Using the accurate expression of the Fourier transform of the pure Voigt spectral line profile, we present the principle of the passive optical method to measure temperature, velocity, and pressure of atmospheric wind for the Voigt profile. Through discussion, from the Gaussian, Lorentzian and Voigt profiles, we find that velocity will not be affected, pressure can be derived for Lorentzian and Voigt profiles, and temperature will be affected greatly. By simulation and comparison, we find that temperature derived from the Voigt profile is greater than that from the Gaussian profile, and it is less than that from the Lorentzian profile. This discussion will be significant in accurate upper atmospheric wind measurement.  相似文献

The transformation laws governing the statistical properties of the quantum noise of an optical amplifier when its gain factor and spectral line profile are varied are considered. The correlation functions of quantum noise both at the amplifier output and after nonlinear transformation normalized to the correlation time of quantum noise at the amplifier output were found to be independent of the amplifier gain provided that it exceeds 10 for the Gaussian spectral line profile and 103 for the Lorentzian profile. The spectral density of quantum noise transformed in a nonlinear system was shown to possess the same similarity property. It was found that the statistical characteristics possess a similarity property even in the case of variation of the spectral line profile from Gaussian to Lorentzian. It was concluded that such a characteristic of quantum noise of an optical amplifier as the correlation time bears virtually all information on the above-mentioned statistical properties at a reasonably large amplifier gain. The similarity property revealed has an important application. It allows finding the matching condition between the optical signal spectrum and the gain profile of the optical quantum amplifier to achieve the highest sensitivity of signal detection by the amplifier.  相似文献

In this paper, based on the exact Voigt profile we obtained, we derive the theory of resonance escape factors of plasma resonance lines, for both Lorentzian profile and Voigt profile. The oscillator strength, the number density of the absorbing atoms in the ground state, and the optical depth in the line center are discussed. As an example, the helium He I 1083.0 nm, lithium Li I 670.970 nm and carbon C I 111.74 nm are discussed for infrared, visible and ultraviolet regions. The results we calculated are in good agreement with the experimental results. These calculations will be significant in the theoretical analysis of plasma.   相似文献

We demonstrate that the interaction between atoms and a Gaussian beam changes the Lorentzian resonance into a so-called Rabi-Lorentzian resonance profile. The existence of such profiles is experimentally evidenced in a dark resonance situation for metastable (4) He, in the absence of any external perturbation. A topological mechanism is shown theoretically to account for the measured profiles. We observe a 3% systematic residual with respect to a pure Lorentzian profile, which could play a role in the search of high precision in the measurement of fundamental constants.  相似文献

提出并设计了一套新型的大气水汽和气溶胶探测用紫外域拉曼激光雷达系统, 以二向色镜和超窄带滤光片构成高效率拉曼光谱分光系统, 实现激光雷达大气回波信号中米-瑞利散射信号、 氮气和水汽的振动拉曼散射信号的精细分离和高效率提取. 利用美国标准大气的分子散射模型和实测的大气米散射信号模型, 对分光系统的米-瑞利散射信号的抑制率、大气水汽测量的信噪比和误差进行数值仿真设计. 搭建实验系统对西安地区夜间的大气水汽进行实验观测, 并利用有云天气下实测的激光雷达回波信号, 反演获得大气后向散射比和水汽混合比的相关特性, 验证了该拉曼光谱分光系统对米-瑞利信号的抑制率达到10-7以上量级. 理论和实验结果表明, 设计的新型拉曼光谱分光系统可以在大气后向散射比为17时, 实现水汽探测误差小于15%, 满足拉曼激光雷达系统对大气水汽的高效率探测. 关键词: 拉曼激光雷达 水汽混合比 大气后向散射比  相似文献

谱线线型是用于气体浓度测量中的一个重要参数。本文基于温度(压强)变化会引起相应压强(温度)的变化这一点,考虑温度和压强同时变化对气体线型峰值的影响。通过分析氟化氢的吸收谱线,发现可用Lorentzian线型来计算峰值吸收系数的温度和压强范围都扩大,而Gaussian线型在绝大数情况下不能用来计算峰值吸收系数;在一定的温度范围和压强范围内,如果只考虑压强或温度的变化,由此计算的三种线型峰值(Gaussian,Lorentzian和Voigt)的相对误差大于0.1。因此,在计算线型峰值时,需考虑压强和温度同时变化对线型峰值的影响。最后分别讨论了甲烷、二氧化碳、一氧化碳及一氧化氮,得到与氟化氢结论相似的结论,结论的不完全相同是由于每种气体在波数、压力展宽系数、相对分子质量及温度系数上的不同而导致。  相似文献

