We show experimentally that diffraction-induced surface plasmon excitation can mimic enhanced transmission and cause a highly sensitive modulation by the coherent interference between zero-order and reflected first-order diffraction in select regions of the terahertz spectrum. Based on the study of a one-dimensional metallic grating, we obtain the physical mechanisms of the fractional-order surface plasmon resonances observed with the two-dimensional grating of the metallic hole array.  相似文献

We show that the scattering amplitude for a target with spherical symmetry can be directly calculated from the discrete eigenvalues of the corresponding stationary wave equation solved under an absorbing boundary condition, and thus uncover a direct connection between the scattering amplitude and the wave number spectrum. As an illustration, we apply this approach to the scattering of an electromagnetic wave by an array of dielectric slabs and find the transmission coefficient of the array to be completely determined by the spacing between adjacent eigenvalues.  相似文献

摘要设计了一种基于Fabry-Perot干涉波长测量仪.这种测量仪使用两个Fabry-Perot干涉腔,其中一个作为测量腔、另一个作为参考腔,测量腔的一个反射面与被测对象安装在一起,参考腔的一个反射面与压电陶瓷安装在一起.根据透射光谱中心波长与其干涉腔长之间的关系,当参考腔与测量腔的透射光谱中心波长完全重合时,对纳米级微位移实现实时测量.光源采用半导体激光器,可获得所需要的波长值和波长变化范围.实验结果表明,这种测量仪测量误差不大于1.5 nm,该精度可以满足精密机械加工、光电子和微电子加工以及纳米级测量技术等领域的精度要求.  相似文献

The objective surface is considered as the scattering plane; frequency spectrum of a digital hologram transmission light is studied when the reference light and reconstruction wave are spherical waves. The relation between relevant parameters and the object light, conjugate object light and zero-order diffraction wave frequency spectrum distribution. The research results show that: each frequency spectrum of the diffracted wave broadens to various degrees as the radius of the reconstruction wavefront decreases, and frequency aliasing is generated under certain conditions. Based on the research results, a new method that carries out high-pass filtering processing without zero-order diffraction interference upon digital hologram is proposed and the reconstruction experimental proof for eliminating the interferential changeable magnification wave is given.  相似文献

We use a semiclassical approximation to study the transport through the weakly open chaotic Sinai quantum billiards which can be considered as the schematic of a Sinai mesoscopic device,with the diffractive scatterings at the lead openings taken into account.The conductance of the ballistic microstructure which displays universal fluctuations due to quantum interference of electrons can be calculated by Landauer formula as a function of the electron Fermi wave number,and the transmission amplitude can be expressed as the sum over all classical paths connecting the entrance and the exit leads.For the Sinai billiards,the path sum leads to an excellent numerical agreement between the peak positions of power spectrum of the transmission amplitude and the corresponding lengths of the classical trajectories,which demonstrates a good agreement between the quantum theory and the semiclassical theory.  相似文献

We image optical near-field patterns at subwavelength circular hole arrays in Au film by using scanning near-field optical microscopy in near-infrared wavelengths.Periodical oscillation features are found in the near-field images at the air/Au interface and exhibit two typical kinds of standing wave oscillation forms at the wavelengths corresponding to the transmission minimum and maximum in the transmission spectrum,and the latter one originates from the excitation and interference of a surface plasmon wave at the metallic hole arrays.Our work indicates that monitoring optical near-field patterns can help to reveal many interesting properties of surface plasmon waves at metallic nanostructures and understand their underlying physical mechanisms.  相似文献

提出了一种采用两套超大红失谐消逝波干涉和一束蓝失谐消逝波光场来实现原子二维表面微光阱阵列和原子有效强度梯度冷却的新方案,得到了二维表面微光阱阵列的光强分布和光学势分布.研究发现,二维表面微光阱阵列中微光阱的光学势能够有效地囚禁从标准磁光阱中释放的冷原子,并且被囚禁的冷原子能在蓝失谐消逝波光场的作用下产生有效的强度梯度Sisyphus冷却,对87Rb原子而言,原子温度能被冷却到2.56μK.该方案在冷原子物理、原子光学和量子光学领域中有着广阔的应用前景. 关键词: 消逝波干涉 微光阱阵列 原子囚禁 强度梯度冷却  相似文献

