A resonant buildup of beam-induced fields in a superconducting radio frequency(RF)cavity may make a beam unstable or a superconducting RF cavity quench. Higher-order mode(HOM)couplers are used for damping higher-order modes to avoid such a resonant buildup. A coaxial HOM coupler based on the TTF (TESLA Test Facility)HOM coupler has been designed for the superconducting RF cavities at the Proton Engineering Frontier Project(PEFP)in order to overcome notch frequency shift and feed-through tip melting issues. In order to confirm the HOM coupler design and finalize its structural dimensions, two prototype HOM couplers have been fabricated and tested. Low-power testing and measurement of the HOM couplers has shown that the HOM coupler has good filter properties and can fully meet the damping requirements of the PEFP low-beta superconducting RF linac.  相似文献

为了消除超导加速腔中高阶模场对加速粒子的影响, 在DESY的高阶模耦合器结构的基础上本文提出了改进的耦合器. 用HFSS程序针对1.5cell腔设计优化了高阶模耦合器, 得到高阶模耦合器对几种主要模式的吸收. 研究结果表明, 采用新型结构后, 衰减器对主要有害模的衰减由-40dB提高到-15dB, 使原有高阶模衰减器的性能明显提高. 该高阶模衰减器也适用于国产2cell超导腔的使用.  相似文献

Coaxial High Order Mode (HOM) couplers have been fabricated at Peking University and their RF performance has been measured on a test device consisting of a coaxial transmission line and a 2-cell TESLA-shape copper cavity. The test results on the 2-cell TESLA-shape copper cavity with HOM couplers indicate that the coupler can cut off the fundamental mode TM010 and absorb HOMs effectively after a careful adjustment. The optimal angle of the HOM coupler with the beam tube is found. The initial test results of HOM couplers are presented in this paper.  相似文献

介绍了三维射频加速器计算机辅助设计(CAD)程序包MAFIA的特点、功能及其应用。用CAD的方法实现了射频加速器特别是非轴对称带耦合腔的加速器的三维腔形设计。同时介绍了节省内存、节约机时的模型方法,使得在中小型机器上运行大程序(八万条)成为可能。文章主要对L波段的加速腔进行了数值模拟,并和实验进行了比较,结果符合较好;通过三维数值模拟及图形模拟的方法比较了各种形状谐振腔的性能;计算分析了输入耦合腔及高阶模耦合器对加速腔电磁场分布等参量的影响;提出了加耦合器后谐振频率改变的补偿方法。  相似文献

A TTF-type coaxial higher order modes (HOM) coupler has been used in a TESLA 9 cell cavity. It is impossible to measure the stop band characteristics of the HOM coupler with the cavity. A measurement device for the coaxial transmission line type for the HOM coupler has been designed at Peking University. Experimentally it was shown that the average voltage standing wave ratio of the coaxial transmission line is smaller than 1.08. The experimental results of the stop band characteristics of the TTF-type HOM coupler have been fitted for the simulation. This paper describes the design of the measurement device and discusses the experimental and simulation results of stop band characteristics of the HOM coupler.  相似文献

为实现高平均流强加速, 需要有效地消除超导加速腔中的高阶模场. 为研制有效的高阶模耦合器, 本文对北京大学DC-SC光阴极超导注入器的核心部件—1+1/2 cell超导加速腔中高阶模场进行了分析研究, 用HFSS程序计算给出前31个高阶模场参数, 与实验测量较为符合. HFSS计算与Superfish计算结果比较符合很好, 验证用HFSS计算可靠, 为以后超导腔的升级研究提供有效的手段.  相似文献

An RF power coupler is a key component of the superconducting accelerating system in Chinese ADS proton linac injector I, which is used to transmit 15 kW RF power from the power source to the superconducting HWR cavity. According to the requirement of working frequency, power level, transmission capability and cooling condition, the physics design of coupler has been finished, which includes RF structure optimization, thermal simulation, thermal stress analysis and so on. Based on this design, the prototype of HWR coupler has been fabricated, and it has successfully passed the high power test.  相似文献

