We theoretically study the thermoelectric transport properties through a triple quantum dots (QDs) device with the central QD coupled to a ferromagnetic lead, a superconducting one, and two side QDs with spin-dependent interdot tunneling coupling. The thermoelectric coefficients are calculated in the linear response regime by means of nonequilibrium Green's function method. The thermopower is determined by the single-electron tunneling processes at the edge of superconducting gap. Near the outside of the gap edge the thermopower is enhanced while thermal conductance is suppressed, as a result, the charge figure of merit can be greatly improved as the gap appropriately increases. In the same way, charge figure of merit also can be greatly improved near the outside of the gap edge by adjusting interdot tunneling coupling and asymmetry coupling of the side QDs to central QD. Moreover, the appropriate increase of the interdot tunneling splitting and spin polarization of ferromagnetic lead not only can improve charge thermopower and charge figure of merit, but also can enhance spin thermopower and spin figure of merit. Especially, the interdot tunneling splitting scheme provides a method of controlling charge (spin) figure merit by external magnetic field.  相似文献

Spin Seebeck effect (SSE) in triple quantum dots coupled to ferromagnetic leads is studied by using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green’s function technique. In low temperature regimes, the Fano effect arising from the interferences between the isolated states and the continuum plays an dominant role in the electronic and thermoelectric transport processes. The Seebeck coefficient depends on spin degree of freedom when the leads’ magnetic moments are in parallel configuration. When the leads’ polarization is varied, the charge Seebeck coefficients are less influenced, whereas those of the spin counterparts are obviously changed. The magnitudes of both the SSE coefficient and the spin figure of merit (FOM) will be enhanced by increasing the asymmetry of the leads’ spin polarization. In the presence of the spin-dependent interdot couplings, the strengths of the charge and spin thermoelectric quantities are individually suppressed and enhanced, and then the magnitudes of the SSE coefficient and the spin FOM are comparable to those of the charge counterparts. Interestingly, by the joint effects of the ferromagnetism on the leads and the spin-dependent interdot couplings, the spin thermopower can even changes its sign around the antiresonance states.

We theoretically study the thermoelectric transport properties in a quantum dot system with two ferromagnetic leads, the spin-flip scattering and the external magnetic field. The results show that the spin polarization of the leads strongly influences thermoelectric coefficients of the device. For the parallel configuration the peak of figure of merit increases with the increase of polarization strength and non-collinear configuration trends to destroy the improvement of figure of merit induced by lead polarization. While the modulation of the spin-flip scattering on the figure of merit is effective only in the absence of external magnetic field or small magnetic field. In terms of improving the thermoelectric efficiency, the external magnetic field plays a more important role than spin-flip scattering. The thermoelectric efficiency can be significantly enhanced by the magnetic field for a given spin-flip scattering strength.  相似文献

We investigate the triplet-singlet relaxation in a double quantum dot defined by top gates in an InAs nanowire. In the Pauli spin blockade regime, the leakage current can be mainly attributed to spin relaxation. While at weak and strong interdot coupling relaxation is dominated by two individual mechanisms, the relaxation is strongly reduced at intermediate coupling and finite magnetic field. In addition we observe a characteristic bistability of the spin-nonconserving current as a function of magnetic field. We propose a model where these features are explained by the polarization of nuclear spins enabled by the interplay between hyperfine and spin-orbit mediated relaxation.  相似文献

We investigate electronic transport through a parallel double quantum dot (DQD) system with strong on-site Coulomb interaction, as well as the interdot tunnelling. By applying numerical renormalization group method, the ground state of the system and the transmission probability at zero temperature are obtained. For a system of quantum dots with degenerate energy levels and small interdot tunnel coupling, the spin correlations between the DQDs is ferromagnetic, and the ground state of the system is a spin-1 triplet state. The linear conductance will reach the unitary limit (2e^2/h) due to the Kondo effect at low temperature. As the interdot tunnel coupling increases, there is a quantum phase transition from ferromagnetic to anti-ferromagnetic spin correlation in DQDs and the linear conductance is strongly suppressed.  相似文献