激光自混频技术可用于纳米颗粒和纳米流体的探测。在纳米流体自混频信号自相关函数的基础上,理论推导了功率谱函数的表达式。结果表明,纳米流体的激光自混频信号功率谱是洛伦兹线型和高斯线型的卷积,即佛赫特(Voigt)线型。通过数值计算研究了各种典型情况下激光自混频信号功率谱的频谱特征,颗粒定向运动速度决定了多普勒频移和高斯线宽,颗粒粒度决定了洛伦兹线型的宽度,颗粒粒度和速度与功率谱之间的对应关系为纳米流体的测量提供了理论基础。  相似文献

考虑到碰撞展宽导致的洛伦兹线型,理论上研究了佛克脱线型(高斯线型和洛伦兹线型的卷积)HeⅠ 1 083.0 nm辐射线的后向散射截面和有效后向散射截面,HeⅠ 1 083.0 nm辐射线实际上由三条非常接近的1 083.034,1 083.025和1 082.908 nm辐射线组成,文章给出了此3条辐射线的有效后向散射截面的曲线及其峰值,得到的10-16数量级与预言的数量级相一致。此研究比以前假定HeⅠ 1 083.0 nm辐射线为高斯线型更接近实际,从而为共振雷达探测热成层亚稳态He提供了更全面翔实的理论基础。文章还给出了HeⅠ 388.9 nm和HeI 318.8 nm辐射线的有效后向散射截面的曲线及其峰值,得到它们的有效后向散射截面比HeI 1 083.0 nm辐射线的小,此结论与实验结果相一致。  相似文献

The formulas of the dependence of the spectral laser power distribution and its spectral half-width on the physical parameters of its laser active medium are derived. In addition it is found that, if the gain line profile has a Lorentzian or Gaussian distribution, the spectral laser power distribution is of a Lorentzian profile. The spectral halfwidth of the laser beam in both cases are slightly different form each other. For a general gain line profile, the spectral laser power distribution behaves as a differential form like that of the gain line profile.The spectral halfwidth of He/Ne laser beam having powers (0·5 mW, 1·0 mW, 3·0 mW and 50 mW) and that of their longitudinal modes, the laser gain factor and the difference between the population atomic densities of the upper and lower energy levels for the laser line transition are experimentally determined.  相似文献

The approximation of the Voigt line shape by the linear summation of Lorentzian and Gaussian line shapes of equal width is well documented and has proved to be a useful function for modeling in vivo (1)H NMR spectra. We show that the error in determining peak areas is less than 0.72% over a range of simulated Voigt line shapes. Previous work has concentrated on empirical analysis of the Voigt function, yielding accurate expressions for recovering the intrinsic Lorentzian component of simulated line shapes. In this work, an analytical approach to the approximation is presented which is valid for the range of Voigt line shapes in which either the Lorentzian or Gaussian component is dominant. With an empirical analysis of the approximation, the direct recovery of T(2) values from simulated line shapes is also discussed.  相似文献

A combined Raman elastic-backscatter lidar has been developed. A XeCl excimer laser is used as the radiation source. Inelastic Raman backscatter signals are spectrally separated from the elastic signal with a filter or grating polychromator. Raman channels can be chosen to register signals from CO2, O2, N2, and H2O. Algorithms for the calculation of the water-vapor mixing ratio from the Raman signals and the particle extinction and backscatter coefficients from both elastic and inelastic backscatter signals are given. Nighttime measurements of the vertical humidity distribution up to the tropopause and of particle extinction, backscatter, and lidar ratio profiles in the boundary layer, in high-altitude water and ice clouds, and in the stratospheric aerosol layer are presented. Daytime boundary-layer measurements of moisture and particle extinction are made possible by the improved daylight suppression of the grating polychromator. Test measurements of the CO2 mixing ratio indicate the problems for the Raman lidar technique in monitoring other trace gases than water vapor.  相似文献

Cirrus clouds play an important role in the climate through their optical and microphysical properties. The problem with measuring optical properties of these clouds can be partially addressed by using lidar systems. This paper presents a new model for describing the multiple scattering contribution to the backscatter signal measured by the lidar system. The new lidar equation introduced this way, expresses the backscatter signal in terms of a polynomial function of the cloud scattering coefficient. Cloud optical properties such as the extinction coefficient and lidar ratio can be deduced from the new proposed lidar equation. Moreover, some cloud microphysical properties can also be inferred from these optical properties. The method is applied to lidar data collected by the micropulsed lidar operating at Nauru under the auspices of the US Department of Energy ARM program.  相似文献