A surface-wave sensor based on the resonant transmission characteristics of metal hole arrays is demonstrated in the terahertz (THz) region. Since the frequency of the transmission peak of a metal hole array, which corresponds to the resonant frequency of the surface waves, is particularly sensitive to the refractive index in the vicinity of the metal surface, a very small change in the substances attached to the surface can be detected by monitoring the transmission spectrum. By attaching a layer of substance (thickness t < 5 microm) much thinner than the wavelength of the THz wave (lambda(THz) = 1 mm at 0.3 THz) to the surface of a metal hole array, we demonstrated that the existence of such a small amount of substance can be detected more easily than without the metal hole array. This demonstration of THz sensing with metal hole arrays indicates the possibility of realizing THz surface-wave sensors for biochemical molecules in the THz region.  相似文献

Collective surface plasmon resonance (SPR) excitations in an ordered array of silver nanoshells have been theoretically studied using generalized Mie theory. Near- and far-field radiative coupling between the nanoshells in the array result in a non-monotonic shift of the collective SPR band. When the distance between the shells in the array approaches that of the collective SPR wavelength, we observe narrowing of the collective SPR band due to constructive interference between the scattered electric field from the particles in the array. Further increase of the distance between the nanoshells in the array leads to destructive interference and broadening of the collective SPR band.  相似文献

We present a new explanation of the extraordinary optical transmission through subwavelength hole array in metal films. By using the classical coupled-wave theory, we analyzed the coupling process between light and the surface plasmons wave on metal films with hole array. The analysis shows clearly the physical mechanism of extraordinary optical transmission. The calculation demonstrates that, instead of energy flux directly passing through the holes, the electromagnetic modes could exchange energy by overlapping the evanescent fields under the assistance of hole array. The periodicity of the array provides the momentum-matching condition to present the transmission peaks. The theory exhibits a good agreement with the experimental results reported in every detail.  相似文献

Quantum interference in combined elastic and inelastic scattering of an energetic electron with excitation of a surface plasmon leads to a change in the shape of the corresponding peak in the electron-energyloss spectrum. The plasmon generation is suppressed near the frequency \({{\omega _p } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\omega _p } {\sqrt 2 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\sqrt 2 }}\). The suppression increases with increasing surface-plasmon wave length, because the interference of the energetic-electron scattering processes differing in the sequential order of elastic and inelastic scattering becomes progressively more destructive. The decrease in the height of the surface-plasmon peak in the electron-energy-loss spectrum leads to a non-dissipative broadening in this peak. Quantum interference also causes a specific feature to occur in the azimuthangle dependence of the spectral intensity as the electron energy loss increases in the immediate vicinity of the surface-plasmon peak.  相似文献

本文基于孔径分割、视场分割与通道光谱技术, 提出一种成像光谱偏振技术的新方案. 本方案在单一面阵探测器上同时获取经过不同强度调制的两对正反相干涉图, 四幅干涉图相加获取强度加倍的目标图像, 正反相干涉图相减获取纯干涉条纹, 纯干涉条纹相加减获取强度加倍的单通道干涉条纹, 对单通道干涉条纹进行傅里叶变换获取目标的光谱与偏振信息. 文中描述了方案的原理结构, 推导出了干涉强度的表达式, 并利用计算机仿真验证了方案的可行性. 为新型成像光谱偏振仪的设计和工程化应用提供了一种新思路.  相似文献

针对低信噪比条件下水下小尺度平台与通信浮标间进行隐蔽水声通信时,强多径干扰导致通信困难的问题,提出了一种基于时间反转技术的直接序列扩频隐蔽通信方法。该方法利用多通道主/被动时间反转的空时聚焦效应,提高了低信噪比条件下直接序列扩频通信的抗多径干扰能力,并且具有良好的低检测概率通信能力。仿真和水池实验结果表明:该方法满足水下小尺度平台处理结构简单、低功耗的要求,实现了水下单阵元平台与通信浮标之间的双向隐蔽通信。  相似文献

水声学中波导不变量的研究是近30年来引人注目的课题之一。水下目标辐射噪声的直达波和海面、海底反射波之间的干涉现象中隐含有下水目标的距离信息。提取这种距离信息就为水下目标的被动测距提供了一种新的途径。理论分析和实际海试都证明,甚至单水听器的LOFAR(Low Frequency Analysis Record)图都隐含着目标的距离和运动信息。本文给出利用波导不变量提取目标距离信息的理论推导,证明了在形成干涉条纹的外界条件具备时,利用多个水听器构成的基阵也能以较大增益提供目标距离信息。虽然组成基阵的每一水听器出现干涉条纹的条件是有差异的。这种差异在波束成形时可以加以利用和补偿。本文提出的理论和部分仿真、海试结果为水下目标被动测距和目标识别提供了一种新的途径。   相似文献