Higher harmonic cavity used in the third generation synchrotron light source increases the Touschek lifetime. The higher harmonic cavity of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) is a 1.5GHz passive superconducting cavity. Its higher order modes (HOM) are extracted by a ferrite HOM damper out of the cryostat. Multi-cell cavity is chosen concerning the voltage. The harmonic cavity dynamics, beam dynamics with passive harmonic cavity and the design of single cell cavity are included in this paper.  相似文献

In this paper we will show a cavity and higher order mode(HOM) coupler designing scheme for the Circular Electron-Positron Collider(CEPC) main ring. The cavity radio frequency(RF) design parameters are shown in this paper. The HOM power is calculated based on the beam parameters in the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR). The damping results of the higher order modes(HOMs) and same order modes(SOMs) show that they reach the damping requirements for beam stability.  相似文献

Up to now, two sets including windows and antennas have beam made by IHEP. And a 270 kW RF power in CW has passed through the coupler during the high power test. A flexible high power RF test stand has been designed and constructed at IHEP to test a variety of 500 MHz superconducting RF components for the upgrade project of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCⅡ), such as the input coupler, the higher order modes (HOMs) absorber and so on. A high power input coupler has been conditioned and tested with the RF power up to 250 kW in continuous wave (CW), traveling wave (TW) mode and 150 kW CW in standing wave (SW) mode. A prototype of the HOMs absorber has been tested to absorb power of 4.4 kW. An introduction of the test stand design, construction and high power tests is presented in this paper.  相似文献

A pick-up parallel-setting high order mode coupler(pps-HOM coupler)has been fabricated at Peking University.It has been tested on a coaxial transmission line and a 2-cell TESLA-shape copper cavity.The test result of the 2-cell TESLA cavity shows that the coupler can cut off the fundamental mode TM010 and absorb HOMs electively.As its RF properties are insensitive to the probe dip length,there is no need to adjust the probe repeatedly during practical operation.  相似文献

功率耦合器是粒子加速腔射频功率馈送的关键部件。耦合器在安装至加速腔之前,必须进行常温高功率测试和锻炼,以检验加工工艺和设计指标,提高其射频性能。详细介绍了中国科学院近代物理研究所ADS25 MeV加速器样机162.5 MHz耦合器测试平台的改进设计。针对原有接触式测试锻炼方式的不足,提出非接触式测试锻炼方案。对耦合器测试锻炼过程进行了物理抽象,采用理论模拟的方法分析测试腔体功率传输。基于分析结果设计了低损耗、宽通带、多用途的非接触式耦合器测试腔体。该腔体可实现20 kW测试功率下60 W左右的腔体损耗和15 MHz-3 dB带宽。Fundamental power couplers (FPC) are crucial components for feeding RF power to the accelerating cavities. Before being installed on the accelerating cavity, a coupler must be tested and conditioned at room temperature to check its fabrication quality, to verify its design specifications, and improve its RF performance. This paper thoroughly introduced the design of a test stand for the 162.5 MHz coupler of ADS 25 MeV demo facility at IMP, CAS. In order to overcome the shortcomings of the original contacting test method, a noncontacting test scheme was proposed. A physical model was built for the the coupler test and the test cavity power transmission was analyzed theoretically. Based on the analysis results, a low-loss, wide-passband and multipurpose non-contacting coupler test cavity was designed. With the new test cavity, a power loss of around 60W and a -3 dB bandwidth of 15 MHz at a test power of 20 kW was achieved.  相似文献

为了研发中国散裂中子源(CSNS)漂移管直线加速器(DTL)的功率耦合器,在对常规波导窗结构进行改进的基础上,设计了一种新型高功率波导窗。利用微波仿真软件CST优化了波导窗的高频传输特性,并采用ANSYS分析了波导窗在通功率时的温升及热应力以防止陶瓷片破裂,结果表明,波导窗能传输的最大平均功率达到了800 kW。校核了波导窗抽真空时的机械强度,并对陶瓷窗高频打火进行初步讨论,结果表明,漂移管直线加速器入腔功率为2 MW,小于波导窗的临界输入功率2.355 MW,窗内打火的机率很小。  相似文献
