通过测量铌酸锂(LN)单模波导在不同波长下的半波电压,结合半波电压与电光重叠积分因子的依赖关系,实验发现了LN单模波导电光重叠积分因子随波长增大而迅速减小.另一方面,通过数值求解法分别得出了LN单模波导在不同波长的导模场分布和调制电场分布以及二者的重叠积分因子,在理论上获得了与实验数据十分近似的结果.进一步的仿真分析指出LN单模波导电光重叠积分因子随波长增大而减小的规律主要来自于导模的光场中心随波长增大逐渐远离波导表面,向低电场强度区域靠近.这种电光重叠积分因子的波长依赖特性是导致LN波导半波电压随波长增大而非线性上升的原因之一,它将为基于LN波导的器件的设计和优化提供重要参考.  相似文献

提出了在极化有机聚合物民光波导调制器中使用局域极化结构。利用该结构,能够在电光调制器中实现完全对称的推挽操作。由于将集成光学电光调制器中用的平面电有改为使用眄结构的微带电极,并且将槽一结构用于接地电极,使器件性能发生变化。文中地反映光波与微波的相互作用强度的重叠积分进行了详细计算,并对器件性能的改变进行了比较。结果表明由于局域极化结构的使用,将大大提高器件的调制性能。  相似文献

提出一种异质集成型薄膜铌酸锂电光调制器,由底部氮化硅波导、中间BCB黏合层、顶部铌酸锂薄膜构成调制区波导结构,调制电极位于铌酸锂薄膜的上部且二者之间填充了低折射率的SiO2,以利于实现折射率匹配并降低光损耗、微波损耗。进一步利用马赫-曾德尔干涉仪结构,设计了相应的电光调制器,并提出一种倒台阶型薄膜结构,该结构可实现输入、输出波导与调制区波导的高效耦合。对该电光调制器进行行波高速匹配设计,所得器件的半波电压长度积为1.77 V·cm,3 dB调制带宽为140 GHz,且调制区长度仅为5 mm。所提器件结构有望在大带宽薄膜铌酸锂电光调制器设计中发挥优势,助力薄膜铌酸锂光子集成器件的快速发展。  相似文献

阐述了定向耦合电光开关的基本结构及工作原理,利用耦合模理论和电光调制理论,在1 550 nm波长下,对器件的结构参量进行了优化,并对其传输光谱、开关电压、插入损耗、串扰等特性进行了分析.模拟过程中,考虑了因金属电极和聚合物材料引起的模式损耗.器件的结构参量优化值为:波导芯截面尺寸为1.7×1.7 μm2,波导芯与电极间的限制层厚度为1.5 μm、电极厚度为0.15 μm,波导间的耦合间距为2.0 μm,相应的耦合长度为2 926 μm.模拟结果表明,本文所设计的器件在开关转换电压0和17.4 V下,在1 534到1 565 nm的波长范围内,器件的插入损耗小于0.16 dB,串扰小于-20 dB,耦合区在2 734~3 120 μm范围内,器件的插入损耗小于0.22 dB,串扰小于-20 dB.  相似文献

利用耦合模理论、电光调制理论和微环谐振理论,提出一个聚合物串联耦合双环电光开关器件模型,在1.55 μm谐振波长下对该器件进行了模拟和优化.结果为:微环波导芯截面尺寸为1.6×1.6 μm2,波导芯与电极间的限制层厚度为1.6 μm,电极厚度为0.15 μm,微环半径为15.2 μm,微环与信道间的耦合间距为0.14 μm,微环与微环间的耦合间距为0.6 μm,输出光谱的3 dB带宽约为0.06 nm,开关电压约为6 V左右,插入损耗约为2.2 dB,串扰约为-20 dB.所设计的双环电光开关较单环型电光开关不仅输出光谱更加平坦陡峭,非谐振光更弱,而且开关电压更低.  相似文献

利用定向耦合器代替Y形分支结构,在X-cut铌酸锂(LN)基底上设计了一款具有低驱动电压、高调制参数的马赫-曾德尔(M-Z)型电光调制器。采用有限元法对定向耦合器的原理及影响因素进行了详细分析和精确计算,并对电光调制器的关键结构参数进行了优化。结果表明:光波沿着定向耦合器传播时,能量在两波导中来回交替,呈正弦和余弦函数分布,并且耦合长度随着其间距的增大而快速增大。在调制臂长为3cm,光波长为1550nm的情况下,单臂调制所获得的半波电压Vπ为2.22V,调制参数S21为-51.13dB。通过对调制臂进行截面分析,给出了电场Ex分量、电位移矢量Dx分量和光模分布,并求得重叠积分因子为0.486。同时还表明脊形波导结构有利于提高电光作用效率。当脊高为1μm时,重叠积分因子为0.714,相较于平板波导,其电光重叠积分因子提高了46.91%。  相似文献