报道了一种基于扫描F-P标准具的高光谱分辨低平流层大气温度探测技术。通过扫描F-P标准具,获得大气分子瑞利后向散射的透过率分布。对该透过率进行非线性拟合,由拟合得到的谱宽计算大气温度分布。为了减小频率不稳定引起的系统误差,采用静态的F-P标准具实时监测激光出射频率,并在数据处理中进行补偿。由时间分辨率2000s的激光雷达原始信号的信噪比,根据最大似然估计误差分析,该方法在30km以下的探测误差小于1.9K,50km以下的探测误差小于9.8K。在对比实验中,在18~36km高光谱分辨激光雷达与探空气球探测的温度廓线最大偏差4.7K;在27~34km,高光谱分辨激光雷达与瑞利积分激光雷达探测的温度最大偏差2.7K。在15~27km,由于气溶胶的污染,瑞利积分激光雷达的温度明显偏离其他两种探测结果,最大偏差达22.8K。  相似文献

The output of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) lasers such as X-ray lasers operated without mirrors is calculated exactly for Gaussian and Lorentzian small signal gain profiles by a simple Taylor series expansion. The accuracy of the ‘Linford’ formula commonly used as an approximation for the output of ASE lasers is evaluated by comparison to our exact solutions. The Linford formula is accurate to better than 10% for intensities produced by a Gaussian gain profile, but requires multiplication by a correction factor of at gain length product greater than 5 for Lorentzian gain profiles.  相似文献

The mean probability of photon capture Ψ, obtained via an approximation to the complementary escape factor Λ, for calcium and zinc resonance lines at 4226.73 and 2138.56 Å have been determined from their atomic absorption measurements. Calculations are performed for Gaussian, Lorentzian, and Voigt spectral line shapes. 为持续获得对流层低层高精度、高时空分辨率的水汽浓度分布数据,提出了一套改进的大气水汽探测地基差分吸收激光雷达系统方案.详细描述了系统主要组成部分,对主要误差进行了分析与估计,并提出了一种差分吸收截面实时测量装置用于补偿发射激光器带来的测量误差.针对该系统,并结合上海地区不同季节的水汽浓度状况,对935 nm水汽吸收带中四个水汽吸收峰的差分光学厚度、雪崩二极管的倍增系数M与回波信噪比的关系、水汽浓度随机测量误差等进行了详细的仿真与分析.仿真结果表明,根据不同的季节和天气状况,可以选择不同的吸收峰以达到最佳探测效果;在300—5000 m高度范围内,最大可以达到300 m的垂直分辨率与5 min的时间分辨率,水汽浓度随机测量误差不超过18%.  相似文献

Expressions for fundamental spectral line parameters are reported for Gaussian and Lorentzian shape profiles for homogeneous plasma at equilibrium in presence of the self-absorption. These expressions for Lorentzian profiles are applied to the determination of the ratios of transition probabilities and the ratios of optical thicknesses by a new method that we propose in this article. The self-absorption is computed by spectral line profiles with a Simplex algorithm program fitting. Applications to some experimental lines illustrate the appropriate corrections.  相似文献

We proposed a simple overlap factor calculation method based on laser intensity distribution (OFLID), which is simple, practical and can be applied to any specific laser intensity distribution. In order to obtain the laser intensity distribution and parameters of our laser system, we designed a simple experiment to measure them, and then simulated an ideal Gaussian and uniform laser intensity distribution with the measured parameters. The OFLID calculation results indicated that the overlap factor of the measured distribution has approximately half the relative error of that of the ideal Gaussian distribution in the increasing range field for our lidar. Specifically, the laser intensity distribution should be regarded in the overlap correction of the lidar signal. Theoretically, the OFLID method can reduce the error caused by the hypothesis of ideal uniform or Gaussian intensity distributions in the analytical method. In addition, the method is easy to implement for overlap correction, signal simulation and system configuration optimization for biaxial lidar.  相似文献

A theoretical treatment for multiple-beam fringe visibility taking into consideration the profile of the spectral source is derived for (a) a Gaussian profile; and (b) a Lorentzian profile. A comparative study between the visibility of the two profiles is presented. Expressions for the intensity distribution for Doppler and Voigt cases are given. The fringe visibility dependence on the half-width of the spectral profile of the light illuminating the interferometer for the two cases, namely Lorentzian and Gaussian, is presented. This leads to the view that the coherence length for a Voigt profile is less than it is in the absence of Doppler or pressure broadening. Multiple-beam Fabry-Perot fringes in transmission have been utilized for the determination of the coherence length of the two spectral lines emitted from 198Hg at wavelengths of 5461 Å and 4358 Å. The method for determination is based on the variation of the visibility of the recorded interference fringes with path difference.  相似文献