We theoretically study the spin pump effects of the rotating magnetic field on the spin current through two coupled quantum dots. Owing to the interdot coupling, two molecular states with different bands can be formed, resulting asymmetric spin current peaks. The possibility of manipulating the spin current is explored by tuning the strength, the frequency, and the direction of the rotating magnetic field. The number and location of the spin current peaks can be controlled by making use of various tunings. Furthermore, the normal 2π period of the spin current with respect to the magnetic flux can be destroyed by the interdot coupling.  相似文献

The quantum phase transition and the electronic transport in a triangular quantum dot system are investigated using the numerical renormalization group method. We concentrate on the interplay between the interdot capacitive coupling V and the interdot tunnel coupling t.For small t,three dots form a local spin doublet. As t increases, due to the competition between V and t,there exist two first-order transitions with phase sequence spin-doublet-magnetic frustration phase-orbital spin singlet. When t is absent, the evolutions of the total charge on the dots and the linear conductance are of the typical Coulomb-blockade features with increasing gate voltage. While for sufficient t,the antiferromagnetic spin correlation between dots is enhanced, and the conductance is strongly suppressed for the bonding state is almost doubly occupied.  相似文献

The spin thermoelectric effects are studied in a Rashba double quantum dot (QD) attached to ferromagnetic leads with noncollinear magnetic moments. The spin conductance G(s), spin thermopower S(s), electron thermal conductance κ(el) and spin thermoelectric figure of merit Z(s)T are calculated by using Green's function method. We find that the magnitude of the spin figure of merit can be remarkably enhanced by the coexistence of the Rashba spin-orbit interaction in the QDs and the leads' spin polarization, and can reach even as high as 3 by optimizing the parameters of the structure. The angle between the leads' magnetic moments can act as a powerful means to manipulate the properties of the spin figure of merit.  相似文献

We study a symmetrical double quantum dot (DD) system with strong capacitive interdot coupling using renormalization group methods. The dots are attached to separate leads, and there can be a weak tunneling between them. In the regime where there is a single electron on the DD the low-energy behavior is characterized by an SU(4)-symmetric Fermi liquid theory with entangled spin and charge Kondo correlations and a phase shift pi/4. Application of an external magnetic field gives rise to a large magnetoconductance and a crossover to a purely charge Kondo state in the charge sector with SU(2) symmetry. In a four-lead setup we find perfectly spin-polarized transmission.  相似文献

A three-quantum-dot spin filter based on nonequilibrium Green?s function technique is proposed with external magnetic flux, Rashba spin orbit interaction, and intradot coulomb interaction taken into consideration. Numerical results indicate a spin filter can be made efficient by adjusting external magnetic flux and Rashba spin orbit interaction. Moreover, the formation of a resonance band is discussed through calculation. It is observed that the possibility of transition from one peak to other three peaks in the conductance spectrum increases with increasing interdot coupling strength.  相似文献

We investigate the thermoelectric effects in a spin field-effect transistor with ferromagnetic leads held at different temperatures. The thermopower S and thermoelectric figure of merit ZT oscillate with the increase of the Rashba spin-orbit coupling strength. The oscillation amplitude of ZT decreases with increasing the spin polarization. S and ZT are strongly influenced by the interfacial barrier strength Z, exhibiting a nonmonotonous change with Z. The thermoelectric effects are also manipulated by the magnetization configuration of the ferromagnetic leads. It is expected that the present study of the thermoelectric effects is helpful in the design of thermoelectric devices.  相似文献

Using an equation-of-motion technique,we theoretically study the Kondo-Fano effect in the T-shaped double quantum dots coupled to two ferromagnetic leads by the Anderson Hamiltonian. We calculate the density of states in this system by solving Green function. Our results reveal that the density of states show some noticeable characteristics not only depending upon the interdot coupling t ab,the energy level ε d1 of the side coupled quantum dot QD b,and the relative angle θ of magnetic moment M,but also the asymmetry parameter α in ferromagnetic leads and so on.All these parameters greatly influence the density of states of the central quantum dot QD a.This system is a possible candidate for spin valve transistors and may have potential applications in the spintronics.  相似文献