提出并设计了快速可调谐电光聚合物波导光栅.该波导光栅通过极化聚合物的线性电光效应 可实现谐振波长的纳秒级快速调谐,调谐灵敏度为61pm/V.研究了该波导光栅的反射谱和透 射谱特性与光栅周期,周期数,折射率调制函数及其调制大小的关系.讨论了波导光栅的材料 选择,制备工艺,快速可调谐性和偏振相关性.该波导光栅不仅克服了光纤光栅调谐速度慢和不利于大规模集成的不足,而且具有调谐灵敏度高,制备工艺与半导体工艺兼容和偏振无关 等优点. 关键词: 光通信器件 光波导 电光效应 聚合物 波导光栅 光纤光栅  相似文献

设计了一种基于聚合物材料的延迟线阵列与热光开关的集成器件.利用Rsoft软件设计并模拟了多模干涉热光开关的性能,可实现输出光场强度随电极加热温度变化.设计了螺旋结构的延迟线阵列,利用BPM软件对螺旋结构波导进行数值模拟,综合考虑器件尺寸和损耗参量设计出螺旋结构的弯曲半径.将延迟线阵列结构与热光开关进行集成,能够实现热光控制的聚合物延迟线阵列,该器件可实现的最大延迟时间为399.4ps,延迟间隔为9.2ps.以SiO2为下包层,SU-8紫外固化光刻胶为波导芯层,聚甲基丙烯酸甲脂为上包层,采用旋涂、光刻、湿法腐蚀等工艺制备了1×4延迟线阵列与MMI热光开关的集成器件,测试得到了延迟线阵列的近红外输出光斑,插入损耗为15~19dB.  相似文献

基于钛扩散铌酸锂(Ti∶LiNbO3)波导的集成光学电光调制技术的干涉光谱仪是Ti∶LiNbO3调制器的一种崭新应用,一般应用的探测光谱区间是在波导的单模区间。为拓宽探测波长范围至多模传输范围,以x向切割,y向传输。以共面对称电极的Ti∶LiNbO3波导电光调制干涉器(器件长度60mm)为例,模拟了多模传输时电光调制系数的模式色散现象。数值模拟中采用了有限差分方法(FDM)。分析表明,在多模传输情况下,光的各阶模式的光场分布差异导致了电光调制系数的模式色散;在对经线性扫描电压调制后的干涉输出数据进行傅里叶变换谱分析后,可发现对应波长的各阶传输模式谱。实验采用0.808μm单模偏振光源,在激励起准TE多模式和激励起混合模两种情况下,验证了数值模拟和分析的结果。  相似文献

本文利用耦合模理论,电光调制理论和传输矩阵法,提出了一个带有U形波导的交叉信道单微环电光开关的器件模型,并在谐振波长为1561 nm的情况下对该器件进行了仿真计算.结果表明,该电光开关的开关电压约为400 V,串扰小于-30 dB,插入损耗小于4 dB,开关时间仅为5.4 ps,其中微环上的上升和下降时间仅为0.32 ps.此外,该电光开关由单刀双掷开关控制,通过在微环和U形波导上加载驱动电压可实现三种开关状态,不仅可以实现光信号在两条输出信道的选择,还可以使两条信道同时有光信号输出.  相似文献

针对SiO2光波导声光布拉格器件,计算了SiO2非对称平板波导TE模式的横向场分布;给出了SiO2/ZnO/Air层状介质结构的性能方程、运动方程和麦克斯韦方程,推导出这种层状结构的特征方程,并结合所满足的边界条件,得到了各层介质的位移及电磁场分布;计算了声表面波所引起的光学相对介质隔离率张量的变化,最后讨论了声光衍射效率和光场与声场的重叠积分、声功率、声频率、声孔径和光波导参数之间的关系。结果表明,在低频范围内光场与声表面波场重叠良好;低阶模的重叠积分始终大于高阶模重叠积分,最低阶模与声表面波相互作用最强,所需声功率最小;当声功率一定时,增加声孔径可以提高衍射效率。  相似文献

