food and natural products. The main benefits are decrease of extraction and processing time, the amount of energy and solvents used, unit operations, and CO2 emissions.  相似文献

Rapid extraction techniques with ultrasonic systems have been established to extract resveratrol from two functional foods, namely cookies and jams. The ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) was optimized using a full factorial design with three variables: solvent composition (10–70% and 30–90% methanol in water for cookies and jams, respectively), solvent-to-solid ratio (10:1–40:1), and ultrasonic probe diameter (2 and 7 mm). The extraction kinetics (5–30 min) were studied to confirm the full recovery of resveratrol from the functional foods. The resveratrol was quantified by Ultrahigh Performance Liquid Chromatography with a Fluorescense Detector (UPLC-FD).  相似文献

Ultrasonic cell grinder extraction (UCGE), using water as the solvent, was firstly applied to extract anthocyanins from blueberry. Extraction yield was related with four variables, including ratio of solution to solid, extraction power, buffer time, and extraction time. On the basis of response surface methodology (RSM), the optimal conditions were determined to be the ratio of solution to solid as 25:1 (mL/g), the extraction power as 1500 W, the buffer time as 3.0 s, and the extraction time as 40 min. The experimental yield of anthocyanins using UCGE was 2.89 mg/g higher than that of conventional ultrasound-assisted extraction (CUAE). This study indicated that UCGE was an innovative, efficient, and environment friendly method in ultrasonic extraction fields, and had a potential to effectively extract other bioactive constituents.  相似文献

In this study, ultrasonic/microwave-assisted extraction (UMAE), microwave-assisted extraction (UAE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), and pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) were applied to extract green coffee oil (GCO), and the physicochemical indexes, fatty acids, tocopherols, diterpenes, and total phenols as well as antioxidant activity of GCO were investigated and compared. The results indicated that the extraction yield of UMAE was the highest (10.58 ± 0.32%), while that of PLE was the lowest (6.34 ± 0.65%), and linoleic acid and palmitic acid were the major fatty acids in the GCO, ranging from 40.67% to 43.77% and 36.57% to 38.71%, respectively. A large proportion of fatty acids and phytosterols were not significantly influenced by the four extraction techniques. However, tocopherols, diterpenes, total phenols, and the free radical scavenging activity were significantly different among these four GCOs. Moreover, structural changes in the coffee residues were explored by scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Overall, the high antioxidant activity of GCO demonstrated that it can be used as a highly economical natural product in the food and agricultural industries.  相似文献

An ultrasonically assisted extraction (UAE) technique was developed for the extraction of manganese from electrolytic manganese slag using a sulfuric acid-hydrochloric acid mixture (4:0.3, v/v) as solvent. The UAE conditions were optimized and the significance of variables affecting UAE tested. The determination of manganese was carried out by atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). The ultrasonic extraction efficiency of manganese can reach about 90% under the following optimum conditions: solvent-slag ratio: 4 mL/g; temperature: 333 K; particle size: 0.2 mm; extraction time: 35 min; amount of additive (citric acid): 8 mg/g slag. During the UAE process, the particle size parameter on the extraction was the most significant, followed by solvent-slag ratio, citric acid mass, time and temperature. The repeatability of UAE technique was satisfactory. The ultrasonic method shown to be a much superior approach to the conventional extraction method in the extraction of manganese from slag.  相似文献

Aqueous ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of grape pomace was investigated by Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to evaluate the effect of acoustic frequency (40, 80, 120 kHz), ultrasonic power density (50, 100, 150 W/L) and extraction time (5, 15, 25 min) on total phenolics, total flavonols and antioxidant capacity. All the process variables showed a significant effect on the aqueous UAE of grape pomace (p < 0.05). The Box–Behnken Design (BBD) generated satisfactory mathematical models which accurately explain the behavior of the system; allowing to predict both the extraction yield of phenolic and flavonol compounds, and also the antioxidant capacity of the grape pomace extracts. The optimal UAE conditions for all response factors were a frequency of 40 kHz, a power density of 150 W/L and 25 min of extraction time. Under these conditions, the aqueous UAE would achieve a maximum of 32.31 mg GA/100 g fw for total phenolics and 2.04 mg quercetin/100 g fw for total flavonols. Regarding the antioxidant capacity, the maximum predicted values were 53.47 and 43.66 mg Trolox/100 g fw for CUPRAC and FRAP assays, respectively. When comparing with organic UAE, in the present research, from 12% to 38% of total phenolic bibliographic values were obtained, but using only water as the extraction solvent, and applying lower temperatures and shorter extraction times. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no studies specifically addressing the optimization of both acoustic frequency and power density during aqueous-UAE of plant materials have been previously published.  相似文献
