An analytical approach is presented for the forced vibration analysis of a plate containing a surface crack of variable angular orientation, based on three different boundary conditions. The method is based on classical plate theory. Firstly, the equation of motion is derived for the plate containing the angled surface crack with respect to one side of the plate and subjected to transverse harmonic excitation. The crack formulation representing the angled surface crack is based on a simplified line-spring model. Then, by employing the Berger formulation, the derived governing equation of motion of the cracked plate model is transformed into a cubic nonlinear system. The nonlinear behaviour of the cracked plate model is thus investigated from the amplitude–frequency equation by use of the multiple scales perturbation method. For both cracked square and rectangular plate models, the influence of the boundary conditions, the crack orientation angle, crack length, and location of the point load is demonstrated. It is found that the vibration characteristics and nonlinear characteristics of the plate structure can be greatly affected by the orientation of the crack in the plate. Finally the validity of the developed model is shown through comparison of the results with experimental work.  相似文献

Discontinuity is one of the most important factors which contribute to the nonlinearity, challenging both methods of nonlinear analysis and its application for the analysis of interacting mechanical processes. The problem becomes more complicated when the discontinuity is developing under the influence of dynamic processes in the structures. This paper presents the methodology for analysis and simulation of the systems with the developing discontinuity based on the combination of analytical technique and the Matlab–Simulink computation. As an example, model of a cracked bar subjected to longitudinal excitation is used to analyse a nonlinear response as a way to monitor structural health. Different strategies of monitoring are compared based on the tracking the qualitative transformation of the bar?s vibration.  相似文献

固体材料的无损检测是一个非常重要的课题,带裂纹的固体材料显示非经典非线性声学现象,本文对此现象进行了实验和理论研究。从实验上一维观察到此现象,发现奇次谐波振幅与基波振幅呈平方关系,与理论预计基本吻合;理论上从二维的角度数值模拟了声波在有损耗的带裂纹的固体中的声传播,并讨论了经典非线性和非经典非线性对声传播的影响,发现裂纹的贡献主要体现在非经典非线性上。分析了样品中裂纹的宽度和位置与非线性声参数的关系,在靠近样品中心的两个对称区域以及距离声源较近点,非线性声参数对样品的破损较为敏感,而在中央和距声源最远端敏感性较低;随着裂纹宽度的扩大,非线性声参数也开始变大,但在破损区域蔓延到棒边缘之前,有下降的趋势。   相似文献

We investigate and analyze the time-integrated nonlinear optical behaviour of an electronhole plasma in CdS as a function of the temperature and the exciting intensity. The competition between the temperature dependences of the absorption tail and of the manyparticle effects leads with increasing temperature around 160 K to a turn-over from a red- to a blue-shift of the absorption edge under excitation. The frequency dependence of the absorption for high plasma concentrations is in good agreement with theoretical calculations.  相似文献

Vibration measurements offer an effective, inexpensive and fast means of non-destructive testing of structures and various engineering components. There are mainly two approaches to crack detection through vibration testing; open crack model with emphasis on changes in modal parameters and secondly, the breathing crack model focusing on nonlinear response characteristics. The open crack model based on linear response characteristics can identify the crack only at an advanced stage. Researchers have shown that a structure with a breathing crack behaves more like a nonlinear system, similar to that of a bilinear oscillator and the nonlinear response characteristics can very well be investigated to identify the presence of the crack. In the present study, the bilinear restoring force is approximated by a polynomial series and a nonlinear dynamic model of the cracked structure is developed using higher order frequency response functions. The effect of crack severity on the response harmonic amplitudes are investigated and a new procedure is suggested whereby the crack severity can be estimated through measurement of the first and second harmonic amplitudes.  相似文献

This study proposes an analytical model for nonlinear vibrations in a cracked rectangular isotropic plate containing a single and two perpendicular internal cracks located at the center of the plate. The two cracks are in the form of continuous line with each parallel to one of the edges of the plate. The equation of motion for isotropic cracked plate, based on classical plate theory is modified to accommodate the effect of internal cracks using the Line Spring Model. Berger?s formulation for in-plane forces makes the model nonlinear. Galerkin?s method used with three different boundary conditions transforms the equation into time dependent modal functions. The natural frequencies of the cracked plate are calculated for various crack lengths in case of a single crack and for various crack length ratio for the two cracks. The effect of the location of the part through crack(s) along the thickness of the plate on natural frequencies is studied considering appropriate crack compliance coefficients. It is thus deduced that the natural frequencies are maximally affected when the crack(s) are internal crack(s) symmetric about the mid-plane of the plate and are minimally affected when the crack(s) are surface crack(s), for all the three boundary conditions considered. It is also shown that crack parallel to the longer side of the plate affect the vibration characteristics more as compared to crack parallel to the shorter side. Further the application of method of multiple scales gives the nonlinear amplitudes for different aspect ratios of the cracked plate. The analytical results obtained for surface crack(s) are also assessed with FEM results. The FEM formulation is carried out in ANSYS.  相似文献