We demonstrate quasi-phase-matched (QPM) second-harmonic generation (SHG) at the optical communication wavelengths with side-chain polymer waveguides. A ridge waveguide structure is designed to support fundamental mode guiding at both the pump and the second harmonics, leading to a high field overlap integral of the guided modes. The nonlinearity contrast in the +/0 type QPM waveguide is maximized under a QPM poling electrode width of nearly half the coherence length. Using these configurations, we record a normalized SHG efficiency of 2.2% W(-1) cm(-2) in the polymer waveguide.  相似文献

The efficiency of acoustooptic interaction in single-mode strip silica waveguide is analyzed theoretically for the first time by determining the overlap integral between the optical and acoustic field distributions. The results show that there is a good overlap of the optical and SAW fields in the low SAW frequency range. At high acoustic frequencies, the overlap integral decreases with increasing acoustic frequency. At 216 MHz, the maximum of 0.8544 for the overlap integral is obtained provided that the H/Λ equals 0.02.  相似文献

Applicability of guided mode resonant structures to tunable optical filtering and sensing is demonstrated using nematic liquid crystals. As a sensor, a minimum refractive index detectivity of 10^-5 is demonstrated while as a tunable filter, tunability range of few tens of nanometers with 2-nm bandwidth is presented. The optimum design is achieved by maximizing the evanescent field region in the analyte which maximizes the overlap integral. The device can be operated in reflection or transmission modes at normal incidence. It can also be operated at a single wavelength by measuring the angular profile of the light beam.  相似文献

The efficiency of acoustooptic (AO) interaction in YZ-cut proton exchanged (PE) LiNbO3 waveguides is theoretically analysed by determining the overlap between the optical and acoustic field distributions. The present analysis takes into account the perturbed SAW field distribution due to the presence of the PE layer on the LiNbO3 substrate determined by the rigorous layered medium approach. The overlap is found to be significant upto very high acoustic frequencies of the order of 5 GHz, whereas in the earlier analysis by vonHelmolt and Schaffer [6] for diffused waveguides, it was shown that the overlap integral rolls down to nearly zero at this high frequency range.  相似文献

We present measurements of the near-field beam profiles of two corrugated feed horns with center frequencies of 216 and 300 GHz. Both co-polar and cross-polar components of the electric field have been probed across the operation band of the horns. A full-wave numerical near-field transformation, based on a vector Kirchhoff integral, is implemented to transform the measured field to the horn aperture for a comparison with the ideal aperture field. From the overlap integral of the transformed and the ideal field, we conclude that the field radiated by these horns is the HE11 mode, to a purity of better than 99%.  相似文献

We propose and study in detail a phase-matched quadratic optical interaction in a realizable 2D double-slot lithium niobate (LN) waveguide. As opposed to the single-slot waveguide, the field can be well confined in the nanometric nonlinear material, and it is also more flexible for birefringence and dispersion design. The proposed compact double-slot structure could not only achieve form birefringence phase matching but also effectively enhance the modal overlap integral and expand the working wavelength. The calculated results on second harmonic generation show an extremely large bandwidth of ~40 nm. The modal overlap integral up to 0.035 W(3/2)/V can be realized by optimizing the waveguide geometry, and it is much better than previous results on single-slot waveguides. Its temperature dependence is low--around 25 °C. The geometry is practical considering the current micromachining technique of LN.  相似文献

Based on the QPM structure and the coupled-mode theory, the maximum SHG conversion efficiency of QPM-SHG waveguides in LiTaO3 substrates is analyzed by optimizing the mode confinement and the mode overlap factors. For TM00()-to-TM00(2) conversion with a non-square shaped domain inversion QPM structure, the mode confinement and mode overlap factor are dependent not only on the optical field distribution for the fundamental and the SH waves in the waveguide, but also on the domain inversion shape. With the assumption that the refractive index profile of an annealed, proton exchanged LiTaO3 channel waveguide is an exponential decay function in the depth direction, and a Gaussian function in the width direction, the analytical expression of the optical field distribution for the lowest order mode can be obtained. By considering both a non-Gaussian field distribution and a non-square shaped domain inversion structure, the theoretical values for achieving the optimal QPM-SHG waveguide structure are determined.  相似文献

The coupling of light from a number of few or single-moded fibers into a single multi-mode fiber is analyzed using geometric optics, and simple results demonstrating mode conservation are derived. Coupling from multiple single-mode fibers into a multi-mode fiber is investigated in detail using the overlap integral to determine coupling into each mode of the output fiber as a function of the light phase in the inputs. As well as results with practical relevance to fiber tapped delay-line filters and optical CDMA, the analysis provides pedagogic insight into light propagation and the light-gathering properties of fiber.  相似文献