We have studied spin-dependent thermoelectric transport through parallel triple quantum dots with Rashba spinorbital interaction(RSOI) embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm interferometer connected symmetrically to leads using nonequilibrium Green's function method in the linear response regime.Under the appropriate configuration of magnetic flux phase and RSOI phase, the spin figure of merit can be enhanced and is even larger than the charge figure of merit. In particular, the charge and spin thermopowers as functions of both the magnetic flux phase and the RSOI phase present quadruple-peak structures in the contour graphs. For some specific configuration of the two phases, the device can provide a mechanism that converts heat into a spin voltage when the charge thermopower vanishes while the spin thermopower is not zero, which is useful in realizing the thermal spin battery and inducing a pure spin current in the device.  相似文献

We theoretically study thermoelectric transport properties through a triangular triple-quantum-dot (TTQD) structure in the linear response regime using the hierarchical equations of motion approach. It is demonstrated that large Seebeck coefficient can be obtained when properly matching the interdot tunneling strength and magnetic flux at the electron-hole symmetry point, as a result of spin chiral interactions in the TTQD system. We present a systematic investigation of the thermopower (the Seebeck coefficient) dependence on the tunneling strength, magnetic flux, and on-site energy. The Seebeck coefficient shows a clear breakdown of electron-hole symmetry in the vicinity of the Kondo regime, accompanied by the deviation from the semiclassical Mott relation in the Kondo and mixed-valence regimes, which result from the many-body effects of the Kondo correlated induced resonance together with spin chiral interactions.  相似文献

Using an equation-of-motion technique, we theoretically study the Fano--Kondo effect in the T-shaped double quantum dots coupled to two ferromagnetic leads by the Anderson Hamiltonian. We calculate the density of states in this system with both parallel and antiparallel lead-polarization alignments, and our results reveal that the interdot coupling, the spin-polarized strength and the energy level of the side coupled quantum dot greatly influence the density of states of the central quantum dot. This system is a possible candidate for spin valve transistors and may have potential applications in the spintronics.  相似文献

We demonstrate the existence of ferrimagnetic and ferromagnetic phases in a spin phase diagram of coupled lateral quantum dot molecules in the quantum Hall regime. The spin phase diagram is determined from the Hartree-Fock configuration interaction method as a function of electron number N and magnetic field B. The quantum Hall ferrimagnetic phase corresponds to spatially imbalanced spin droplets resulting from strong interdot coupling of identical dots. The quantum Hall ferromagnetic phases correspond to ferromagnetic coupling of spin polarization at filling factors between nu=2 and nu=1.  相似文献

We study the thermoelectric effect in a small quantum dot with a magnetic impurity in the Coulomb blockade regime. The electrical conductance, thermal conductance, thermopower, and the thermoelectrical figure of merit(FOM)are calculated by using Green’s function method. It is found that the peaks in the electrical conductance are split by the exchange coupling between the electron entering into the dot and the magnetic impurity inside the dot, accompanied by the decrease in the height of peaks. As a result, the resonances in the thermoelectric quantities, such as the thermal conductance, thermopower, and the FOM,are all split, opening some effective new working regions.Despite of the significant reduction in the height of the electrical conductance peaks induced by the exchange coupling, the values of the FOM and the thermopower can be as large as those in the case of zero exchange coupling. We also find that the thermoelectric efficiency, characterized by the magnitude of the FOM,can be enhanced by adjusting the left–right asymmetry of the electrode–dot coupling or by optimizing the system’s temperature.

We investigate the time-modulated electronic and spin transport properties through two T-shaped three-quantum-dot molecules embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm(A-B) interferometer. By using the Keldysh non-equilibrium Green's function technique, the photon-assisted spin-dependent average current is analyzed. The T-shaped three-quantum-dot molecule A-B interferometer exhibits excellent controllability in the average current resonance spectra by adjusting the interdot coupling strength, Rashba spin-orbit coupling strength, magnetic flux, and amplitude of the time-dependent external field.Efficient spin filtering and multiple electron-photon pump functions are exploited in the multi-quantum-dot molecule A-B interferometer by a time-modulated external field.  相似文献