The coupling of lateral and longitudinal vibrations due to the presence of transverse surface crack in a rotor is explored. Steady state unbalance response of a Jeffcott rotor with a single centrally situated crack subjected to periodic axial impulses is studied. Partial opening of crack is considered and the stress intensity factor at the crack tip is used to decide the extent of crack opening. A crack in a rotor is known to introduce coupling between lateral and longitudinal vibrations. Therefore, lateral vibration response of a cracked rotor to axial impulses is studied in detail. Spectral analysis of response to periodic multiple axial impulses shows the presence of rotor bending natural frequency as well as side bands around impulse excitation frequency and its harmonics due to modulations caused by rotor running frequency. It is concluded that the above approach can prove to be a useful tool in detecting cracks in rotors.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical approach to the fundamental frequency of cracked Euler-Bernoulli beams in bending vibrations. The flexibility influence function method used to solve the problem leads to an eigenvalue problem formulated in integral form. The influence of the crack was represented by an elastic rotational spring connecting the two segments of the beam at the cracked section. In solving the problem, closed-form expressions for the approximated values of the fundamental frequency of cracked Euler-Bernoulli beams in bending vibrations are reached. The results obtained agree with those numerically obtained by the finite element method.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the longitudinal frequency of a cracked nanobeam. The frequency equation of the nanobeam with clamped–clamped and clamped–free boundary conditions is derived based on the nonlocal elasticity theory. According to the equation, it can be found that the effects of the crack parameter, crack location, and nonlocal parameter on the longitudinal frequency of the cracked nanobeam are significant. The frequency decreases with an increase of the crack parameter. However, the increasing nonlocal parameter results in a decrease of the crack effect on the frequency. In addition, when the crack location is near the support, a larger decrease in the frequency can be observed.  相似文献

We propose a theoretical model for the generation of electromagnetic waves in the terahertz (THz) frequency range by the optical rectification of a Gaussian laser pulse in a plasma with an applied static electric field transverse to the direction of propagation. A Gaussian laser pulse can exert a transverse component of the quasi‐static ponderomotive force on the electrons at a frequency in the THz range by a suitable choice of the laser pulse width. This nonlinear force is responsible for the density oscillation. The coupling of this oscillation with the drift velocity acquired by electrons due to the applied static electric field leads to the generation of a nonlinear current density. A spatial Gaussian intensity profile of the laser beam enhances the generated THz yield by many folds as compared to a uniform spatial intensity profile.  相似文献

针对结构中微裂纹检测难题,发展了一种闭合裂纹非共线混频超声检测方法。在对非共线混频超声检测机理分析基础上,进行了结构中疲劳裂纹混频非线性超声检测实验。对有无裂纹试件中检测信号进行了滤波和时频分析,结果表明,可根据信号滤波后时域波形中是否存在明显的混频波包或时频分析中是否存在明显的和频分量,实现有无闭合裂纹的判识;通过移动激励探头的位置,控制两列入射声波在试件中的交汇位置,实现试件中不同深度位置的混频非线性检测。并根据测得的混频非线性系数沿试件深度方向上分布,实现了闭合裂纹沿深度方向上长度的测量。研究工作为结构中微裂纹定量评价做了有益探索。   相似文献

The vibration problems associated with geared systems have been the focus of research in recent years. As the torque is mainly transmitted by the geared system, a slant crack is more likely to appear on the gear shaft. Due to the slant crack and its breathing mechanism, the dynamic behavior of cracked geared system would differ distinctly with that of uncracked system. Relatively less work is reported on slant crack in the geared rotor system during the past research. Thus, the dynamic analysis of a geared rotor-bearing system with a breathing slant crack is performed in the paper. The finite element model of a geared rotor with slant crack is presented. Based on fracture mechanics, the flexibility matrix for the slant crack is derived that accounts for the additional stress intensity factors. Three methods for whirling analysis, parametric instability analysis and steady-state response analysis are introduced. Then, by taking a widely used one-stage geared rotor-bearing system as an example, the whirling frequencies of the equivalent time-invariant system, two types of instability regions and steady-state response under the excitations of unbalance forces and tooth transmission errors, are computed numerically. The effects of crack depth, position and type (transverse or slant) on the system dynamic behaviors are considered in the discussion. The comparative study with slant cracked geared rotor is carried out to explore distinctive features in their modal, parametric instability and frequency response behaviors.  相似文献