The study of wave guide invariant in underwater acoustics is one of attracted topics in recent 30 years.The interferences of direct wave and reflect wave from sea surface and sea bottom of underwater target radiated noise inherent the information of target distance.Extraction of these distance information will provide a possible new way in passive ranging for underwater target.The theoretical analysis and the results of at sea experiments show that the LOFAR(Low Frequency Analysis Record) figure inherently contains the range and moving information of passive acoustic sources,even in the situation that the receiver is only one single hydrophone.The theoretical analysis of extraction of target distance information by using wave guide invariant is presented in this paper.It is shown that,based on the interference striation pattern of target,the hydrophone array system is possible to extract the distance information with quite high array gain.Although the mathematical constrain conditions in forming interference striation pattern are different for individual array element,but it is proved that the differences of time delays between array elements can be used in compensation of beamforming.The theoretical analysis,system simulation and some results of at sea experiment show a new way in passive ranging and target recognition.  相似文献

We report the design of a novel multiband metamaterial bandpass filter(BPF) in the terahertz(THz)-wave region. The designed BPF is composed of a metal–dielectric–metal sandwiched structure with three nested rings on the top surface and a cross structure on the bottom surface. Full-wave simulation results show that the designed BPF has three transmission peaks at frequencies of 0.42, 1.27, and 1.86 THz with transmission rates of-0.87,-1.85, and-1.83 d B, respectively.Multi-reflection interference theory is introduced to explain the transmission mechanism of the designed triple-band BPF.The theoretical transmission spectrum is in good agreement with the full-wave simulated results. The designed BPF can maintain a stable performance as the incident angle varies from 0?to 30?for both transverse electric and transverse magnetic polarizations of the incident wave. The designed BPF can be potentially used in THz devices due to its multiband transmissions, polarization insensitivity, and stable wide-angle response in the THz region.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze interference effects present in the elastodynamic Green's functions G33(x,omega) of the cubic crystals Si and GaAs, which are associated with folded portions of the wave surface of the slow transverse (ST) acoustic mode. G33(x,omega) represents the three dimensional extension of the amplitude distribution imaged in the transmission acoustic microscopy of these crystals. The intensity contrast for oscillations of a particular wave vector k in the interference pattern is determined essentially by the 3D Fourier transform of G33(x,omega)G33*(x,omega). According to the Fourier autocorrelation theorem, that transform is equivalent to the autocorrelation function of the corresponding distribution G(33)(k,omega) in k-space. We show that due to the linear mapping between k-space and the slowness vector s-space, the interference phenomena discussed here are related to geometrical features of the slowness surface of the ST mode. We present calculations of these effects based on the angular spectrum technique.  相似文献

提出了一种采用双方波信号和B-样条小波解调弱反射光纤布拉格光栅(WFBG)的方法,并进行了实验验证.单个方波周期设置为相邻WFBG间光纤中激光往返传输的时间,对单个方波进行猝发操作形成双方波,则前WFBG反射的后方波与后WFBG反射的前方波重叠干涉.采用B-样条小波变换降低干涉信号的噪声,利用Hilbert变换对干涉信号进行π/2相移,对原干涉信号和相移后干涉信号比值进行反正切运算,得到干涉信号的相位信息.将间隔为50m的5-WFBG阵列置于木地板上,分别接收不同振幅和频率的正弦声波,采用上述方法解调的干涉相位信号能较好地反映声波信息.该解调方法解调光路简单,数据处理简单.  相似文献

We report experimental results on the role of aperture shape in middle-infrared enhanced transmission through a metal film perforated with a periodic aperture array. The transmission spectrum is highly dependent on the aperture shape. When the aperture shape changes from circular to cross-dipole or the cross-dipole arm length increases, the transmission spectrum exhibits a large redshift. The enhanced transmission is proposed to be an interplay of surface plasmon polaritions at the metal surface and localized surface plasmons (LSPs) inside the apertures. The shift of the transmission bands is proposed to be due to the redshift of the LSP resonance spectrum of the individual apertures. The role of shape in enhanced transmission in the cascaded structure is also studied.  相似文献