在将裂纹板挠度表示为正交多项式的基础上,用分区技术的瑞利一里兹方法求解了含不同长度径向裂纹和弧向裂纹的周界固定圆板的振动基频。实验上用小球撞击法测定了裂纹圆板的辐射声场频谱,并得出了谱的基频。此外用有限元法对裂纹板作了理论计算。三项结果基本符合。探究了裂纹长度对圆板基频的影响规律。  相似文献

The influence of two transverse open cracks on the antiresonances of a double cracked cantilever beam is investigated both analytically and experimentally. It is shown that there is a shift in the antiresonances of the cracked beam depending on the location and size of the cracks. These antiresonance changes, complementary with natural frequency changes, can be used as additional information carrier for crack identification in double cracked beams. Experimental results from tests on plexiglas beams damaged at different locations and different magnitudes are found to be in good agreement with theoretical predictions. Based on the results of the present work, an efficient prediction scheme for crack localization and characterization in double cracked beams is proposed.  相似文献

Nonlinear optical frequency mixing,which describes new frequencies generation by exciting nonlinear materials with intense light field,has drawn vast interests in the field of photonic devices,material characterization,and optical imaging.Investigating and manipulating the nonlinear optical response of target materials lead us to reveal hidden physics and develop applications in optical devices.Here,we report the realization of facile manipulation of nonlinear optical responses in the example system of MoS2 monolayer by van der Waals interfacial engineering.We found that,the interfacing of monolayer graphene will weaken the exciton oscillator strength in MoS2 monolayer and correspondingly suppress the second harmonic generation(SHG)intensity to 30%under band-gap resonance excitation.While with off-resonance excitation,the SHG intensity would enhance up to 130%,which is conjectured to be induced by the interlayer excitation between MoS2 and graphene.Our investigation provides an effective method for controlling nonlinear optical properties of two-dimensional materials and therefore facilitates their future applications in optoelectronic and photonic devices.  相似文献

For the first time within the framework of a self-consistent analysis of the process of resonant scattering and generation of oscillations by a channeling nonlinear layer it is shown that the imaginary part of the nonlinear component of the permittivity, induced by the intensity of the incident field, takes both positive and negative values along the height of the layer. The variation of this quantity characterizes the loss of energy in the nonlinear medium which is spent for the generation of the electromagnetic field at the higher harmonics. The consideration of a weak excitation field at a multiple frequency leads merely to an increase of the portion of generated energy.  相似文献

In this paper, the coupling of lateral and longitudinal vibrations due to the presence of transverse surface crack in a rotor is explored. A crack in a rotor is known to introduce coupling between lateral and longitudinal vibrations. Steady state unbalance response of a cracked rotor with a single centrally situated crack subjected to periodic axial impulses is investigated experimentally. The cracked rotor is excited axially using an electrodynamic exciter at a frequency equal to its bending natural frequency in both non-rotating and rotating conditions. The resulting time domain and frequency domain signals of the cracked rotor are studied. Spectral response of the cracked rotor with and without axial excitation is found to be distinctively different. When excited axially, it shows prominent presence of rotor bending natural frequency. However for an uncracked rotor, the response is similar with or without axial excitation. It is thus proposed that the response of the rotor to axial impulse excitation could be used for more reliable diagnosis of rotor cracks.  相似文献

A novel method is proposed for calculating the natural frequencies of a multiple cracked beam and detecting unknown number of multiple cracks from the measured natural frequencies. First, an explicit expression of the natural frequencies through crack parameters is derived as a modification of the Rayleigh quotient for the multiple cracked beams that differ from the earlier ones by including nonlinear terms with respect to crack severity. This expression provides a simple tool for calculating the natural frequencies of the beam with arbitrary number of cracks instead of solving the complicated characteristic equation. The obtained nonlinear expression for natural frequencies in combination with the so-called crack scanning method proposed recently by the authors allowed the development of a novel procedure for consistent identification of unknown amount of cracks in the beam with a limited number of measured natural frequencies. The developed theory has been illustrated and validated by both numerical and experimental results.  相似文献
